Not gonna lie, changing her name to abuse the legal loophole was a genius management move and it kept her name relevant for years. Her mother is very smart.
Fun fact, Dolly Parton is Miley Cyrus’s irl godmother. They are super close and also do things professionally all the time, including hosting a New Year’s event on TV.
Yep 😊 Hannah Montana is lightly based on her life because the famous big blonde hair is a wig and Dolly is actually brunette and looks like a completely different person without her glam. She prefers it that way
I always thought it was weird how no one noticed Miley and Hannah had the same father, even if he wore a bad fake mustache as a disguise. If her father was famous, wouldn’t the world know who his kids are because of media and paparazzi? AND where they live? Even as a kid this bothered me lol.
This was pure looney toons logic, and i think it was inconsistent ? Bc i remember Robby was supposed to be Hannah’s manager, but not necessarily her dad. I suppose you could argue Robby was a one hit wonder so maybe he was not easily recognizable, but this always bothered me lmao
It’s so crazy that Miley literally started the show at 12 years old and then had to tour as both character, film albums, and film series all the way until she was only 17 years old. She did more in those 5 years then some people do their whole lives, and she was just a kid.
I like how you pointed out Miley being overworked doing the show, tours, and movies. I just can’t imagine all that pressure being on me. And then later on is kind of screwed over in a way. So happy she is doing well for herself.
I read somewhere that she's always been great to work with, being nice to everyone etc, which is even more impressing considering all the stress and her young age
My dad was a coke head motorcycle club member. Craziest and toughest guy I've ever met. And also loved this show so unironicly and genuinely. I've seen him knock people out cold and sing his heart out to "best of both worlds" miss ya dad lmao
I used to research how her mum died back when i didn't know how fake the show is 😭 since hannah montana became a real life star, it was hard to tell sometimes
Miley Stewart is basically the Disney version of Clark Kent. All she needs to do is wear a wig and no one will recognize her as Hannah Montana, while as for his case, he just needs to wear glasses and no one will recognize him as Superman.
I mean it is in the same universe as Zach and Cody in which in an episode almost everyone seemed to ignore that Maddie looked like Ashley Tisdale, no wigs involved.
A 2 hour long video on Hannah Montanna is not something I expected on my feed today, but okay. For real, this was a guilty pleasure of mine in high school.
Same I grew up with this show loving it but never once told anyone I watched it. My friends and I only ever talked about "manly" shows like Ben 10 or Beyblade lol
I think Black Mirror is also worth mentioning, since watching this reminded me of the ep Miley was in and it's interesting just how much that ep reflects her real life as she lost more and more control over herself and her image, considering as you mentioned, it was the Hannah Montana brand that Disney owned.
I feel like my biggest take away from this is that Miley was not protected enough,,, I cant believe her parents would let her do that insane amount of workload as a young kid, and with her father already being in the industry he should know the toll that it can take and also should of advocated for a better pay for her
I feel like you can really tell when Miley stopped being into the show. She said that once she grew up and had sex she felt silly putting the wig on and she was forced into doing a 4th season when she didn't want to. That's why there's such a large gap in between the 3rd and 4th seasons. I dont think Billy Ray wanted it either.
Robby Ray Stewart became such a sad character in season 4. He no longer cared about his health, becane just another "fat dad", and was barely involved with his children's lives. He was just .... there. I wonder if it had anythinv to do with Billy Ray Cyrus not caring about the character himself
Miley was tired of it but she was the only who ultimately was the one who decided to do the final season, Billy Ray gave her the choice since he knows how much the whole thing was for her. She knew the story wasn’t completely done yet by the season 3 finale, she just had more boundaries with Disney. She didn’t wanna do any tours, little to no photo shoots, no concerts, all she wanted to do was the show to finish the story. She wanted to break out the Disney image though, which Disney ended up completely removing everything that was Miley Cyrus from their brand and radio stations after she came out with Can’t Be Tamed. So she had to fund her own Miley tour in South America, and she wasn’t in Hollywood Records anymore
I always thought a happier ending would be Miley deciding to have Hannah go on hiatus and living a normal life for a bit. Just putting the wig away and living life as Miley. Revealing the secret, and the following episodes where she shows she will never have a normal life again is just kinda depressing.
That’s exactly what I thought would be the better ending for the series as well rather than reveling the secret{Ya did it once in the movie Disney. Shouldn’t that be enough?} and showing she’ll never be a normal girl again. I felt depressed watching those final episodes in 2011.
