I loved the way you described it as having near-citrus notes. Maybe it’s a lifetime of having a Hoegaarden or Blue Moon with an orange slice that our brains expect there to be citrus, but it doesn’t actually exist. I also loved the comparison to Margherita Pizza, because it’s all about perfect balance and impeccable quality. There’s a lot going on in the beer, but I’m getting banana, clove, allspice, coriander, esters, and apricot, which is pretty par for the course for a Hefe, but it’s just so masterful and balanced that it really is a cut above. Love the perfect beer gong!
Such a good point! It could be that we're just expecting the citrus to be there from experiences with those beers. The Margherita pizza was the first thing that came to mind for that exact reason. Perfect balance and distinct flavors working together in harmony. It really is the perfect example of the style.
Great beer review guys! I love the weiheinstephaner weissbier, same goes for the Pauliner. I have noticed though you guys didn’t pour it in a way it’s supposed to. You’d have to pour almost the whole beer and the the last little bit has all the taste en the wheat in it. This what you pour last on top! What makes it like the cherry on pie. Great video guys keep up the amazing reviews. I drank my weihenstephaner already! Greetings from NL
My go to beer. In the UK supermarkets sell it for as cheap as £1.80 a bottle for 500ml. In my opinion that makes it ridiculous value bearing in mind quality of the beer

You have to spin the bottle an release the settled flavors on bottom of bottle. Only way to get the full flavor. Do this with all Hefe Weis's.
