When I went to college at 17 years old, I had two goals; earn a degree and find a husband. I was off the market within five months of entering college. He couldn't afford a wife at 19, and I had the luxury of time so I waited. He got on his A-game and earned his degree the semester before I graduated. He set up a home for us. We worked together to build a life and family. Married for 23 years so far.
Marriage doesn't just happen, we have to pursue it, and work at maintaining it.

I think marriage does happen when a woman gets herself together and makes finding a husband a priority. I married at 31 but it was after wasting time in my 20s and getting myself together mentally.

Kevin is so right. I was told to go to school and I don't need a man. My grandma who was born in 1913 always said find a husband so she taught me young to cook and clean and serve. When I got my degree, a man couldn't tell me sh!t. I regret that. So I went must of my adult life dating here and there and focused on advanced degrees and my career. Those degrees and my 6 figures never kept me warm in a cold lonely bed. I'm married now but I wasted so much time. That's my regret in life. And the sad part is I know at least 20 women who want what I now have, but my husband didn't have what I had, and a few tried to discourage me and turned their noses up. Had me second guessing myself. What I noticed is that our independence makes us look down on our brothers and disrespect them and have such disdain for them. It's sad. It's like we have to be reprogrammed to respect our men and realize material things and money don't mean squat if you're going through life alone.

She filled her daughter’s head with the same BS and now they’re both bitter, haggard, and single. Saddest part about the duo? I’m going throw my 2cents on why her husband cheated.
      1. He honestly wanted to live a single life as a married man.
      2. And I’m going with this one for sure...”The sexual part of their relationship went to “0” and he got tired of not having sex. She stated that she as recently divorced, meaning he was in it for years with possibly no problems, but when he got fed up with the lack of physical interaction he tip toed out and didn’t look back.
For some strange reason women “feel” like they do not have to be the freak for the husband. He can take care of home, be her shoulder to cry on, and be the father in their kids life, but how dare he want to have sex on the couch or want some personal attention Saturday morning. 🤦🏿‍♂️. “A happy wife is a happy life, but an empty sack will keep him coming back”.
And yes ladies we are that simple. 🤷🏿‍♂️ Women are emotional, men are physical.

I think this is debatable. It appears to be a generational situation. The women of generations prior did not have access to education. I think it's reasonable to suggest that many wanted an education, however, were not allowed socioeconomic conditions. Consequently, when access to education became readily available, many parents, particularly mothers, pushed education on their daughters. In other words, living life through their children and encouraging them to take advantage of opportunities they were once denied as women. We went from one extreme to the next.