That’s a great idea, it reminds me of what Carly decided to do with iCarly before moving away. I feel like the secret reveal was more impactful in the movie anyway, this would’ve been just as emotional. Also her reasons for revealing the secret were for other people, she didn’t seem ready. I like to think of revealing the secret as like a metaphor for being gay. That the other people around you have to make sacrifices for your secret, and you’ll never truly seem ready but it just takes courage. Your life won’t be perfect, but things can get better. No more Best of Both Worlds, all about being yourself
i disagree but only because that’s exactly what happened. the last episode shows miley giving up a movie role so she can go to college with Lilly. when she goes to Stanford you see that no one really cares that she’s miley so she’s able to live a relatively normal life as a college student. i think that was the show’s way of letting the audience know there will always be people who view miley as miley. we might’ve not seen miley live a normal life but the show ends in a place where it’s obvious that’s what she’ll do.
@@crab2195 that’s a good point, college in some way is still an enclosed environment. Even famous people irl went and gained some normalcy: Noah Schnapp, the Sprouse Twins, Bridgit Mendler, Miranda Cosgrove, etc.
as a child i noticed the plot holes and just general unrealistic situations in every episode it was so annoying but i loved this show. like why would hannah montana be arrested for being pulled over with brunnete hair instead of blonde? did hannah have her own SS number, ID, medical records to even get a license.. i mean hannha is just like a stage name? and that guy wasnt even that short?
Where do you live that you need medical records to get a license? A Stage Name is a legitimate thing. Plenty of people have a legal stage name that is also "legally" their name and not just something randomly used to hide an identity. Heck, a few entertainment unions do not allow two people in that union to have the same name Screen Actors Guild and Actor's Equity to name two. If you are just performing at dive bars and have a stage name it's one thing, but once you are as big as Hannah Montana is implied to be in the show you want LEGAL ties to OWNING your name. Many women run into this issue when they get married if they have been established under a certain name (men, less frequently, chose to change their name for marriage). So Hannah Montana is likely linked to enough things legally in some way that she could very well have a license that says Hannah Montana instead of Miley, but likely wouldn't have both without some legal issues as both names would be tied to the same SSN. It's really not a matter of if Hannah could have her own legal documents just a question of which she is "legally" in universe, Hannah or Miley. Both are possible as one is under no obligation to keep their birth name and many people do legally change to a stage name and have it on their documents instead of their birth name. In fact, Miley Cyrus herself was born Destiny Hope and changed it legally to Miley Ray in 2008. It's entirely possible she has enough documents in both names to get an ID or License in either name. Ridiculous Sit-com antics aside, what's stupid is that hair color makes a difference at all. People, especially women, frequently dye hair and wear wigs. And as long as you look like your picture, an updated hair color wouldn't make a difference.
Hannah Montana was my favorite show as a kid and Miley was the first singer I ever idolized. I admit I don't listen to her music as often as I used to, but she still holds a special place in my heart and I have a lot of respect for her choosing to stay true to herself regardless of what others thought
I mean, it’s kinda ideal on these kind of productions if you’re older but still youthful, they don’t have to worry about child labor laws or working with inexperienced kid actors.
I mean, Jason Earles does look pretty young for his age. Probably when he's 60-70 years old, way in the future, he'd look more like he was 40-50. I dunno. Me myself, hasn't really changed that much since I was around 14-15. So, if I was an actress, I could play much younger roles, despite being 24, and 25 next year.
That ending off with Miley getting a special on Disney+ really just shows how Miley Cyrus truly has made it to where she can have the best of both worlds.
Long time enjoyer of your content, but I wanted to say that I really enjoyed this type of long video! Other channels/videos covering other Disney/Nick/CN shows sometimes go into the 5-10+ hour "turning into a documentary with individual episode play-by-play" style coverage, and others that are shorter than 10 min quick nostalgia trips - I find that this type of video is one of the best mediums between those, where it's enough of a deep dive to be longer than most, but not encroaching into extremely long coverages of a topic - I think the best thing that you've done with this type of dive is doing more quick bullet point style highlights, like with the Season 1 episodes, just transitioning from one point to the next rather than each single individual point in each episode like other ones I've watched Looking forward to more of what you make from here, whether it's the 20 min or 2 hour videos you make!
This is why I wish UA-camrs wouldn't be hesitant to make videos about shows that have been covered by other UA-camrs. If they vary in length and structure, then there's something for everyone! Plus I love longform YT vids, and I would (and have) watch different videos on the same topic if they had differences like that.
