Love this machine! Have a ‘92 model myself with only 15K miles on it in the best delivered colors ever: Pink fairings, gray chassis and white wheels. Drive it weekly for the last 4 years. “Easy” and accessible technology. Lasts forever if you ar good for it. Greatings from Holland ❤
As a gs500 rider I love how this bike handles. It is awsome to see how it can perform in the hands of a skilled rider. I am sure you can make any bike sing. Thanks for showing off the GS for all us guys who don't have mega bucks.
A prime example showing getting all the way over has nothing to do with excessive speed! Brilliant riding. I went to Portland race way back in the day, my first time on a track in the rain. We warmed up in the parking lot doing pretty much this same thing in the rain. This is in the 1980's on street tires.
About to start getting into track days and Ive got an old gs500 sitting with 10 layers of dirt on it, about to pull it out and get it running so I can practice like this, ever think you'll do a gsxr front end and rear wheel swap, I know there's a mono shock swap as well, some race fairings are on the market too, thanks for the videos man! Awesome content
Awesome Brandon i am glad to hear it! I will be doing a few little upgrades to my latest gs but no plans on anything that drastic, i will most likely rebuild most of the stock parts and see what i can do about shaving some weight but as i use the bike for everything i will keep it mainly as a road bike Thankyou for your comment
Sorry man only just seen this comment, i am completely self taught. I got a gs500 with carpark practice in mind and everybody laughed at me saying it wouldn't help me improve my riding...... that is until we all did a trackday and i smoked them on their litre bikes. Just get one and chuck it about you will find what works for you.
Can someone compare this to a ninja 300 and SV650 for track days? Im new to riding, and I may get a GS because they’re a little cheaper. I want to know what I’m getting into, though.
Hi i have both the Gs500 and the Sv650 and have ridden the Ninja300 i will give some pros and cons for all three... 1 GS500 Pros Very tough engine and cheap to run, nothing i have ever ridden crashes better!! Nice handling and very easy/fun to ride fast, Parts are widely available Cons Awful for wheelies/stoppies, brakes aren't the best (i upgraded to efpa pads and ebc disc) and the bike will now roll up on the front end at 70, runs on carburetors which are a nightmare to repair if they go wrong ....... 2 SV650 Pros Tough engine with a decent spread of power, handles very well can achieve ridiculous corner speed even on stock suspension, crash fairly well, fuel injected so no messing around with carbs, brakes are decent with epfa pads and stock discs and calipers are easy to rebuild, parts everywhere, looks quite nice if you ride past fast lol..... Cons Can damage the engine if you are fond of wheelies (which is annoying because being a little v twin they just beg to be put up on the back wheel) some say has a snatchy throttle (engine braking can be a little harsh so will have to blip the throttle on downshifts to keep the back end in line) sounds like a Harley if you put a loud can on haha.........3 Ninja 300 Pros Solid little engine, Outrageous handling (and i mean outrageous!!) will change direction quicker than Lionel Messi and take a line better than Tony Montana, Look fantastic, cheap to run, absolute hoot to ride fast and very forgiving of mistakes.... Cons Lowest power of all three so maybe not suited to bigger tracks (would be amazing for kart tracks or something like Brands Hatch Indy layout) maybe doesn't crash as well as the other two due to very thin forks and cheap plastic fairings still not bad though, the 2012-onward models come with terrible abs which should be removed immediately if putting to fast road riding/track...... To be honest you can't go wrong with any of these three but i do have a massive soft spot for the Ninja300 as they are just ridiculous in the twisties but that is just me hope this helps you decide :)
@@Lakuppiipu I would like to know your opinion on Hyosung, too. Those things are so cheap. I'm just worried about reliability. I recently found a GT250 with 7k miles for 1500 USD. I know that's slow for a track bike, but the price is right.
@@mrmcbeth To be honest i don't know much about Hyosung could be great, could be rubbish just do some research maybe find a facebook group dedicated to the machine

Awesome, that is how i warm up on my trackdays also
You're an inspiration, sir.
Thankyou! I appreciate that
Very tidy and clean 🤙
Thankyou i find this drill helps you smooth out your throttle control
Nice!

Nice! What tires do you have?
what gear are you using?
How tall is the rider? Great skills btw
Great video! Would you mind sharing your techniques and drills that help you get to that point? Very impressive.
Not at all i will be making a video covering this shortly
@@Lakuppiipu I am looking forward to see this video!!!
👀Wow No Chicken Strips on those Tyres👍🍻
👍👍👍✌✌✌
What have you for Tires? 🤔 Brigstone? Metzler?
Ive started getting nearer that flattened out elbow down style but now my eyeline is going as i get lower. Helmet is blocking my view.
How low can you go :)
Amazing and inspiring skills- I guess it's a 140/70/17 supercorsa for the rear?
Yes Andy i used to roll off the tyre with a 130 the 140 allows for huge amounts of lean angle and also helps the bike to change direction very quickly
@@Lakuppiipu Thankyou mate
@@Lakuppiipu what pressure are you running on those tires? Front and Rear?
Hi mate, out oif interest did you attend any race schools in the UK, or was this just a result of watching youtube and trial and error?

Nice! Have you modified your gs before putting the knee/elbow down??
Thanks, modifications are clip on bars and braided lines other than that completely stock
No I just hang off it more
Bike as fast as its rider. This guy can beat guys on bigger and much faster bikes.
