excellent tutorial, but I can't find some of the control panels shown: "Rigging" for example: yet I have validated the rigify add-on...?

hello thank you for the tutorial. I don't have avastar but the workbench file instead. when I open it I try to switch to pose mode but it will not allow. do you have any suggestions to what I may need to do? I'm using blender 2.7
