Hey Daisy !! Thank you girl I have never been told that before. I get tired of hearing myself talk and find it cringy LOL So thank you for that compliment. You can have a full time & build a business . Lets gooooo !!
Thank you so much for this very informative video, I am a new start up originally I was doing just window cleaning but I decided to grow my business, Ive subscribed to your channel and thanks again.
Gracias Carolyn for the informative video explaining how to pay your workers! 💯 love that you have a mutual understanding/connection with your employees & how you run your business in that department as well ✔️. Great video mentor 👏 well done! 😊
@carolynarellano Anytime Carolyn, thank you as always again! 👍🏼😁 Foreal Aight Bet!!! 👌 I gotcha you jefa 😎 Carolyn 🐐 I'll definitely provide ya intake on the courses! 🫡
For 1099 employees they do not clock in and clocked out. We do not reimbursement for their gas. For the W-2 employees I would check with your state on what is legal and what is not.
One way of doing this is having trackers in your fleet. You are able to keep up with them in real time. It's a device that you connect to your obd. It will tell you how fast or average speed they were doing. If the car has any issues. Check engine light. Also dash cams are a plus when having a fleet.
I’ve seen a few videos on this topic and they’re all rather vague. It would be nice to see someone dive a bit deeper into this subject like incorporating futa/suta and unemployment taxes into your rate and other overhead expenses.
hello, what do you recommend, i have 9 months with my llc and at least 3 houses to clean by myself 5 times a week, sometimes i gotta move people for saturday, im starting to feel a little overwhelmed with work and i think is time to hire, what do you recommend having in mind i just started and i think having a w2 its really expensive. whats better 1099 or w2s

Great info. Thank you Carolyn. Im struggling to get new jobs. I dont have the money right now to advertise on google but have tried fb. I had people from all over the world contacting me🙄. I have thought about trying to do flyers. But unsure what neighborhoods to go to and if its legal. Ill have to look more in to it. Could you do a video on getting new clinetle for residential and commercial? Thanks again for all your help and guidance. Blessings to you beautiful one❤
Hello Lisa . Thank you for the feedback! The number one source of free leads is Google my business. If you don’t have one, please make sure to sign up for one tonight. If you do have one, then you need to be posting to that at least three times a week. Updating with photos and specials and most importantly, collecting reviews. The more active you are on GMP the more Google will push your profile up in local search. Next, I would say invest into a website if you have not already. If funds are tight right now then you can make a free one on Google and on other platforms. Something is definitely better than nothing. Joining Facebook’s groups and Mom groups in the areas that you want to target is a great idea. Also be sure to have a Facebook page for your cleaning business and invite others to the group. I would join your local Chamber of Commerce if it’s not overly expensive. It’s a great way to network with other small businesses in the area. Also start a referral program. Tell everybody that you know that you have a cleaning business and that you’re running deals. If they get you a customer they’ll get $25 credited to their clean or maybe even $25 cash. I hope some of this was helpful. Please feel free to shoot me a DM on Instagram if you’d like to chat further.
Paying employees for gas mileage and time to drive to place is great but isn't it too much hassle? How do you stay organized and track all these? Thanks, enjoying your content!
Hi Carolyn, I have learned a lot from your videos. I am trying to start a cleaning business and would like to know how did you find employees? And keeping them?
I'm offering $24 per hour here in the Bay Area, California. It's still very hard to find good cleaners. Almost impossible tbh. Especially when In-n-Out and other fast food joints pay $22 per hour.
How do you prevent your technicians from being slick and stealing your customers? It seems like it could be very easy for them to take a job on the side. Great information here good job!
Hello ! Booking Kola is the least expensive . They shave a scheduling platform and booking forms for your website . If you need help building them out I provide those services bookingkoala.com/ref/?ref=carolyna
Paying yourself as an owner is really up to you and how much money or your business is bringing in. We paid ourselves as employees going through payroll system. For the first year I only took about $150-$300 a week really just trying to reinvest back into my business over and over, it wasn’t until about your three .
I currently only work with 1099 contractors. They are responsible for having their own vehicles and getting to work . if an employee is using their car, you have to read them burst them for gas, mileage, and tolls. It quickly gets expensive if they’re using your company vehicle then you have to pay for the car, the insurance, the tolls, the gas and the drive time.
Hi Carolyn! Do you charge your clients for the drive time that you are paying your employees? Currently struggling with accurately pricing jobs and accounting for the drive time from load in to load out for the day. Thank you in advance! ◡̈
Hello! No we do not charge our clients for the drive time. Only for the time that we are in the home cleaning. If they are w2 employees then you have to include drive time . Click in at first job to clock out at last. With contractors you pay by job no drive time included. All of our cleans are 30-45 min max apart. Anything over that we would charge higher in price but never tell a client it’s because of the drive time . Hope that helps .
Hey Carolyn! Is it possible to center your videos to where the bottom of the video meets your waistline? It seems a little too zoomed out and a lot of times find myself having to kinda squint when I’m watching on my phone with the more recent videos. Otherwise I’ve been waiting for this video topic ❤
You said “the girls” in this video referring to your cleaners. Have you ever sent a man to clean residential? If so, did you have any issues? If not, why not?

Very important the 1099 must submit invoices for payment.

Whats the best percentage a subcontractor
We start at 50-50, but we go up as high as 60 to the Subcontractor 40 for the house
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
