Ugh UA-cam censorship is ridiculous I swear. I cannot tell you how many comments I have had taken down 😂. It’s insanity.
It's almost as bad as FB, where I get shadowbanned midconversation as I very politely discuss my experiences with conservatives saving me from liberal violence.
Same!
Yep, usually have no clue exactly what set it off. Try to rewrite a couple times trying to maintain your statement while walking on eggshells. Especially annoying while debating someone.
It flags certain words and phrases and removes everything without even giving a warning. You have to be very careful about what you say
We need to start a lawsuit when trump is back. What they are doing is illegal
I think Ellen/Elliott subconsciously realizes she made a huge mistake, but is unable to admit it to herself. That’s why she looks broken and overcompensates with pushing this on others.
Yup. She fucked up
I absolutely agree. When (s)he talks about "being yourself", (s)he actually talks about being a woman and that (s)he was pushed into that transitioning thing.
Not just to herself, she is afraid of public backlash. Imagine #1 trans person going reverse. Devastating for her. Sick society too. I fear she might not end well :(
That's a very sound analysis.
Maybe.........or MAYBE Ellen Page is a PEDDDOOOOPHHILLEE and they got DIDDY TAPES on her and so she has to do ANYTHING they tell her to do or the tapes will get released. I would rather be a RICH trans man that is free than a POOR woman stuck in prison for pedoooo charges.
When he/she was Ellen, she had a career and a happy marriage. She was able to pass as younger, so Hollywood would cast her in roles for late teen college age. She was cute and very waiflike, which appeals to Hollywood producers. She came out as a lesbian and was happily married. Then she had sex reassignment surgery. He now does not fit a mold that Hollywood producers want. 5 foot high, 110 lbs is for leading lady, not leading man. Her wife wanted to be married to her as female, not as male. They have divorced.
Marriage is between a man and a woman.
LGBT+ should stop appropriating straight people's traditions.
Also, Ellen is still female.
Male and female refer to sex, or are you people trying to change the meaning of that too?
Changing man and woman is not enough?
Well said, Ellen was such a cutie in Inception, She was a beautiful young lady. now i look at "Elliot" and all I can do is feel very sad because that person looks absolutely miserable, insecure and everybody can see there's no joy there.
Exactly. Now, the only role she could fit is a guy with aids or cancer. There aren't that many of those roles available.
I think her appealing to Hollywood producers is a big reason why she transitioned. Hollywood is messed up and preys on young women (and men!). She may have been trying to identify out of the very thing that made her a target, being a young, attractive woman.
As Eliot progressed through his transition, he just looked sicker and sicker. Now, he look like he's about to break down in a sobbing fit at a moment's notice.
i feel nothing but pity for Eliot. He didn't need transitioning; he needed serious mental help.
Always been an overemotional wreck. I remember the appearance on a talkshow when he was still a she. They talked about what happened to Jussie Smollet and she darn near had a breakdown. Not even talking about something that happened to her.
Hear, hear.
Still got the female pelvis, and her DNA will identify her as female no matter what she says.
I'm sure it's hard for a working actor to take time off and really think about one's own life in a meaningful way. They're constantly being questioned, and immersing themselves in characters and storylines that aren't their own. And if they try to take time off, it could end their career, which [they think] is all they have. There's so much pressure under that microscope. It's tragic.
SHE
Thank you for pointing out the silliness of the term "my truth" vs the truth.
It drives me insane. No one used to say that until a few years ago. Why? Because people used to understand that the truth was THE truth. It's not a perspective or a feeling. It is not personal or possessive. This is the ultimate height of narcissism, where you try to twist facts and reality into whatever you want them to be!
100% Regardless of gender, race, or religion, there is ONLY the truth.
I don't understand the epistemic distinction. No one has access to an objective truth.
Agree
@deneesherpather9608 You mentioned epistomology in your sentence but yet also say there is no foundation for the truth. Thats what epistomology is. A justification for the truth. Objective truth based on moral principles exists within the realm of teleology (doctrine of design and purpose in the material world), and epistomological foundations are reason and justification for those truths.
In the case of western thinking, the driving philosophical presuppositions are very strong and continue to show good reason for following them. Western thinking traces all the way back to Plato and Aristotle B.C.
Those traditions of thinking are so deeply ingrained in western culture, which has influenced the whole world. You would know this if you bothered to look into ancient history, instead of espousing unreasonable claims.
1:20 this FEELS like she is saying; "i wish i hadn't made irreversible changes to my body because that was who I really was. And now I regret listening to all the crazy people around me."
If she regrets it, where was this resolve back then? Is she so weak willed that she felt she had to trans because others told her?!? Perhaps a psycologist would have been a better open.
That’s exactly what I noticed too!
Not really, sadly.
