I have watched all the documentaries and videos I can find on Vivien Leigh, and this one is by far the most personal and insightful, a sensitive telling of her life, her career, her character and the battles that challenged her to her core, but never defeated her.
Vivien Leigh was, is and will always be a rare and precious gift. Thank you, Ms. Leigh -- Lady Olivier -- for sharing your Light with us! 🕊💞🕊

Happy Happy Birthday Vivian Leigh! Gone With The Wind has survived these 81 years because of you! You made that film! No offense to the rest of the cast. All were wonderful, but you are the one I remember when I think of the film.

I always remember feeling bad for Belle Watling; her ‘relationship’ with Captain Butler left much to be desired- like I remember thinking that he may have been the father to her son in NOLA.
She was a great actress and a great character!
      I loved Belle!

@@katherinea.williams3044 Yes Belle was a great character and it is too bad her part was not bigger. She I felt really loved Captain Butler, but he didn't love her back. Well maybe he did, He just could not see her. Ona Munson the actress who played Belle was so good. She made you really feel for her. And you are right, Ona Munson was a great actress.

Thanks for posting this. What a shame to have categorized her role as being an "older woman." She was in her late 30's when she did this role and whatever the percieved age of this role, she didn't look that old, just someone in her late 30's who was a bit haggard from stress or something. Time have changed. Loved that movie! Acting by everyone was so great.

Hey Catherine, I’m a highly discerning movie lover and I believe she was just 25 at the time of filming, that makes her performance, just, ALL THE MORE.
      If you’re referring to GWTW.
I’m just at the beginning of the video.

He was a very cold and callous person. In sickness and in health meant absolutely nothing to him. As soon as sickness came into the picture, he ran with his tail between his legs.

One of the complications of Bipolar Disorder is hyper sexuality. This part of Vivian Leigh’s life was omitted in this biography.

When Jean Simmons burst on to the silver screen, there were rumours circulating that she was the illegitimate daughter of Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier, however, Vivien would have been just 15 years old when Jean was born, and it was years before Vivien met Larry, but apparently, even Olivier himself remarked that Jean was definitely a 'strange mix of myself and Vivien'.

Vivien never looked more beautiful that when she was in 'Waterloo Bridge'. Her beauty was ethereal........almost too good to be true.

Vivien Leigh looked like her father. As I understand he was of Scottish descent. Her mother on the other hand was an Englishwoman who was also part Irish and part Armenian....interesting.

I agree. He and Karl Marden were saying for decades that Jessica Tandy was better as Blanche but Marlon Brando (who I think knew what he was talking about, where acting was concerned) said he vastly preferred Vivien in the role. To me it's mind boggling that anyone could fault Vivien Leigh in Streetcar. I think she's as good if not better than Meryl Streep.

Olivier is not my favorite, by a longshot.
And being cold and callous to Vivien didn't help improve my opinion of him.
I much prefer Lady Olivier (Vivien) because she owns the camera.
      The camera never owns her.
She's my favorite British actress, next to Dame Judi Dench.
I'm also not a huge fan of Elizabeth Taylor - but I must give her flowers for the stellar performance she gave in "Suddenly, Last Summer".
