  • In the second of three videos from our latest wrap pod recording, our panel harps on a string of narrow defeats (and one draw after 80m) for Leinster & Ireland in recent seasons. Is there a pattern?

I am a Saffa and a Bulls supporter.but I'm not here to rub it in. We have so much respect for Irish rugby, and I supported Leinster in every Champions Cup final. All of those were very difficult losses to take.
One thing I have said since last year is that Ross Byrne is not good enough. Leinster's attacking play did regress, and one of the reasons I think is that you never had a settled center pairing. This may have been due to injuries as well. One plus for Ireland is Bundee Aki. If he can keep the same form, he will make a big difference.

Good to your word. You weren't rubbing it in. Good points but I think Leinster have just had a bad year for various reasons. I think the same players will perform better in green. But South Africa is definitely big favourites for sure.

Hope you are ready cause here goes...
Have to agree with the bench comments. When Ireland lost to the AB's, Ireland were out on their feet in the last minutes. I was surprised that Sexton was playing the whole game.
Leinster a bit different with their 2 team approach but still their bench dont dominate or at least, have parity.
Another thing is the phaseplay of the Irish which can be one dimentional. If it is shut down, there is no plan B.