Born a dude, forced to be a girl IMO
Too many yes men (or women)
First! Ellen is someone who strikes me as traumatized and a textbook example of how not to handle trauma
There is a timeline. Ellen spent like 2 years hiding from everyone, talking only to Alex Skarsgard, and then she came out as gay claiming he had given her the strength to be herself. I think either he or someone else assaulted her and it started this because as soon as that door opened it just got worse and worse.
Still kinda funny. No pity for fooIs 🤷♂️. In the 90s we got tats and piercings… your FADS are extreme and dangerous. It isn’t reaI and you are harming youth.
Gross. Let's do better in 2025 and not beg for attention from youtubers. Take care.
She reminds me of Corey Feldman in some ways.
"How to destroy your mental-health."
I read the book he wrote. I had to stop. This person has felt like a victim their entire life. He had some examples of "trauma" and "not being seen/loved by his parents" while describing fucking normal circumstance and actually quite present parents.
Can you please elaborate?
He*
She is a loser
absolutely this. i have felt similar issues as i’m generally quite a sensitive individual but i can’t understand this whole victim mentality thing
They were traumatized by Hollywood.
Used to think she was such a great and quirky actress. Loved all of the things she was in, especially Juno. Great film. Then "he" changed the character in Umbrella Academy and realized whatever was special about Ellen Paige is gone and just this clearly miserable mentally ill person. I would not be at all surprised to find out that she was abused in Hollywood and it really messed her up. Really sad.
she actually was abused
I'm a massive Trailer Park Boys fan, and whenever I watch the early seasons and a young Ellen Paige pops up it throws the heck out of me. I used to get a kick out of seeing her because you can very clearly see the beginnings of a fun and talented actress, and its not that I don't enjoy the character or anything anymore, it's more that it just makes me feel kinda sad inside for whoever E.P. has become now 😒😕
I'm feeling very much like some trauma started there for her on that set ☹
I think the same thing, add to their sickly look, I think they went thru something & are trying to take control in other was
I actually think she is realizing what the world looks like as a man. it plainly sucks you get beaten down everyday and no one cares about you. welcome elliot to being a man!
Ellen is so broken…. So sad what she did to herself.
No amount of “transitioning” is going to take away her sadness.
Maybe these celebs are paid to “transition” and then push it.
Nah don’t be stupid
I've actually thought the same thing.
It feels like he/she is trying to gaslight themselves into being happy
It has to paint a picture that everything is great..... Or the agenda doesn't work.
BINGO!
look up her personal trainer Pasternak and Ye then it’ll all make sense
Agreed, it's pitiful to watch.
duh? all the massive hate and massive cyberbvll (y)ing she receives isn't the cause right?
He is unconsciously shaking his head "no" as he tells his younger self to embrace his "authentic self". 😔
its like she wants to vomit when shes saying it cuz she knows its a fugging lie.
Good attention to detail. Yes, that isn't the physical response of someone who's truly happy.
Dead giveaway that she doesn't believe what she's saying. But she's too far along to go back. I do not predict that we will see her around in a few years. She had mental problems and probably PTSD and transitioned instead of getting the therapy she needed. Now she can't keep the misery out of her every gesture, facial expression and word.
I took this message as "Just be yourself and don't let anyone tell you that you need to change." rather than "You did the right thing" kinda message.
She keeps lying to herself.
I remember when Ellen/Elliott first came out as a lesbian. The joy and relief on her face at the time, the glow and how supportive everyone was. She was happy for a while and then... emptiness. I honestly think what happened was a culture shift and feeling like "what's next? Now we have to one up being a lesbian." It was too mundane. So this is where the situation has left us. I can only hope for the best.
I think it was super weird that Umbrella Academy's writing was catering to Elliott Page's identity with each season. First, the character Vanya was in a straight relationship in S1. Then they were a lesbian (not even considering bisexuality) in a WLW relationship in S2. And then they became a trans man in S3. It was just odd to change a character just cos of the actor.
Like, they're an actor??
Let them act?? If they have to be a straight woman in a scene, can't they just do that?
Impossible it would hurt their feelings and sense of validation.@@spectre9340
Yes, she had a wife, Emma Portner, who seems to have been genuinely good for her. But transitioning wrecked her marriage, among other things in her life. Sad.
@@kate_cooperIt's because Emma probably wanted a woman who knew she was a woman. Clearly this was too much for her. I don't blame her for checking out.
Part of me feels like there was a shame Elliot was feeling when lesbian, and possibly changed to male to feel more heteronormative and avoid said shame.
Seems like “Elliot” is trying to convince “himself” more than anyone watching.
People like “him” always are because deep down, they don’t even believe themselves
The head shaking no is very telling
Well she did start off saying this was to her younger self. Like what? We can’t time travel. It’s not like her “younger self” is gonna see this video 10 years ago or something. And if she did, something tells me she wouldn’t believe a word just by looking at how she turns out in the future.
