All bands who actually enjoy what they do are always working on material even if it doesn't make a ecord they enjoy the writing process itself. Many bands have bullshit demos they make in their spare time just for fun because they enjoy doing it.
Some bands get hooked into the business and realize it's not actually the career path they wanted and simply finish their time out.

This is from the Xero era, There's a xero version with lost audio, Mark was what made Xero grunge, and this is mostly built for Mark
There never was a Wakefield recording. It was written during Xero but recorded in the Hybrid Theory era

That's clearly Chester on the track even though the date says 1998, when he wasn't in the band. Even so, this definitely sounds like a Xero song. Chester's vocals are in the style as Mark's. You can hear the same thing on tracks like "Reading My Eyes" and "Stick N Move" when Chester sings them.
It's a fact that Mike are bad at year dates. Also it may be year of when demo was firstly created (no matter how and how many times it was changed after).
That stuff was discussed in past years ).
Talking about Reading My Eyes (Xero Demo) which appear on this 20 Anniversary Edition is same demo (which was on original Xero tape) with Mark on vocals. But Stick'N'Move now is a different demo than it was on Xero tape and of course there is Chester on vocals now.
Mark Wakefield actually has a writing credit on this, so it started as a Xero song.
I hear another voice in the chorus. Maybe they recorded Chester voice on Mark's voice after he joined the band..

Meteora is the same way. I have a playlist of Meteora instrumentals on my account. The first 13 are the ones I’m talking about. Although some of them are demos of songs that did make it to the studio albums.
Listening to Linkin Park make me forget all my struggles.
This demo really motivates me to push through.
I know as long as I am alive, I will be running this endless race.

I was born in 06 and listening to this gives me vibes that I shouldn't have but I just do get them. And it also helps me out with my work and just makes me feel more functional because I feel goof when I listen to his music. It sucks that he passed in 2017. He could have still made some sick music.

I feel like the soul of this song, at least Mike's parts, lived on in Forgotten. I do love the part at 2:10 though, it's that pure 100% Linkin Park sound.

Linkin Park first founded in 1996 under the name "Xero" and had different vocalist, (Mark Wakefield) , also this song first recorded with Mark Wakefield when they still called "Xero" in November 17, 1998.
(in this song, The title says "1998" but it isn't Because in this song Chester on vocals and Chester joined the band in March 1999.)

Com certeza! eu iria achar muito foda se eles pegassem esse som antigo e continuassem, só o Mike já é bom demais. A perda do Chester é uma perda inestimável, mas dá sim pra continuar só com o Mike. Só tem que voltar a ter umas composições interessantes como as dessa época.
Alice In Chains continuou sem o Layne e Stone Temple Pilots continuou sem Scott Weiland, então vai ser bem simples continuar sem o Chester.

Sim, Mike deveria ter continuado assim, ele nas musicas lançadas ficou muito em segundo plano pra ficar colocando Chester nos holofotes, sendo que MIKE CRIOU A BANDA E DEVERIA SER O VOCALISTA PRINCIPAL COMO NO XERO, Mike apesar de ter aparecido pouco, o considero um dos melhores rappers da historia, e sem duvida tem a melhor voz do Rap, Chester é um bom vocalista mas não é nem metade do que dizem, e as músicas "solo" dele na banda são torturantes de ruins, tipo Numb, What Iv Done e Crawling (a demo de Crawling, chamada Blue, é infinitamente melhor).
Resumindo, Linkin Park era muito melhor nas suas demos e anos iniciais, o caminho que eles seguiram no Meteora foi muito conturbado, e Chester como unico vocalista principal foi uma escolha pessima.