Geniunely surprised ashley and amber stuck around for even the series finale. Usually when disney has bully characters in the first season they barely make it to season 2. Also I mustve checked out entirely by season 4 cause i have no memory of the house change. Oops
I haven't finished the video but you just had to have been there. Her impact will not be forgotten. Hannah Montana was truly THAT GIRL ✨ Edit: Finished the video. I'm remember the DS game. It took me years to figure it out because I didn't know what the word corridor meant. I had to go find Oliver in the AV room and Lily in the corridors and I was fighting for my life walking around that school. 😭 I finally finished I don't want to spoil the game for those who haven't finished it but who else was mad when you finished. All that work just to find out it was Robbie Ray planning a surprise party 😅
@@clarityvee lol right. Like the target demographic was I'm sure 7-12 yr olds. What 7 yr old knows what corridor means? The script writers needs to answer for their crimes. It happened 15 years ago and I always associate that word corridor with Hannah Montana 😭
I loved this video. I didn’t realize how many episodes are ingrained in my memory. This is a great examination of the Miley Cyrus Hannah Montana craze.
Lizzie McGuire and the Lizzie McGuire Movie was the prototype. The Lizzie series was the regular girl stuff and the Movie brought in the pop star stuff with the ending.
I was such a fan of this show and Miley’s back in the day. I was maybe too old for Disney channel when it debuted (in high school), but I watched all the time and loved the music. I’ve been a fan of Miley’s ever since through it all. This was a complete nostalgia trip and I will happily watch hours long deep dives on properties that mean so much to me
One thing that’s crazy about Hannah Montana is some of the guest stars that showed up. Sure, there were some of the musical artists of the time like Jesse McCartney, David Archuleta, & Iyaz & even other Disney stars like Corbin Bleu of the High School Musical movies, Sterling Knight from Sonny with a Chance, & our favorite Wizard Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place Selena Gomez, but then there are the actors who are more famous now who you’ll say “Wait, they were on Hannah Montana?!” One of them was the girl who shaved Jackson’s head bald being played by Alison Brie, better known as Annie from Community. However, the craziest of them all was definitely Sheryl Lee Ralph who played Roxy’s old high school rival. To those who don’t know who she is, that’s Barbara from Abbott Elementary! Bet you didn’t realize she was in an episode of Hannah Montana!
Hannah Montana is the definition of a guilty pleasure. It’s not the best series but arguably the most impactful (revenue wise) for Disney Channel. My favorite moment from the series definitely has to be the Cheese Jerky episode.
I understand why they chose Hannah Montana over Better Days but Alyson Stoner deserved to have her own show. She was in so many different shows and never got her own.
Apparently I vividly remember season 2 and nothing else from this show 😂 Fantastic video. I adore these long DCom and Nick analyses that are getting more popular. Crazy that these shows I watched as a kid are old enough to be getting retrospectives
Regarding the Merch, no Miley never saw any of that money. And since Miley was not her official name until she changed it when the Miley merch came out initially she also never saw any of that money until her mother changed her name legally. This was her reasoning at least partly for going so far to destroy Hannah because Disney squeezed every penny out of her possible and she never saw any of it.
I hope Miley knows we love her regardless her being Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus. I grew up with the show so it breaks my heart to step back and realize how miserable she probably was with most of it. I'm glad she made it out the other side just fine. And obvious props go to Jordan for this crazy long episode. I love listening to these while I work! When's my That's so Raven episode? ;)
I think the dual personas was based off what Dolly Parton does. If she wants to go out she looks like a completely different person than her stage persona.
Hannah Montana was me and cousin's favorite show growing up, miley was our first ever concert. I still have some old HM merch today. now that Miley returns to Disney+ and this video it really me happy 💗
That was a nice cultural lesson. I was a sophomore - in college - when Hannah Montana premiered, so I never watched it myself. I didn't have nearly the connection to it as something like "Hey Arnold". This was a great video which helped me understand a lot of aspects of that culture and time period!
Hannah Montana was my favorite childhood show, along with iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place, Arthur, and Make Way for Noddy. It's one of the shows I still watch today now and then. Miley Cyrus is very talented, both in acting and singing and I hope she has a lot more success in the future just being Miley. I do wonder, though, what a revival series would be like of Miley Stewart as an adult and if she still sings, even if she revealed the Hannah secret.
There is an amazing Boy Meets World retrospective thats an hour and a half long on Jose's channel (the channel is literally called Jose, he does alot of older show. I found him through his Golden Girls one) but anyways if youre looking for one like this, I highly recommend that video!!
I was such a big Hannah Montana fan when I was a kid! I remember watching the movie in the theaters with my older sisters. When Miley took off the wig and said, she couldn't be Hannah anymore! I started crying I was legit sobbing it was like the end of the world for me! The show was my favorite show at the time, and it truly did make a big impact on me. I enjoyed your video it was a great and gave me a lot of nostalgia!
Dude the Hannah Montana PSP was freaking great. My parents were finally convinced to get me a PSP by getting me that one because it was on clearance at best buy because no gamer wanted it, but like you said, it actually had no Hannah Montana branding on it so I just had a cool unique PSP color that none of my friends had.