So no, the fact she referred to it as her younger self shows she is battling within herself. It’s basically her way of not admitting that she has yet to grow up and out of that phase. She’s trying to put on a strong face but deep down, she is crying out.
@ her younger self hopefully would take one look at that video and say, “If that’s joy, you can keep it!”
All female to male trans people just look and act in their mannerisms like small gay men. Not that there is anything wrong with gay men, but I doubt that is truly the masculine image they were going for. The only one who really looks like a man is Chas Bono.
This was a refreshing channel to find. I'm not transphobic, but the activism does nothing to move scientific understanding forward so that these folks can find peace and happiness.
I was surprised to hear the host say he was female. He seems to be handling his dysphoria in a healthy way. I'm glad to learn from sensible people like this.
The host is a transvestite !😮
She evokes sadness in others. We can’t all be wrong about that.
I believe Ellen/Elliot Page has experienced some kind of a trauma and was deeply uncomfortable in their female/feminine body. Hollywood can do that to someone.
Sadly I believe this is the case for a lot of trans people. Not all of course, but trauma especially extreme trauma causes dissociation and it’s understandable why someone who faces any kind of sexual trauma in particular would want to find a way to distance themselves from their body (especially for women) if they felt their body was partially to blame for the abuse they endured.
Yes! I said this on another comment. Hollywood is disgusting, especially if you are a young smol woman (or young boy/man for that matter).
Parents, don't let your kids be actors. No good can come from it.
That’s probably the case
That’s what I’d bet too.
This is bang on. Everything about her transition is routed in trauma imo.
I have no comment on Elliot's trans joy... and whether he is happy or not. He is an adult, and he can make his own decisions, and if he is happy with his choices, then great. Just like I would never judge you Marcus for transitioning as an adult and how "happy" you are about it, based on the way you act in one video. The only issue I have with Elliot is his beliefs about children transitioning... and his over-activism.
She 😏
I feel like mental illness isn't an area where you step back and go, they'll be okay. Ppl with unchecked mental health issues can become dangerous for others, I've seen it happen and so has CIT in houston. We should care and we should be actively pursuing solutions in aiding these men and women in figuring this all out in love and support and a bit of science. ❤
I couldn’t agree more. I don’t agree with letting children make irreversible changes to their body. I think about me as a child and in my teens, there is NO way that I was mature enough to make that kind of a decision!
It's weird how someone who thought they were doing so much help did so much harm.
Tragic, but it’s mostly hubris. Lessons learned
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
The path to hell
'People don't do bad things because they think they're evil. People do bad things because they think they're right'- Tom Cruise quote but not exact..
@@Notawesomeatall7 I get what you mean. Yet, I think the odd and deeply sad part here is - I think this is a trauma response. I think some weirdo Hollywood creep made her hate everything feminine about herself due to abuse. And in turn the medical institution (that needs to be funded by more and more surgeries) enables her - and then she turns that pain into hope for the young. I just deflate when I think of all the lines and vectors.
I was raised in a cult and got out a few years ago. This has big cognitivie dissonance vibes of someone in a cult. Don't know if Page is starting to realize it or is just miserably clinging to it hard, but that's what I'm getting from the presentation. Pity cult members, they're brainwashed - but hold the line against societal changes they want because it'll serve the cult, not society.
Congrats for getting out!!
Same and that's why I feel I can sense the false mask of 'yay we're happy we love this life is amazing' ...
Agree. Also escaped a cult at 18. My senses are heightened due to having to discern lies from compulsory speech. Pages face, voice, body language words don’t match the message. I see a distressed propagandist. Congrats on getting out. Navigating the world post cult, and noticing the liars (witting or unwitting) can be lonely and strange, but it beats the alternative.
You mind sharing what cult you were in? Congrats on leaving!!
She's definitely clinging. She's been looking miserable for a long time now.
It seems like these activists are mistaking joy with contentness. Joy is a fleeting moment of happiness. Content on the other hand is a calm that is continuous and comforting. Having joy all the time can be desensitized requiring more higher emotions.
Then they're right. I'm sure many of them have moments of joy, especially early on in their transitions. But very few of them seem content.
Yeah exactly, I was thinking this. I see this a lot among married women, expecting the husband to “make her happy”. Seems the same with gender-dysphoric individuals wanting to feel happy.
I think we have enough wisdom to say confidently that chasing happiness is often counterproductive. Happiness is always fleeting, will never last. Maybe you can build a life with more “blissful moments” like Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show seems to encourage.
But any older and wiser person will tell you that focusing on building contentment as opposed to happiness is a better bet and this usually includes building a family or community connections, etc. Contentment is more sustainable and can grow over time. Chasing happiness can easily lead to hedonism and emptiness.
Ironic how this “therapy and wellness culture” is often quite deluded while putting on these airs of superior wisdom and morality.
They're mistaking mania for happiness.
Wow that was perfectly said and totally true!
