Airbus data shows Virgin Atlantic will take two fewer A350-1000s as part of the latest orders revision published monthly. Order cancellations occur as the airline continues to restructure its network and focus on streamlining to become more profitable. Hence it has replaced the two cancelled A350's on order with A330's. This has nothing to do with the A350 per se other than the airline is streamlining its routes and has found that the smaller, cheaper A330 fits their fleet in then case of these two airframe slots better. All remaining A350 orders shall remain unchanged.

Or maybe the A330-900 just suits the Virgin network better in terms of range & economics (East coast USA) so VS is maybe better off paying less for an A330-900 and saving some capital expenditure and use their existing A350-1000 for longer range trips eg: Asia, South Africa or west coast USA? Pretty sure those A350-1000 slots at Airbus got snapped up by somebody else pretty quickly
Although the A350 was supposed to be the replacement for the A330ceo, it hasn't worked out that way. We should consider the A330ceo's replacement to be the A350 AND the A330neo. Ironically, the A330neo is probably closer to what Airbus initially wanted to replace the A330ceo with, but at the time no airline seemed to want it, and demanded what became the A350. As such, order changes between these two aircraft types are not really not any more significant than those between variants. However, it does seem to imply that the airline sees the A330neo as a rather better aircraft than many airchair pundits do. I suspect that the A330neo will seriously out perform those same airchair pundets expectations, which ranged from disappointing, to failure. When making their analysis they conveniently forget that success is manufacturer profit, and the A330neo was developed on a rather small budget so doesn't need to sell anywhere near the volumes required by a clean-sheet design or troublesome and protracted upgrade to be a financial succes for Airbus. The A330neo could even end up making more money for Airbus than the (still struggling to reach the break-even point) 787 does for Boeing. Although very slow to start with, the A330neo seems to be starting to buck the usual trend where sales reduce significantly over the life of the variant. Sometimes I even wonder if we could see a transformation in the dash 800's fortunes. All that is needed now is something to replace the old A310 to fill the NMA sized gap between the A320 series and the A330/A350, but that is another story altogether - one requiring engines of a rating not currently available.
No! The issue is that the Atlantic routes that VIRGIN ATLANTIC operates are highly competitive and that air traffic growth seems to be slower than anticipated before. One reason for the latter might be the idiot schemas driven by the self declared "climate saviors" that currently rule most of Europe and the United States and that among other rubbish try to prohibit flying of the (non affluent) general populace. However, there will be elections across the Atlantic soon, and as it looks, that destructive ideology (and its power base) will be crushed and mopped up in North America beginning early next year. If so, the sale of larger aircraft will again flourish.
@@FLIGAVIA Virgin aren't getting the yields to make the 350K profitable and therefore going for the 339 means they can have capacity or increase services instead of operating not full 350s.
I don’t think it’s very good when you’re talking about virgin Atlantic and you constantly keep on showing British Airways, and then the next segment talking about engines specifically CFM and you’re constantly showing Rolls-Royce engines for people that don’t know the difference and they see that badge of Rolls-Royce, they’re going to get the wrong idea Very poorly put together. And when you talk about aircraft there is no S on the end of aircraft it can apply for a singular or multiple aircraft very very bad grammar all the way through as well. And the A350 is much better than the A330 Neo being on both of them and the A350 is far superior and again far superior over the Boeing 787 dream liner.
I agree virgin Atlantic has 25 of the A350-1000S but they also have the EWB version which they have ordered quite a lot of them also virgin Atlantic first got the A350-1000 in 2016 and they have continued adding more of them to their fleet so that won’t change because they fly more A350S on flights to America from the uk than the 787-900 and the A330-343 so I only see more A350S in virgin Atlantic fleet

Talking nonsense mate…. I work for Virgin and we are not getting rid of the A350….
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Virgin Atlantic saying goodbye to their a350 . This channel always talks absolute crap . I certainly won’t be watching it again !
They should say goodbye to their 787s instead, these planes needed retirement, even if they are young. 787 was a joke
The A330 NEO is an outstanding aircraft. Certainly a passenger favourite.
It is.
Virgin Atlantic knows what they’re doing. If the A330-900 is better for their network, it’s a smart move.
no airline would retire new state of the art planes and + they have absolutely no reason to retire their flagship aircraft

Surprised to see Virgin Atlantic moving away from the A350-1000. The A330-900 must really fit their strategy better.
I’m a big fan of their A350-1000 but I’ll take the A330Neo aswell which is cool
Yes, it is.
I vote for the Airbus A330neo Jet.
Yep!!
The A350-1000 is a solid aircraft, but I guess the A330-900 offers more flexibility for Virgin’s routes.
The A330-900 might not have the same prestige as the A350-1000, but it’s a workhorse. Good choice by Virgin Atlantic.

A330neo has just paid attention recently. Quite late despite a good aircraft!
The A350-1000 is a beautiful plane, but operational costs and efficiency probably made the A330-900 more appealing for Virgin.
No!

Surprised Virgin Atlantic cut back on the A350-1000, but the A330-900 is definitely a great alternative.
Yes.
The A350-1000 is a fan favorite, but it looks like Virgin Atlantic is focusing on profitability with the A330-900.

I don’t think their route map needs A350-1000
Should sell all to Delta, cheap price they need them now
and ......... why Virgin Atlantic Says "GOODBYE" To Airbus A350-1000! ??????????
A330neo is better due to the economy 2-4-2 seat configuration
Tough to see the A350-1000 go, but Virgin Atlantic’s decision to go with the A330-900 shows they’re serious about staying competitive.
The A350-1000 do NOT "go"! They only shift to a smaller aircraft type of which they order more.