This was great! Id love for you to do Thats So Raven and her impact on Disney as well to the point of even bringing her back for Raven's Home. I was a huge Hannah fan, even went to the Best of Both Worlds concert w the Jonas Bros
i feel like the jump from season 2 to 3 they seemed sooo much older and it was probably bc miley was actually touring and working. she really made this kind of goofy concept work and as a child then it felt so real and that the character miley/hannah could’ve been real.
I cried like 5 times during this. Hannah meant so much to me as a kid, the family dynamic was always too close to home and her relationship with her dad is VERY similar to my own. Butterfly Fly Away gets me sobbing 😭
Sometimes I think about how half of her songs were about having a double life and wonder in there were ever in-universe conspiracy theorists who were like, saying from the start the she had a double life.
Man I remember watching this series back then and out of all of the plots I always enjoyed the plots involving the b plot when it came to the Rico of the beach house and of how goofy they end up being, and just seeing this video definitely wants me to go back and watch drake and josh, my favorite sitcom because of how relatable it is, definitely makes me wonder if you would cover that series in the future because of how fun that series is
I'm thankful for the success of Hannah Montana, not for Disney, but for the fact it helped create Metro Station who made the best song "Shake It". Not many people I know, know the guys in the band are siblings of the stars of the show lol Miley is also a treasure and we love her
The other singer/guitarist in the band is also Mitchell Musso’s brother, Mason! 🙂 if I recall correctly trace and mason met on the set on Hannah Montana.
My most vivid memory of Hannah merch was my denim Hannah Montana figure skates I had as a kid. They were just such a bizarre and unrelated piece of branding that I’ll never forget them
1:52:42 in Syonide’s Corey in the House video we came to the conclusion that President Martinez got impeached for abusing his power and that Obama who was his Vice President took on the role. I don’t know how that plays in with the timeline, but I think it would be funny if it tracked across the continuity. I always enjoy the strange lore of 2000’s sitcoms
I actually did use music to study, i would memorize the spelling words elementary by repeating each letter to the tune of whatever song came to mind and it actually legitimately helped alot
Love the breakdown of the episodes!! I always loved the show and I always loved Miley as an actress and artist. And she is still out there killing it!!
Fun fact: I believe the episode with Barack Obama only takes place in what would normally be the middle of President Martinez's term, so President Martinez either died off screen or was impeached! Hope this helps!
Am I the only one who didn’t know that Miley’s brother is the guitarist in metro station and that Mitchell Musso’s brother is the lead singer? Blew my mind!
Keyan Carlile: I tried to rewatch Hannah Montana and make another long form video but it's just nothing but bad acting and bad jokes Jordan Fringe: fine I'll do it myself. I love Keyan, no shade to him at all. I can agree that some things from our childhood aren't as good as we remember. But can we all agree that Jackson and the soundtracks were the best things about the show? Edit: I wish they would've brought back Traci, Mikayla and Roxy to see their reaction to the secret coming out. Especially Mikayla, since she wanted to be friends with Miley while hating Hannah! And Sarah and Joanie showed up in the beginning of the season and Joanie showed up on the second to last episode! And she was still friends with her! But what was Sarah's reaction?
Yeah I feel similarly about Keyan and Quinton - I do like long form videos, and there's a lot of their videos I do enjoy, but when it gets to the point that it's getting to be "I'm gonna do this overly long deep dive play-by-play even if it kills me" which then results in them torturing themselves in some ways to finish the product, it just starts to show in either how pained or pessimistic they are in the video, and at that point it's not as fun to watch anymore - where as with Jordan's it felt really easy to keep up with, breezing from one highlight to the next while keeping both the fun nostalgia but not letting the "not as good" points of the story take over into minute long rants
i was 6 when it started and watched every season. it was my entire childhood. i’m so glad i got to grow up in this era. i can’t believe it’s been so long, i still remembered every episode you went over vividly :) it really wouldn’t have worked if it came out at any other time. i have a good memory of my mom pulling me out of school in 4th grade to see the movie i still love miley and her new music is great. i love seeing who she becomes. it’s so sad what child actors experience. i can’t imagine the impact growing up like that would have, but i’m glad she’s been able to break out of it somewhat seeing all the merch made me feel like i was transported into my childhood. i definitely didn’t have all of that but it really was EVERYWHERE. mileys walmart clothing line too. just how saturated it was absolutely everywhere is insane to think about, there’s nothing like that today
This was a trip down memory lane XD I do have a soft spot for the show, as I used to watch it all the time, but I will admit, I feel like Season 3 was when the show (and brand probably) began to decline. It was more cartoonish and slapstick than usual. When she dressed up as a duck, I stopped watching religiously. Something tells me that iCarly stealing its ratings made them jealous, and they tried to compete but failed. Kinda hard when Nickelodeon has a show that gets more ratings than all your shows combined on most weeks. Also find it hilarious that her final album with Disney was about her not being tamed, which speaks for itself.