So that's what it was, thanks.
Shea not happy, she was a beautiful woman lesbian. What is wrong with that? Nothing she is not being true to herself
I really think a great deal of lesbian and gay people are convinced by others that they must be trans, because of massive homophobia.
Would have been so much better off just staying a woman and just looking masculine. It would have been hot. Now she just seems like this sad, insecure like puppy. You just want to give her a hug because she seems like she’s about to burst into tears… On every interview I’ve seen.
The message I see being pushed is you can’t be happy unless you’re transgender; not lesbian or gay or straight etc.
Trans ideology is homophobic af
Well, lesbians get hated too, so whether you’re a lesbian or trans you’re cooked either way in society.
He couldn’t possibly be miserable because this world is a clusterfk right now and removing his basic human rights to exist.
The fact that he/she/they/them/that/what can no longer sustain eye contact for more than half a second tells you how underconfident (she) feels about this ridiculous change.
I feel really sorry for Elliott. I believe she was an abuse victim, she was (and is) mentally unwell, she needed real help, and she was very badly let down by everyone involved. She is obviously unhappy and unhealthy, her marriage fell apart, and she's pretty much tanked her career. The hormone treatments seem to have damaged her body and she may well also be anorexic. I'm sure she's ultimately shortened her lifespan and will probably not live past her fifties. It's an utterly tragic situation.
She also has some narcissism going on and tries to attack other actors for no reason whatsoever (-->Chris Pratt)
I agree.
She's one bad day away from offing herself. It's sad
its sad, after ellen transitioned, it ruined umbrella academy for me because it added absolutely nothing to the show
Same. It felt so forced when Vanya "became" Victor. I wish they had just recast the role 😑
I know what you're talking about. It's as if they can't have plane old lesbians on shows anymore and it's p.ssing me off. Every time they have a lesbian in anything now part of the "character building" is making her trans. "Effeminate" men are allowed but not "masculine" women.
indeed! especially because a transition could have fit in the topics like time travelling / parallel universes. like, one is a boy in a parallel universe. however, a haircut isnt a transition rip
@@kytiladdy holy shit that is SMART! how did they not think of that????
@@StrangeSeagull I don't get it, why they changed the name? Vanya is already a boy's name, it could make more sense...
I haven't see Page look happy since he transitioned, Its so sad.
She
She thinks men can't be happy or smile. She's playing a role and is mimicking all the men she's ever surrounded herself with.
*she
As an older person, I remember a young Jodie Foster’s rise to fame. Classy, smart, talented and professional, she didn’t allow her personal life to interfere with her career. If only “Ellen” had looked to her as a role model.
Good comparison, they had the same kind of energy. Jodie could have easily been another child star burnout plus of course that weird thing. But she chose to control her career and life.
Foster also took time off from acting to earn a degree from Yale, back when that actually meant something.
Jodie Foster's mother never left her alone in Hollywood, supervised her career and was always present in her auditions and rehearsals. She also urged her to go to college instead of jumping immediately into an adult career, and round out herself outside of the industry. That's why she's one of the few well-adjusted former child stars, and a successful, classy, mature actress, with her own actually private life and family. Page's parents, whether due to negligence, calculation, or genuine naivety, let him go to dinner alone with some Hollywood guy at 16, and he almost raped him to "cure" him of the lesbianness.
This person Elliot always seems so deeply sad and hurt. To the point where I worry for them. Granted, obviously, I do not know Ellen/Elliot. It’s just that Ellen had a bright sparkle in her eyes. It was natural, just her being her. Now, that spark is gone, and I don’t see a happy person. Wishing peace, love and light for all.
Internalised homophobia is what I think Elliott is dealing with and I definitely felt like that was almost a don't follow what I've done if she could speak to younger self
Very true. There's an interview on the channel Soft White Underbelly, with a detransitioner who brought that to my attention. They had transitioned due to shame of being a man who was attracted to other men. They also had a super religious family that did not accept them until they transitioned into the opposite sex. But in the end they found out it was just trauma and that internalized homophobia that made them change their gender.
All of their stories involves internalized self hate. Some were more horrific but for the most part they all tell the exact same story. But they don’t all pursue their goals of fitting in. They think they can just force everybody to accept them at everybody else’s expense while they do nothing to earn it. They are lazy in other words but still crave attention. That’s why they are the most known for making videos basically telling the world “LOOK AT ME!!!” But then their supporters ask us “why do you care?”. They be literally getting into people’s faces and we are told to just let them.
Stop with the internalised nonsense.
That's what it sounded like to me as well. Stay who you know you are and not this new and different thing that has been pushed so much in recent years.
Internalised homophobia AND, as a result of being sexually abused, her hatred of her female body. It's so sad.
In Page's case, I wonder how much of it has to do with just being in Hollywood and some of the roles she played as a girl. A lot of "Strike back at the patriarchy" in their imdb.
