Valorant's Unluckiest Leader Spent 11 Years Hunting For His Big Win

- FNS has been chasing glory for most of his career.
But even in a new game, he still struggled.
After trying and failing to win something for so many years, FNS didn’t have many shots left.
But fate gave him one more chance to lead his team to glory.

Were never gonna have another masters like this one. Zeta’s cinderella story, Loud making finals looking like the best team in the tournament, rookie team The Guard topping their group, Optic fighting back against low odds, the joyous whimsy of Paper Rex dominating G2. There were so many magical moments and I don’t see a Valorant tournament being as good as this one was, maybe ever.
because EU was nerfed by riot
@@oskarifps EU was nerfed by bad circumstances, not Riot. M3C didn’t qualify due to their performance, FPX would’ve had to have 3 subs due to travel restrictions, not Riot, and wouldn’t have looked good even if for some reason they were allowed to play with 3 subs, and Derke wasn’t allowed to travel at the start and Fnatic CHOSE not to play with him from a hotel (Loud also had a member with covid but they still played with that player isolated). You can blame plenty of factors for EU not being able to turn up (pandemic and the war for example), but Riot is not one of them.

U dont know what the future brings for us ; ) since pro path is fairly easy in valorant in comparison to other games… you‘ll see many new faces faster than you think…

Karrigan got a MAJOR almost after a decade.... And now FNS! Congratulations to both!
Poor you getting getting copy pasted by a bot😞
Victor is crazy on neon and the sheer teamwork optic always has is astounding, they’re a team that works perfectly independently and together it’s amazing
Marved also popped off in lower finals and Finals like no tomorrow, not to mention he also was the Fan favourite MVP of the entire Tournament
Their scrim/ practice schedule is out of this world

i'll love to see them dominate and lose some matches because that's what charges innovation, look what happened to sentinels because they were dominating they neve evolved, i want optic to win again, and seeing yay holding that trophy like smeagle, i'm stunned seeing how my precious memes are not out yet.
My respect for Victor has really gone up recently. Running these off meta duelists and DUMPSTERING with them is no simple feat. Honestly, any team that can dominate with Yoru instantly has my respect. Probably why I like PRX so much, plus their W key playstyle is just so fun to watch.
I'm sure he's "all good" now.

Optic vs DRX was one of the best series.
Wow, envy is the only NA val team that can consistently go to international stage
Envy don't exist.
Optic was that one team that you hate but respect.

After seeing this I'm glad they beat zeta now bc it's his moment
Ngl it’s kinda sad that they gave fns all the credit for the strats and gameplay just completely disregarding the coaches and everyone else’s performance. Like don’t get me wrong FNS igling was fucking insane I watched the matches. But there’s just so much more to optics victory than fns’s calls.
true but IGLs are meant to navigate the team to execute said strats, lead comms and keep everyones mental together
respectfully i dont think most other IGLs could lead a unexperienced team in a way fns does and he was, atleast to my knowledge, the key factor to let the roster perform and execute strats.
obviously respect to the entire roster but after almost a decade my guy deserves his praise.

i dont like optic mainly cus of chet, but god was it good finally seeing fns get what he deserves after all this time
I love pujan but to say his 11 years in esports was unlucky is kinda misleading. Clg was never a top international team. They simply were not good enough. Despite him being a top NA igl the competition in international cs and skill ceiling was incredibly high. Im glad he could somewhat dominate the new scene in valorant but when csgo dies all the tier 1 players will dominate this scene too
I don't think the switch from CS to Valorant will be easy so it's not a guarantee everyone who dominated in CS will dominate in Val
@@king_thanos_2116 take a second and look at all the top valorant players. i didnt do the math but im confident in saying 85% of the top 20 players came from csgo. the transition is the easiest out of all the other fps competitors. of course current val players have the advantage now but if you give a tier 1 csgo pro like 4-6 months of grinding valorant and theyll easily replace all your favorite players

This is only related to this video because it's about eSports, but I know some of the audience should appreciate or at least get a grin out of this so read on if you're interested:
I recently got in the latest issue of Ringling's alumni magazine, CONTXT, (I was illustration '07) and it had an article about the school's new eSports team within the game design and VR development majors, which is just amazing to me in the best way.
Ringling's mascot is Rembrandt the armadillo. They named their team the Ringling Rollers, and their logo is _an armadillo curled up into a ball acting as a paint roller._ For an art school's eSports team.

This video sucks…no description of what makes FNS different from other players. What playstyle issues his teams had? Just who won and lost. No interviews with players or pundits and their thoughts on him and why he hadn’t made it in the past. You can’t just hitch footage together and say who is winning.
your comment makes no sense
I never saw Optic and FNS' team as an underdog and never paid them any attention until Reykjavik because of how many times they rematched with teams that beat them. Sadly I didn't see the match due to time zones but seeing them being repeatedly matched against Loud is crazy. I hope this is FNS and NRG's year and get the VCT trophy.

Ofc youre gonna keep falling short playing the way optic/envy did. People keep talking about how consistent they are but the results really dont do justice to the reality. The team is just far too inconsistent. One day they can be looking like the best of the best, and on other days the extents to which they fall are just far far too horrendous to even be called a top 12 NA team. Sure they finally won a major but it was one where the team they regard as best in the world didnt even and would not even have been able to attend.