iCarly was absolutely better than Hannah Montana, it makes complete sense why that show was doing so much better than any Disney show. I feel like Nickelodeon show just seemed more mature, or at least didn’t have all these forced lessons and talking down to us
Nickelodeon was the "edgy" kids channel. Like Nickelodeon wasn't "adult" entertainment or anything. But like if you ranked Disney, Nick, and say Cartoon Network. Disney would be squeaky clean, Cartoon Network would be the channel you sneaked in a watch to "Adult Swim" and Nick was in the middle where you didn't feel like you'd get in trouble for watching it with the parents, but that the plots were allowed to be a little less squeaky clean then Disney. Meaning Hannah Montana's audience probably reached a point where they felt less talked down to and more embraced by the antics of an iCarly episode vs Hannah Montana. The weird thing is Miley started the Hannah Montana series at 12 and was like, what, 17 when it ended. And the character was a bit of a time capsule that didn't 'really' age and mature with the series.
@@TheDawnofVanlife I think Miley did mature in the end of the series. Through the majority of it she didn’t, but the build up to her revealing her secret definitely showed some maturity. Like she was constantly selfish in the show and everything revolves around her, and the I’ll Always Remember You episode (plus the Sienna episode) has her finally doing something big for other people
unpopular opinion, but season 4 was my favorite season. Maybe cause it was the only season with a dvd so i rewatched it a lot, but it felt so mature and well written.
Great video! Also, I agree with almost everything you said. It's phenomenal how much money Miley single handedly made for Disney. This woman would have been the stat she is even without HM.
Though I was never into the very girly merch they had, I really liked Hannah Montana. And as a kid I guess I couldn't really differentiate the true reality from the tv. I was shocked when Miley's video's and music came out with 'wrecking ball' and 'can't be tamed'. I always liked the kind, good, well behaved celebrities and people over the over-the-top and sexy onces. So Miley just absolutely breaking out of that made me feel so disgusted, but that was probably more because I felt so lied too. I too was bashing her in that time (more silently and never spreading hate because I was basically never on the internet or talking to people about it) because I couldn't believe that someone so softhearted and polite and well-behaved could sink so low. Now as an adult I see how wrong I was and that none of that was actually Miley's fault. There was so much more to the story. But I believed the story that was being told. The one by Disney. So I don't completely blame myself either as I was a kid who just believed things at face value. But now, I am proud of Miley. I wish for her to fully break out of the Hannah-chains Disney gave her. I hope she can be her own artist fully, exactly the one she wants to be. She has a great voice and IS a great actress. She has talent and I am proud of her for where she is now. Though I would wish for them to never have gone through Hannah Montana is they too think they would be better of without it.
I went through a similar journey. This video definitely helped give me a better perspective on what happened and Miley's side of it. I do really think she's talented and love her music
I am astounded that I was able to get through the whole video...I usually don't have the motivation for videos this long. I guess it was just that good a video. I was a fan of Hannah Montana when it was on TV, though I never saw every episode. I've been debating rewatching it, as I don't remember the show very well...
I have really mixed feelings about this series. What the family went through, how a grown man was cast as the brother of a teenager and they were okay with him not sharing his age (while letting them get really close), the acting being all over the place, more than a few unfortunate implications (how Miley constantly wanted to change her friends as they weren't good enough apparently), pretending some good singers were bad, etc. But I can see the charm, the concept itself is good (which is what people liked in the first place), and her singing isn't bad. But putting this huge weight onto a teenager, isn't okay. Also I've seen people to this day be upset about something scripted "Stewart"/Hannah did on the show and judge Cyrus over it, and that's just...