I wonder if AAP (autoandrophilia) is within Page.
Page admitted to being a victim of child sexual abuse, so that's likely a huge factor in how they are today. Incredibly sad.
You can look back to things Elliot did when she was young, like Hard Candy and movies and tv stuff even years before that (she was on my radar pretty early on). She pretty much always was a tomboy and only became more feminine for a role when it was really required.
Also how she as an actress was treated and sexualized and pushed to put a lot of effort into looking pretty while most men managed to avoid that and be allowed to wear what they want and go low effort with hair etc.
Strike back at the patriarchy by becoming the patriarchy. Very odd.
It’s like he’s always about to cry
This is heavy trauma i think and i feel sorry for this person
Yeah me too.
Same. The whole situation is just very sad
I don't think 'heavy' trauma at all tbh
Unpopular opinion but Eliot might be happy and "his true self" but regrets heavily being stuck with this "puberty voice"
I have a sinking feeling she is running from something dark that happened while filming Juno
All I know about her time in Juno was that she was sleeping with Olivia Thirlby.
Not sure what else happened during production.
Page got this “trapped in a cult/scientology/hide the pain Harold Meme” energy.
It’s like someone is holding something of Pag”es hostage and Page has to play that game or else
May I say, after the transition I don't think I have ever seen him smile... I mean, even in this video, he looks super depressed. You ever see Jack Nicklson in 89 Batman where he has that permanent smile? Well Page looks like that but frowning.
I saw your comment and I'm like there must be a photo on Google images and LITERALLY NOTHING. It's so sad.
Her
It looked like he started to smile then stopped
Elliott Page just looks so sad. This persons face looks in pain. When she was a girl she was so pretty.
"The truth" is science and fact. "My truth" is mysticism. Wild that one of these narratives is being pushed.
Poor Ellen. I think Hollywood ruined her
She’s surrounded by crazy left wing nut jobs in California.
Hollywood eats people alive.
It does so many people, and it seems especially women and girls, look at what's happened to Amanda Bynes, it's tragic.
Who you hang out with matters! Being a transvestite is on trend for many years!
I like and appreciate you Marcus. You are honest. I've learned so much thanks to you, Blair and Buck. And indeed Elliot is not entirely honest in my opinion. I think he's disappointed about not being in the spotlight enough.
Absolutely! This was a happily married woman with a fine career, and it’s always seemed like an attention thing to me, which is very sad
Being unable to talk or think about anything except yourself is a sure path to depression. Buck and Blair are well adjusted. They're presenting as they please but recognize sex can't really change.
She.
Check out Alexis Blake, she's a lovely person and a very sensible transwoman.
As someone whos trans, I also really dislike this 'my truth' stuff. I appreciate your honesty, and your work to clarify and correct these issues and misrepresentations
Ellen Page is the poster girl for “not joyful.”
She’ll talk about how she’s struggled with internalised homophobia FOR YEARS, and yet she doesn’t connect it to what she’s doing rn
I don't think Page realized it would mean end of any on camera acting offers.
I think she's psychotic
She was banking on that male privilege applying to her
Unfortunately true. Hollywood wanted her when she could pull off the young, sassy ingenue. Not the short, perpetually on the brink of tears boy/man.
Marcus thank you dearly for being a truth teller. You have my utmost respect and your integrity shines through. Sending you love 🫶🏻❤️
Ever since I saw this video I’ve been worried about Elliot Page. I have NEVER seen pain like this on a person who didn’t go on to come-it Sue-ih-side. I’m terrified that she is going to end up doing something that no one wants her to do. I pray that I’m wrong and that she is feeling the trans JOY that she says she is. She really needs to be honest with herself and love herself for her reality, not to lie to herself and live a pretend life. How sad.
Why are you saying she
Every time I see Page, I get this strange feeling, that he's holding back lots and lots of tears. Like, one moment and he would cry all eyes out!
Elliot wears a masculine look as a disguise to protect themselves from sexual predators. It's just a tragic defense mechanism that they're employing to stay safe. I feel really bad for Elliot/Ellen, a lot of people's actions have forced them to feel that this is the only option they have left.
She was a great actress.
I am sad that she did this to herself.
I hope she will snap out of this madness because right now she seems so broken.
She has already done so much irreversible damage to herself...
I hope whatever was the reason for her to take up this role was worth it. Though it doesn't really seem like it was so far
There's no way she'll snap out of it. It's impossible. She has gone wayyyyyy to far. Once you "transition " There's no coming back from that! It's the furthest you can go. When you don't feel any different after that it will bring on severe depression. Unfortunately I see some serious self harm happening in the near future
Thanks for being grounded in reality.
I find your content refreshing and authentic.
I also appreciate Alexis Blake and Blaire White. ❤❤❤
The "Joy" shown on Elliot's face reminds me of the "happiness" on Neil Armstrong's face in the videos of the press conference after Apollo 11. Hint: they both look very, very sad.
