L Denke I mean this song sounds great and it seems weird because it's a demo and not considered a finished copy, it's in my opinion better than some of the finished products Linkin Park has made.
It just ended up on the cutting room floor because the band didn't feel it fit with the album. Sometimes it isn't the tracks overall merit, but how it fits in.
The synths/keys from this are the same as what Mike used for, “Running From My Shadow,” on his album “Post-Traumatic,” and it makes me really happy that a piece of this lived on. They come in @0:52 as the chorus starts in this track vs “Running From My Shadow” where these synths open that track. They’re the first things you hear.. I agree with everyone here that this should’ve been on Minutes To Midnight. It makes me happy there’s now a bridge between this song (and what it’s about) and Post-Traumatic which was a concept album about having to deal with loss and come out on the other side, and in Mike’s case the loss of Chester. That’s super touching ❤️🩹 RIP Chester 🙌🏼

I'm so thankful for the official releases they did on many of the demos for the Hybrid Theory EP! It would be awesome if they did that for some of the other songs like this one!

I used to listen these demos when I was 13 and only now that I'm 27 I realized that they're demos.