I agree, the jokes also weren’t that good, Wizards and The Suite Life holds up to this day, but Hannah does not. Miley Cyrus’s real life performances are what made the show tolerable, she’s not a good actress though (at least not in this style). Oliver also was constantly disrespected by Miley and Lilly (reminds me of how Carly and Sam mistreat Freddie in iCarly), and Miley can be VERY selfish. Plus I really can’t stand how much of the profits Disney took from Miley. She gave that company BILLIONS in album sales, merch, tv show rating, tours, movies EACH (especially the merch, that made them so much). And they STILL had the audacity to not pay her right. They gave her just $15,000 an episode for Hannah Montana, which is half of what Dylan and Cole made for The Suite Life. They think because she’s getting some money from other things like tours that they can underpay her in each category
I‘m confused. What does „with him not sharing his age“ mean? Are you saying they kept the real age of the actor a secret? I kinda highly doubt it, especially since his real age has always been known through stuff like Wikipedia. I also don‘t remember her wanting to change friends. There‘s a few episodes where she tries to change their behaviour, but in the end the gist of the episode is always that you have to accept your friends the way they are. I actually agree with the video that there’s too many episodes with such a theme and they become a bit repetitive. The acting is fine for a Disney show I guess, even though I would agree that the Wizards of Waverly Place and Suite Life were better acted for most parts. I also fail to see how „pretending some good singers are bad“ is supposed to be a bad thing? I guess you‘re referring to Emily Osment, who‘s a decent singer in real life, but sucks as Lily in the show? I don‘t see the problem, because it‘s just an actress playing a role. It‘s perfectly normal for actors to play a character with different skillsets than their own. All in all the show is really a harmless teen comedy in my opinion. Some episodes may have aged a bit badly after more than a decade, but nothing major.
@@growingupwithdisney mhm, how they treat Oliver is an 7-8 (and how Freddie is treated is a 10). To me it feels like they had a neat concept, but no idea how to write it. So the others worked as they knew what they wanted to be, but did they want HM to be a comedy? About stardom? Hiding stardom? A tragic tale about a family not quite knowing what to do after the mother died? A comedy about an useless older brother being bossed around by a kid? So the neat concept drowns in it all and the jokes don't really land either because they don't know what they want to be..! Agreed! And they used her actual face on them! Just look at a bunch of Pirates of the Caribbean merch, I don't know who the Captain Jack Sparrow drawing looks like, but it's not Johnny Depp, that's for sure! So they used her actual face (couldn't they have used concept art from the cancelled anime adaptation?), made billions, and yet treat her like the least important part of the whole thing?? Honestly, her returning to them reminds me of an abused child returning to their abuser...
How could you forget the Hannah Montana tooth tunes toothbrush that played her songs for exactly 2 minutes as you brushed your teeth - a personal favorite
Honestly SO glad I was experiencing Hannah Montana as she was happening. Still jammin' the bangers. I Got Nerve goes hawrd. As a Hannah myself, I was really feelin' myself at 12. LOL. Now give me the HSM video!
As a diabetic that episode were Oliver was revealed to be one was THE most relatable thing for me. So many people would gasp and chastise me for eating a cupcake at a party and I'd have to educate grown adults that no, this will not kill me. I get the concern but it could be very annoying when people tell you how to deal with your own disability.
I had Hannah Montana *everything*!!! Pjs, purses, backpacks, a lunchbox, Barbie dolls, a diary w/ matching pen, t-shirts, bedspreads, puzzles, DS games, CDs, DVDs, I even was Hannah Montana *at least* once for Halloween! Lol I still have my Hannah Montana PSP and Hannah Montana Build a Bear too! 😭😭🫶🏽🫶🏽💜💜 I believe I also had the Hannah Montana makeover head too.
Whenever one of our local drugstores was closing back in 2017 or so, they seemingly found an old Hannah Montana doll that I guess had been lost in storage for years. It had (very faded) packaging from season 2, so it had been there for like eight or nine years. I really regret not buying that doll because it was such a strange experience.
I watched a video about Cory in the House recently, specifically about President Martinez. The conclusion was that in the Hannah episode with Obama, Martinez had been removed from office for some scandals, and Obama was previously the VP.
I played Hannah Montana the Movie video game on Xbox. To mess with my brother I stayed logged in so his friend would see that “he” was playing it. I need the lilac psp in my life. Getting the stationary sets at Walgreens is a core memory.
Dare I accuse you of coinciding the release of this video with the fact that Miley Cyrus released a new album today? Yes. Yes I dare. Multiple hours too? Man you're reaching for the automatic like from me (well of course you'll have it!).
I outgrew Hannah Montana by the time the movie came out so watching this video was a great way to fill in those gaps. Thank you for making this! You definitely got a new subscriber
Hannah Montana was my childhood ! 6 year old me would watch the show religiously and I had every Hannah Montana Barbie doll I could sing all the songs and now I can’t even remember what I went a room for ugh 😑 I miss the 2000s
Thanks so much for watching! Let me know you thoughts on Hannah Montana and what your favorite song from Hannah or Miley is!
i honestly wish i didn't remember this show at all
I remember I watched it all but I thought Emily Osment was cooler. I like all the Miley songs which definitely causes me to get mocked sometimes lol
You'll always find your way back home
True Friend, Clear, If We Were A Movie, and I Learned From You always held a special place in my heart in particular.
I can fully assure you that i didnt watch hannah montanna because it was my moms way of keeping my little sister quiet.

I suppose you could argue Robby was a one hit wonder so maybe he was not easily
recognizable, but this always bothered me lmao
Same!