👏👏👏👏👏 indeed
Your right because that's what they will be remembered for .
Lie show up on the face
I think not a single person in Page's life would dare to voice their concerns, or would be dismissed as an -ist or a bigot if they did. If youre in an echo chamber, feeling depressed, then suddenly these extreme measures seem reasonable.
We all need people who love us, who are willing to pull us back from the brink and say "I think what you're doing is wrong" without fear of reprisals, even if we choose not to listen. I dont think Elliott has anyone like that, at least not anymore.
“Stunning and brave trans person“ or “miserable.“ hundred percent miserable. You nailed it. Unhappy people that don’t want anyone else to be happy.
It's heartbreaking to see this when you compare it to how free and happy she seemed after coming out as a lesbian.
Unfortunately, it must not have been enough. People were too accepting to her coming out. To the point where there was no outrage, no backlash, and worst of all, no attention.
It must be difficult as an actor, where you make money from how you are able to use your face and body to convey a message, to change these aspects of yourself. In the umbrella academy I felt like Page performance was subpar in the last two seasons. I felt a lot of his energy was focused inward instead of being present to telling the story. That seems quite juvenile, especially as he is an adult and should be able to put the focus more outwardly. The obsession with self seems to have gotten in the way of his talent and carreer. I hope I explained how I view this properly. English is not my first language
Vanya stopped being a great character and "Elliot" the activist took her place.
A lot of 'her' energy..
Interesting video, thank you.
Although I think this video did an OK job with it, I often feel quite uneasy about all the people constantly commenting on E. Page's situation and putting them in the spotlight to such an extreme degree. The reason for that is precisely because it seems kind of obvious that there's something deeply wrong going on there, but it's not so clear what it is. I think it's possible that Page is in some strange permanent state of detachment after something tremendously traumatic happened, but I have no idea. Their expressions and and the way they speak is just uncanny.
Oh and also, I'm really annoyed when people post their old photos and say "look how happy she looked!!" because celebrities (especially female ones) have to keep up a certain appearance, and it's impossible to know how they really feel on the inside most of the time. I mean, they're literally professional actors, right? What makes you think you can tell whether their smile is a genuine one, or performed just to look pretty because female celebrities have to look pretty? I just hope Page will find some kind of actual happiness one day.
I think Page was sexually abused and assaulted as a minor in Hollywood
It’s really sad to imagine what may have been happening behind the scenes with what we know about Hollywood and it’s protecting of predators
As an AuDHD woman, I learned to "mask" when I was a child. I'm 47 now, and unmasking is basically impossible (though I'm trying.) Learning to "Look how they want you to" is definitely a thing.
What has ME confused is that if Page was always masking to hide BEFORE transition, why not now? Because I feel like we're seeing a more truthful "face" in this video than before. And that's puzzling. It makes me wonder if it's just that things are so much worse that this is the best they can do, even with masking.
Yeah, and he said page became trans, and then suddenly became a trans activist. Like he doesn't seem to see the connection. Some of his brain cells are really damaged.
sorry not sorry. Page is the one putting themselves in the center of attention and speaking on this subject. We are allowed to respond based on what they are putting out. You are however, right about how young women and girls in hollywood are treated, the way Page appeared on the surface told nothing about what was going on behind the scenes. That seems to be part of the issue, it seems some unresolved trauma that Page didn't confront or was misdiagnosed as being "transgender" and has lead to them transitioning and being miserable now.
people have their reasons for being skeptical about the topic of transition especially when it's aimed as a cure all for everything wrong with teenagers.
Ellen was such a beautiful woman. The most heartbreaking "transition" in Hollywood. Such a loss of an amazing actress
The left pushed me to see two boxes. My Christian father in one last attempt to sway me from transitioning said, “most people are an embodiment of traits that are both masculine and feminine, as well as some traits that can apply to both in their nature, we’re Venn diagrams, with men usually but not always having more masculine traits and women the opposite”.
I like your dad he sounds very grounded. I am also a Christian and my faith keeps me strong
I personally think, that Page is also regretting divorcing Emma for this.
i think it was emma that wanted to leave bc she is a lesbian and didn’t want to be w/ a man
Every time I hear “my truth” I just think “but your truth is based on a lie” and I think Ellen Page was trying to tell her younger self NOT to make the mistake she’s made… because Ellen, darling, you look in pain 😢 You were beautiful exactly like you were ✌🏻🇬🇧
Marcus, i found your channel trough Buck Angel, i've been watching you for a while. Its important the message you put out here in the world , and more people need to see it. I hope you had a wonderful day. About the video i agree with you 100%. (Sorry for my english, is not my first language)
Your English is great!
Is there something wrong with me? I don’t feel like a gender. I just feel like me.
