Thank you for the review ❤ I ordered 2 of them.. I have the kit version works almost the same and was fun to build but after a year the screen broke.. But these have the case 👍
Thank you for a very nice instructive video. I have been looking into these units, and have watched its evolution from models TC1 through TC7. I also remember seeing a model with suffix 2019. So a while back I ordered a model TC7. What with Covid and slowed mail, I got it after 1.5 months. I have not put my unit through its paces, but made sure that it worked. Could I suggest ( if your time allows) to prepare a video with in-circuit testing of MOSFETs, BJTs, and passive components. This will become a guide for troubleshooting. A question: All these models are based on (I think) senior or Master’s thesis of a person in the Netherlands(?). He had put the code in the public domain. Any chance you have the link(s) to the source code, or the thesis? Have you looked to upgrading the code?
Thank you glad you liked the video. I have no links and I didn't even know about the code you mention. Sorry to say but there will probably be no in-circuit test videos.
I have one of these too, I like it but after doing some research I have found there are reliability issues with the device. 2 capacitors fail very often plus a whole host of other faults can develop. Dave's EE Blog has all the posts on fixing some common faults on this tester.
Very good ...now I know how to use this ...as usual the manual is nowhere to be found. Have you tried this for in circuit testing? If so what do you think of it for that?
Thank you! I have worked as a teacher but not in electronics, but in vehicle technology. Taught students how to service and repair modern cars. There are many videos on the tube how to use an scope. Search on how to use an oscilloscope.
GREAT STUFF TOMPAS11. I checked a KTB772 in circuit with this Multi Function Tester. It shows Resistor reading. Would you please have an explanation for this? Thanks and Regards. (Sham)

So it can test various components but where was the review or the features shown? Did you know it has a rechargeable battery inside? Think I will have to do a proper comparative video as the accuracy of this model is suspect - very suspect and I have a different charger, not from Bangood, which is better. n.b. This video was obviously sponsored.!
I mention at the beginning of this video that I received this item for free from Banggood. I also show that this item comes with a USB-cabel for charging the battery. It doesn't come with a battery charger so I built one myself. What I didn't mentioned was that I had to pay a custom fee of 80SEK to the swedish Postnord to get this package delivered to me. I look forward to a video where you compare this item with the one you have at hand. I assume that you also compare the price.
Imagine having that in ~1980 or earlier? It's like magic!
Yes this device makes it so much easier when you check different components than was the case earlier years. Thanks for watching and comment.
A tip: you can watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Franklin Peter Definitely, been using Flixzone} for since december myself :)
I will give you 5 thumbs up!!!!! Thanks for sharing that new tiny multifunction electronics tester.
Thanks! :-)
I was looking at buying one of these. Your video was the best I have seen...interesting on that particular thyristor
Thanks a lot Mark.

Looks like a handy tester for electronic kind of guys. Thanks for the review.
Yes it's real handy to have. Thanks for watching and take care.

Good information, thanks. Do you have a link to that specific blogpost on Dave's EE Blog?

Hello, I've got one and it read IGBT as a doide, and other thyristor as resistor, it can be faulty readings?
Very good ...now I know how to use this ...as usual the manual is nowhere to be found. Have you tried this for in circuit testing? If so what do you think of it for that?

Yes I have tried that. It sometimes work and sometimes it doesn't. It all depends of the circuit I think.
You are a good teacher. could you please include how use oscilloscope.... lot of people don't know how to use it.............

How to know if the transistor is bad in that tester ?
If a transistor or other component is bad the display says: No, unknown, or damaged part.
Excellent job thank you Tompas11
Thank you very much!
Thanks for making the video.
Appreciate all your effort. w0ui
Thanks R Linwood for your comment and watching this video.

Thanks. You can get false readings when checking a component in circuit, desolder the transistor and measure again.
Thank you for the great review.
Thank you! Glad you liked my review.
Can we measure the SMD Component mounted on any PCB by this Multimeter?
I haven't tried that yet.
I just got one of these and it doesn't work. The screen just display all white when I hit the test button. Any tips on how to get it working?
Is the battery fully charged? If so and it still doesn't work, I would recommend you to send it back to the seller and get it replaced.

Grato!
Muito bom e excelente explanação!

Thank you!
Good job sir but it will be more ok if you also test the different fet components like mosfet.
Thanks. Yes you are right, I should also have tested both N- and P-Channel MOSFETs.
Thanks for the review.
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Are there any of these but branded products...
Oh yes.
what is KAA 's Funtion?
K stands for cathode (minus) and anod stands for plus (+). These connections are for testing zener diodes up 30V.
cool gadget honestly I will use only to match small signal transistors
Yes, it's probably a good idea.
Does it check IGBT?
According to the specs, wich i showed in the video, it can.
did you try to test a mosfet?
Yes I have, both N and P types but unfortunately not in the video.
Could anybody please tell me if this can measure the esr of capacitors, while they are still on circuit?
This particular instrument can't measure ESR of capacitors. If you want to measure ESR you need an ESR-meter. Thanks for watching.
@@tompas11A3n52KkX Thank you for your immediate answer. In any case, i'm still getting this gadget.
Mine is constantly measuring a cell and nothing else :(. Suddenly it broke somehow.
Send it back.
Had it working for half a year and bought in China :-P
Симистор BT139 600E, TC-1 не может определить правильно выводы!!! Почему то именно этот симистор, с другими всё нормально.
???
Interesting remute control
Yes indeed.
28 minutes video, I was expecting to see how to change the shut down timer (it says in the manual but it's not as easy as it says).
You can't always get what you want.
Trevlig liten tester
Ja mångsidig och lättanvänd.
crap.brake .real bad protection had 2 both broke fixed one wiith english language but it nroke again.
Mine is till working. As a matter of fact I used it several times today. No issues what so ever.
What does a multi function tester show when parts are bad
Unknown or damaged part.
it is crap quality.somthing wrong with design or they cut a corner to much when they made those.luky if it work a few times
Well, mine are working just as it is supposed to do. I have no complaints at all.

Hello, I've got one and it read IGBT as a doide, and other thyristor as resistor, it can be faulty readings?
Yes it reads as a diode because there is a diod between C and E. I tested it on a IGBT IKW30N65WR5.
Ok
@@gaberboraey5477 You can't expect that a cheap tester like this will do it all. There are other ways to test an IGBT transistor. Search the internet.