It’s so crazy that Miley literally started the show at 12 years old and then had to tour as both character, film albums, and film series all the way until she was only 17 years old. She did more in those 5 years then some people do their whole lives, and she was just a kid.
The power of nepotism
really remarkable that she came out through all that without going completely crazy
@@deathmetal271 more like the power of disney
I like how you pointed out Miley being overworked doing the show, tours, and movies. I just can’t imagine all that pressure being on me. And then later on is kind of screwed over in a way. So happy she is doing well for herself.
I read somewhere that she's always been great to work with, being nice to everyone etc, which is even more impressing considering all the stress and her young age
My dad was a coke head motorcycle club member. Craziest and toughest guy I've ever met. And also loved this show so unironicly and genuinely. I've seen him knock people out cold and sing his heart out to "best of both worlds" miss ya dad lmao
aw
Good dad

The episode of her losing her voice and fearing that she'll never get it back is my favourite episode.
It felt so real and is legitimately intense
I used to research how her mum died back when i didn't know how fake the show is 😭 since hannah montana became a real life star, it was hard to tell sometimes
Miley Stewart is basically the Disney version of Clark Kent. All she needs to do is wear a wig and no one will recognize her as Hannah Montana, while as for his case, he just needs to wear glasses and no one will recognize him as Superman.
It makes sense tbh. The way your hair is styled and glasses frames your face differently.
or Peter Parker
I mean it is in the same universe as Zach and Cody in which in an episode almost everyone seemed to ignore that Maddie looked like Ashley Tisdale, no wigs involved.

A 2 hour long video on Hannah Montanna is not something I expected on my feed today, but okay. For real, this was a guilty pleasure of mine in high school.
I used to watch it and the homies used to tease me.
Same I grew up with this show loving it but never once told anyone I watched it. My friends and I only ever talked about "manly" shows like Ben 10 or Beyblade lol
its 2 hours long because half of the video is just a review about each episode so I just turned it off
@@markfarago8846 yep same here. Trying to be Quentin without the effort
Elementary school/ middle school for me 🥰
I think Black Mirror is also worth mentioning, since watching this reminded me of the ep Miley was in and it's interesting just how much that ep reflects her real life as she lost more and more control over herself and her image, considering as you mentioned, it was the Hannah Montana brand that Disney owned.
Can confirm the bone dance was ICONIC!! I wanted a full version of the bone dance SOOOO BAD!!!!!
Like Carly ❤❤❤
@TheDawnofVanlife most of the time you need your ssn and a birth certificate (medical record)
Hannah Montana was my favorite show as a kid and Miley was the first singer I ever idolized. I admit I don't listen to her music as often as I used to, but she still holds a special place in my heart and I have a lot of respect for her choosing to stay true to herself regardless of what others thought
I still find it hilarious that they cast a 29 year old man to play Miley's teenage brother and we all just bought it.
I find it rather creepy honestly...
I mean, it’s kinda ideal on these kind of productions if you’re older but still youthful, they don’t have to worry about child labor laws or working with inexperienced kid actors.
Then again, Jason Earles was hilarious as Jackson & we can’t see anyone else playing him.
@@terrance1310 Same!
That ending off with Miley getting a special on Disney+ really just shows how Miley Cyrus truly has made it to where she can have the best of both worlds.
We may joke about how bad a blonde wig is as a celebrity disguise, but Dolly Parton has been doing it for years.
I honestly don't think I've ever seen her without the wig and civilian clothes on.

Long time enjoyer of your content, but I wanted to say that I really enjoyed this type of long video! Other channels/videos covering other Disney/Nick/CN shows sometimes go into the 5-10+ hour "turning into a documentary with individual episode play-by-play" style coverage, and others that are shorter than 10 min quick nostalgia trips - I find that this type of video is one of the best mediums between those, where it's enough of a deep dive to be longer than most, but not encroaching into extremely long coverages of a topic - I think the best thing that you've done with this type of dive is doing more quick bullet point style highlights, like with the Season 1 episodes, just transitioning from one point to the next rather than each single individual point in each episode like other ones I've watched
Looking forward to more of what you make from here, whether it's the 20 min or 2 hour videos you make!
Hannah Montana was truly THAT GIRL ✨

It is insane to me how fresh and familiar all of these episodes feel. I feel like i watched them all last week but its been like 15 years lmao

I’ve been a fan of Miley’s ever since through it all. This was a complete nostalgia trip and I will happily watch hours long deep dives on properties that mean so much to me
One thing that’s crazy about Hannah Montana is some of the guest stars that showed up.
