“Write cryptograms at all waking hours, tattoo the mail and all paper towels, I’m on the kitchen walls I may paint the house. “ aka he’s just doodling n tagging shit around his house. Love this song
@@ju4408 the metaphor was tenuous. But yeah, he def don’t need a novel to do it. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that he CAN do it, in just a song 🤙🏻
Aes is crazy good. "My dream home's like ten thousand deadbolts and less than no windows" the rest of this album is mindblowing too. Did you hear pizza alley? It's incredible
I do a karaoke cover channel, thanks for the idea of Jazz Hands; I'd missed that as yet. Subscribed and liked. Your reactions and analysis are in-depth and multi-dimensional, and your relay of your understanding, enjoyable and relatable. Keep having fun. Bullseye! Oh, Loved the Team Supreme message at the open. Great.
Aesop Rock is the most underrated artist in any genre. This album to me represents a journey through the various places hallucinogens take you. He clearly offers examples of various trips. Button Masher is a hidden gem about him and his buddies tripping in his apartment with a big cardboard box “spaceship” and the various ways their imagination and paranoia took the night. Pizza ally is likely a trip to experience ayahuasca. He even opens with a piece on the album being a guide to the spirit world like the album name says. I love the line “Evil see him as a vehicle to commandeer. Two fixed pupils all they say is “Ian’s not here.”” Kodokushi is fantastic. So is Attaboy and Fixed and Dilated. The whole album is great, but those are my favorites. The line “Crossroads bogey. I broker the deal first. I bag up a soul quick. I drag it between worlds first. Hold up.” Is one of my favorites verses in any genre.
You've reacted to his old stuff, right?! He's just a poet with a beat; it's unquestionably art. Simple beats, lyrics so complex their cadence has its own percussive nature about it. Metaphors that carry as themes through whole albums and evolve in severity & tone. Aesop is an underground legend. Even Shakespeare ain't got nothin' on his word-count.
I was going to comment "you need to hear more of Aesop" but then I heard you say dear mothafucka, and I know it's me that needs to dig more to watch the first time you heard this guy.
I don't pussyfoot, I make pot holes My path home's all drop zones, Flash bulbs and strobe lights, Roadsigns with crossbones Love these little bars here. In the same vein as the ones from Rabies: Sidewalks end with ponds and frog eggs Buried bones, and his very own blurry sasquatch vids
i love hearing that u listen to aes outside of reaction vids & this is a niiiiice one to add to the playlist. part that makes me LOL ALWAYS is how he ends 2nd verse. he goes off bout these intricate, challenging things he can do & then says "I ONCE ATE A WHOLE GLUE STICK IN LIKE 2 BITES" LMFAO! fave hidden treasure i didn't hear for 5+ years, "A little care package out of Where's Waldo, in a rare beige, no fair at all, dyed hair and all" LIKE WALDO WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP HIM BUT HE'S DRESSED IN BEIGE & DYED HIS HAIR SO IT'D BE HARDER FOR AES TO FIND HIM lol waldo usually be in red & white striped shirt. how would i find him if he dyed his hair & wore beige WHO THINKS OF THAT GENIUS??? AES
This whole album is 🔥🔥I had it on replay for at least a month when it came out and i still have no idea what 70% of the songs are about. This is truly music that only people who havent fried their brains can fully understand The rest of us just enjoy and try 😂 I guess its time to revisit it again. Will you consider reacting to Living curfew Its so damn good to me. there are no words to express how this song makes me feel. I just know I love it
You just need to do a deep dive in to the largest vocabulary in any art form to do with words he's used more different words in his rhymes than 96 % of authors had witten in all the books they have written in history thats insane
I've been saying it for years, Aes has pushed the envelope beyond lyricism.. I've coined the phrase VERBALIST.. the guy has evolved the entire spectrum of hip-hop.. I also think a larger part of Aes' verbal evolution was when he met up with Eyedea. . he was even there with Eyedea when he won the blaze battle.. Aes is 1 of 2 -1 RIP EYEDEA FOREVER THE GRIM REAPER
Wanna hear someone who claims they understand ase to break me own every bar from one track and what it's about and why. El-p even said he has had to have the an himself explain shit to him lol
One of my favorite things to do is watch people's first reactions to a new Aesop Song for them. Always golden lol
He watched Daylight Nightlight live at the skatepark. The reaction is funny as hell.
I love it soʻ much. it's like watching it for the first time.

Aesop is the GOAT, you will never convince me otherwise
You being blown away by this song made my day
My path homes all drop zones, Flash bulbs and strobe lights, road signs with crossbones.

WE ARE A DIFFERENT BREED
This almost overtook “Cat Food” as my fav Aesop Rock song. Damn good react!
Great reaction as always !
On point drop Truth… I was looking for new AES react 😎🙏
Yea this one was crazy
aes!
"stay tuned for the spooky adventures"
Yup
GOAT
The visuals he creates in this song are so top tier. Like reading an Anne rice novel. The song creates a world you can feel totally immersed in.
I'm sure Aesop could totally describe the history of the curtains for 50-60 pages. Thankfully he economizes to fewer words when possible.

This album is about living/surviving in a different planet. "Aesop Rock - Gauze"!
Your best Aes reaction was the Daylight Nightlight live video. The look on you face was priceless. I think it was your first experience.
You should react to Kodokushi next
I came here to suggest the same song.
and Gauze
That means going to die
My favorite 🖤
Marble Cake from this album is still among my absolute favourite tracks from this album AND his overall discography
Def one of his most bravado tracks style wise for modern rap.. Which is funny that he doesn't actually change to sell. Just to show off.
i can't believe i didn't watch this one sooner!! this is so freaking good. visuals and vocals
Please react to more songs from this album, it’s so dope!

If you dig this you must check out “Gauze” and “Kodokushi” _ from the same album as “The Gates” and. “Jumping Coffin”
I did jumping coffin & the gates
@@TruthNoLie_ oh yes I know, I was just letting you know that my suggestions are from the same album as those two.

You should do 100ft Tall by Aesop Rock
I'm here for ALL the Aesop content!! If you haven't done them yet I'd like to get your take on "Oh Fudge", "Supercell" and "Gopher Guts"!! ✌️
I did Gopher Guts.
You just need to do a deep dive in to the largest vocabulary in any art form to do with words he's used more different words in his rhymes than 96 % of authors had witten in all the books they have written in history thats insane
Keep in mind that this is from a concept album so it isn't as rooted in reality as his normal stuff. Still great though.

Killl that background. The whole vid doesn't need to be a thumbnail.