As a total outsider in this arena, i see an individual who had a flourishing career turn almost dead. Could the joy not be there because of a ruined profession? Its tather unprecedented.
I don’t think Page is doing any good for the trans community from what I’ve heard from Trans friends! They just want to be left in peace to live their lives of their choosing - they’re not hurting anyone. Respect and compassion for anyone who is going through genderdisforia ❤
I feel like Elliott is actually saying to her younger self "dont listen to everyone around stay as you are and leave it at that" in a way that sounds acceptable
He was such a petite woman that now as a "male" looks like a very young teenager, but I guess as long as he is happy
Does she seem happy to you?
But it doesn't seem he is
She*
He clearly isn't happy he looks even more miserable and sad
I think he looks like a teen who has had a very rough life and is prematurely ageing. The overall verdict is that Page doesn't give happy vibes.
"I feel so happy"
(On the verge of crying)
PS - I know you are young, but Trans Sexual used to mean someone who cross dresses for erotic purposes. Trans Gender was feeling the wrong gender. To use those terms interchangeably is WILD to me. trans-sexual is a man in a dress. trans gender is a man in a woman's body. Or have these terms changed over time and I'm just living in the past.
he's also danish. i guess he didn't know
unfortunately Marcus, after seeing this new video --and I hate saying it -- but I also see your own joy being drained out of you, because you keep having to repeat the same thing over and over and it must be infuriating!! So I just want to encourage you to stay strong, because we all love ya. Don't let the frustration take you over.
What poetry, Marcus is saying that Elliot looks sad( what the eff is business is it if his, he can look sad, angry. Should we take the freedom of people allowing that.
But the poetry is, you than say Marcus himself looks sad. You don't see the problem with that. The hypocrity
You really must be missing some brain cells
I feel the same.
Covering such topics can also drain you mentally
You talk with such clarity logic and intelligence . I wish there were more of you ❤
it sucks to me how the person ended up being who they are now. i remember page as treena from trailer park boys. but nobody can control their life, but page.
Remembering her in tpb now almost made me tear up
Ugh, so happy to hear you comment on the "my truth" statement. It's bothered me so much! I think it was in the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial where I first started really hearing that. She'd be like, "I'm telling MY truth" and it drove me MENTAL. Like YOUR truth is not THE truth. Then it'd seem whenever I'd pick up on it elsewhere it was always the same thing, just people using it to say you have to believe what I'm saying because I'm putting the word "truth" in front of it. it's BS.
Anyway, I just found your channel with this video, and really appreciate your voice and insight. Happy to be a new subscriber.
What we need to do is teach people what it feels like to be in the mind of someone without gender dysphoria.
I am 35, female and I have been told by young people that I am trans. This was after I told them how it is inside my brain. I don't wake up and feel female. I don't feel male or female. I often have disgust at my female body. I sometimes feel masculine and sometimes more feminine. I have many stereotypical male traits. I often would love to be male. None of this male me a man though nor have I considered transitioning. These things are normal. This is what is being confused by so many.
My question is who forced him/her into this transition. I pity her, it just seems like he/she destroyed her life for nothing. It makes no sense, she just seems sad and miserable.
Society, and that transiting is being used as a way to be seen as “cool,” or “unique.” I doubt that 90 percent of trans people even have gender dysphoria in the first place and that most of them are just gay.
I don’t think his wife pushed for this. Don’t know who else would’ve had such a big influence on Elliot.
I feel so bad for Elliot …truly tragic
Thank you for the emphasis on "the truth." I'm weary of the incessant adjustment of meaning.
I suppose the current quality of education allows younger people to think truth is that flexible. For now the only time truth is evaluated accurately is when you disagree with them.
Hang in there, Marcus. The wheels of correction turn slowly, but they do turn.
What an interesting video. Don’t get discouraged about UA-cam’s censorship: what you’re doing is important. Bless you
Its extremely refreshing for a Trans person to have a grounded and realistic outlook on the situation. Hearing you say "these things can not be changed" is nice to hear. You have every right to live your life how you want to. Dress how you want. Look how you want. Change your name. Be how you want. Society will support and embrace you. But you'll never change WHAT you are.
Why does she look like an old librarian? 🤔
Thank you for another great video Marcus! ❤
OMG!!! Thank you for pointing the whole “my truth” bs!!! I absolutely HATE that term. There’s no your truth or my truth; there’s only THE truth
Happy New Year, Marcus! Looking forward to a better 2025. 😊🥰✌🏻
I love watching LGBT channels of people, who haven't gone crazy yet. Because I've had this feeling for a long time that I'm walking through a minefield, and that my opinion could turn all of humanity against me. It's nice to know, that my sanity is still intact, and that there are people with a similar opinion.
