  • The Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier is the flagship of the French Navy.
This ship is the first and only nuclear-powered surface combatant vessel built in Western Europe. By 2019, France is the only country, outside the United States, to have completed the construction of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The French aircraft carrier is a major military and political asset enabling France to assert its authority worldwide.

the French have excellent engineers, they produce all their weapons, nuclear submarines, combat planes, tanks, aircraft carriers, artillery systems, ... everything. and this is remarkable in today's world, especially with the budget they devote to their defense which is 14 times less than the American budget. If all of Europe acted like the French, Europe would have by far the first army in the world and the most technologically advanced.

As of 2024, France operates one aircraft carrier: the Charles de Gaulle (R91)12. This formidable vessel serves as a mobile airstrip and warplane hangar, capable of carrying and deploying aircraft without relying on a local air base. The Charles de Gaulle has played a vital role in France’s naval capabilities and global operations.

Likewise as lovely as the French fighter’s are the Royal Navy fields better 5th gen F-35’s. Also the Royal Navy, have one of the best and longest aircraft carrier history’s behind the Americans. You’re a blind patriot and your whole point is just stupid. Yes of course the French carrier is impressive with amazing fighters, but pick a fight with a nation more on your level.

The French carrier is much less capable than RN ones because the French don't have capable fighters.Queen Elizabeth flies F-35B's,while these have less range and capabilities than A and C variants, it doesn't matter as once in the sky they can be refueled and they'd have a 100 to zero kill rate against French fighters.
Even the US does not fly F-35C's off of the Gerald Ford it will take time to get the elevators and EMALS systems up to combat readiness,I do like nuclear power, and France has the most clean energy in the world ,when they can get their reactors running, which most of them should be back in service just in time to save France tens of billions the Germans have to pay for LNG.

The USN regularly deploys multiple Super Carriers for at least 6 months at a time. How long can your Navy be deployed? At fleet speeds it takes more fuel to move a Super Carrier then the rest of the task force combined. This is why we kept our CVN'S while retiring the rest of our nuclear powered surface fleet at the end of the Cold War. USN Carrier taskforce resupply at sea while under way if they need something double quick our Super Carriers have C-2 cargo planes. No other Navy has this ability the USN has been doing it for half a century.

We can launch and retrieve each other's aircraft. The UK has two glorified LHD's and a handful of inferior airframes with no real cross platform capability. In a world where fossil fuels are becoming super expensive the French aren't going to be asking for fuel to move their carrier. Its not cheap, what nuclear power gives is lots of energy to power up and coming technology, rail guns, laser etc. The key thing people say about nuke power is it gives unlimited range which isn't true. All the surface escorts are not nuke powered and the ship still has to take on new supplies of food and water. If a nuke carrier sinks it will create an ecological disaster that would take 100s of years to clean up. The US can afford nuke carriers as they have a 700 billion budget.

Educate yourself instead of saying bullshit, the settlements cost a lot more money than they brought in. everything is falling apart since the countries gained their independence. No more serious schools, hospitals worthy of the name of road infrastructures etc ... I suggest you do your research and read serious documents,

So stop saying nonsense, your information is completely wrong. why African countries want the French to leave if this country pays bribes to leaders. On the other hand, get information directly from people in direct contact with Africans. the french, like most other countries use african resources yes, but in return for a lot of indirect aid, which other countries like russia and china do not do which are only there to exploit the African. they help these countries financially and industrially at first, while knowing that africa will not be able to keep its commitments and there, lack of luck for the africans, they will be required to put themselves completely at the mercy of these countries. we can see the result with montenegro which can no longer repay these debts with china and unfortunately, this china is setting up in return. africa is unfortunately unable to take charge of itself. many times many world countries which have known war have started from scratch and have been able to develop and these countries are now rich, they have worked, developed their skills, their industries. Africa has always failed to do this and always relies on others, they will never manage to take charge of each other, always wars, rivalries, presidents who get rich at the expense of inhabitants. not generalize of course, some countries are developing without outside help and it is very good to stop blaming everything on the colonizers and go ahead, try to fend for yourself.
