Nice video. But why are we so interested on arranging everything in desktop view, when more than 50% of traffic is from mobile?

Depends on the site - my agency site gets 69% of views on Desktop.
This video is just for basic demonstrative purposes - just use it as a foundation for your building and tweak as needed if you need for mobile.