I have a lot of sympathy for those people genuinely suffering from body dysmorphia. Its important that we admit and publish that there is a social contagion element to trans identifying. Affirmative care wouldnt be allowed in any othef medical arena and imagine the uproar if the reverse was happening? We need to offer struggling kids love and support to work through their lives and disabuse them of the idea that changing your gender is some silver bullet solution. Thank you for your voice on this very important topic.
I remember in high school when being Bi-sexual became popular. I watched 100% hetero schoolmates hook up for the popularity of it...they are all married to men now hahaha. I am too but I actually like both men and women haha. Not a fad for me..
Very well put.
Well said. Oddly comforting too.
Hmmm, video is not helpful at all, judging from the fact that its 7 minutes and trying to assess if a trans person "seems" happy via a single video - and saying the same thing over and over again. "He does not look happy at all!" Yeah, maybe he was having a bad day or a tooth ache or something along the line, doesnt mean his whole decision and life choices should be questioned on only ONE short clip. What a waste of energy.
And we will never get those 7 minutes back, unfortunately. Glad I’m not the only one in the comments who is sceptical…no critical thinking went into this video…at all.
i know, right? i think prodding into any celebrity’s personal life is wrong but this whole video rubbed me the wrong way. i disagree wholeheartedly but people have their opinions 🤷♀️
I appreciate your perspective so much, I hope you continue to share your thoughts - we as a society are very much in need of such critical, rational and down-to-earth assertions!
I saw you for the first time a day ago and I learned since more about transsexuality than during my whole life. That was SO refreshing to hear someone speak on this topic calmly, rationally and truthfully, I cannot be more grateful to you for enlightenment and insight. You and Buck Angel really helped me with understanding trans people and even myself, as I was really confused for some time about my gender (though it's in the past, I'm fine with myself now). Thank you so much for it! You both also helped me formulate some thoughts crucial for a part of a novel I'm writing right now, that were the exact ideas I was close to form but could not quite reach. It was about your attitude to the society as being a part of minority, especially feeling like a victim all the time and seeing haters everywhere. You are great and you help people, I greatly appreciate what you're doing. Please keep going and good luck!
And sorry for my English, it's not my first language. I hope what I wanted to say is somehow clear))
My truth = My perception = "my percieved reality"
Wasn't her voice deeper in the Umbrella Academy?
that was intentional on their part for the character or in post they tweaked the voice
@@na-z4l Wtf. I've watched Umbrella Academy in the German dub. They've picked a young male voice actor for Page and I found that so unnatural, especially because the last scene from the second season was re-recorded and freshly dubbed. Like, it has been 2 seconds and bamm the voice was deep. Huh?? How does it make sense? I mean, nobody in real life would have a deep voice the minute they decide to be trans. I hoped that the transition for the viewer would've been better in the original dub, but now you're telling me they've tweaked the voice as well? Why?! For me as someone watching the show, it was super irritating.
(Just to clarify: S1 & S2 had a female voice actress. S3 a male)
WOW, I have to say, you are brave as heck to come out and speak the truth about this stuff! It is refreshing to hear someone tell it as it is!
I was thinking the same thing. So rare to hear this and It's great that they can be so open. I didnt know that ppl were talking openly about this. Thank you for doing this.
I think he's being sincere with what he's been through. It was a lot. He was not allowed to be himself. He was not allowed to go through his phases that would let him understand himself. That said, I absolutely agree with my truth = my perception. And he seems so sad, looks so unhealthy. It's concerning. He's being used as a puppet. It breaks my heart. He looks like he's given up on finding a place to belong to.
Who uses him? I thought Elliot Page is a very rich, grown up actor and free to do whatever he likes.
She
True happiness does not look like that. Your face exposes your true feelings.
Wait ...sex and gender arent the same sex cant be changed but gender can be
Gender is just a phenotypic representation of your own percieved view of man or woman on the social scheme and regardless of your sex you can identify with whatever you feel comfortable with.
This is a weird deafetest stance to take and is more harmful than good.
You're 100% right Marcus, but I feel really bad for Elliott, it's actually kind of heartbreaking, when they speak I just see pain
You are such a down-to-earth realist on this topic. I was sceptical at first, but as the video progressed you impressed me more and more with your commentary and maturity. Big hug + like. Happy 2025.
To be fair Marcus, I know very masc transmen who transitioned in the like 2003 who have way more femme sounding voices than myself. It's either due to the age they were when HRT started, improper dosage, genetics 🤷🏻♂️ or its forced. Most times tho, I don't think people have control over it. There's plenty of TAs with extreamly masculine voices who aren't trans. Think the voice was a nit pick here.
Hi Elliot. We love you. We do not judge you. Life is hard. Everything is temporary. We're going through it too.
i don't think her surgery is "temporary"...
If you don't understand the difference between sex and gender, then you need to attend Sociology 101 a few more times. Please educate yourself.
Am I the only person wo thinks ellen page is starting to look like jordan peterson lol
Oh no! Must be a Canadian thing. 🇨🇦