Sure, there were some of the musical artists of the time like Jesse McCartney, David Archuleta, & Iyaz & even other Disney stars like Corbin Bleu of the High School Musical movies, Sterling Knight from Sonny with a Chance, & our favorite Wizard Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place Selena Gomez, but then there are the actors who are more famous now who you’ll say “Wait, they were on Hannah Montana?!”
One of them was the girl who shaved Jackson’s head bald being played by Alison Brie, better known as Annie from Community. However, the craziest of them all was definitely Sheryl Lee Ralph who played Roxy’s old high school rival. To those who don’t know who she is, that’s Barbara from Abbott Elementary! Fantastic video.

Hannah Montana had my whole heart when I was younger. It started when I was 11 and ended when I was 16 or 17. It truly was the end of my childhood.
I Love how Dolly is Miley's Godmother in real life too ❤ such a special bond between them

i feel like the jump from season 2 to 3 they seemed sooo much older and it was probably bc miley was actually touring and working. she really made this kind of goofy concept work and as a child then it felt so real and that the character miley/hannah could’ve been real.
I cried like 5 times during this. Hannah meant so much to me as a kid, the family dynamic was always too close to home and her relationship with her dad is VERY similar to my own. Butterfly Fly Away gets me sobbing 😭
glad you got some mileage from this video, hope if you rewatch the show you’ll enjoy it 👏
Sometimes I think about how half of her songs were about having a double life and wonder in there were ever in-universe conspiracy theorists who were like, saying from the start the she had a double life.
Man I remember watching this series back then and out of all of the plots I always enjoyed the plots involving the b plot when it came to the Rico of the beach house and of how goofy they end up being, and just seeing this video definitely wants me to go back and watch drake and josh, my favorite sitcom because of how relatable it is, definitely makes me wonder if you would cover that series in the future because of how fun that series is
14 year-old me watching that credit card episode has always given me fear of using credit cards and debt in general. Thanks Disney Channel!
They were just such a bizarre and unrelated piece of branding that I’ll never forget them
Disney Channel was one of my childhood channels. Hannah Montana was one of the shows I watched the most. Can’t believe how long it’s been…
1:52:42 in Syonide’s Corey in the House video we came to the conclusion that President Martinez got impeached for abusing his power and that Obama who was his Vice President took on the role.
I love how when ur explaining a ep u actually have the video explaining/matches the scene! Some content I've seen just have the scene in loops!
I love Rob. He is the best character.

Keyan Carlile: I tried to rewatch Hannah Montana and make another long form video but it's just nothing but bad acting and bad jokes
Jordan Fringe: fine I'll do it myself.
Man, all these comments and no one talking about Rrrrrrrrrricooooo? His dynamic with Jackson was my favorite part
i was 6 when it started and watched every season. it was my entire childhood. i’m so glad i got to grow up in this era. i can’t believe it’s been so long, i still remembered every episode you went over vividly :)
it really wouldn’t have worked if it came out at any other time. i have a good memory of my mom pulling me out of school in 4th grade to see the movie
i still love miley and her new music is great. i love seeing who she becomes. it’s so sad what child actors experience. i can’t imagine the impact growing up like that would have, but i’m glad she’s been able to break out of it somewhat
seeing all the merch made me feel like i was transported into my childhood. i definitely didn’t have all of that but it really was EVERYWHERE. mileys walmart clothing line too. just how saturated it was absolutely everywhere is insane to think about, there’s nothing like that today
It’s crazy not only that this show is very old now but it’s really been a decade already since Miley Cyrus did that infamous thing…
I remember the Hannah merch explosion. It's just like the Frozen merch explosion.
Or the Paw patrol merch explosion. It's worse than the Hannah Montana and Frozen merch explosion combined!
As a kid I never realized the amount of big cameos this show got
This was a trip down memory lane XD
I do have a soft spot for the show, as I used to watch it all the time, but I will admit, I feel like Season 3 was when the show (and brand probably) began to decline.
Like she was constantly selfish in the show and everything revolves around her, and the I’ll Always Remember You episode (plus the Sienna episode) has her finally doing something big for other people
Wow... I didn't realize how many episodes I had actually seen until this list.
unpopular opinion, but season 4 was my favorite season. Maybe cause it was the only season with a dvd so i rewatched it a lot, but it felt so mature and well written.
I had a Hannah Montana themed room when I was in early middle school 😭😭😭 this video was fantastic, brought me RIGHT back to age 10
Wow I did not know Miley and Emily didn't get along outside of the show. It reminds me of Blake and Leighton not being friends irl
LOL.
Now give me the HSM video!
you have very good taste
omg same, growing up with the name hannah in this era was such an experience
As a diabetic that episode were Oliver was revealed to be one was THE most relatable thing for me. So many people would gasp and chastise me for eating a cupcake at a party and I'd have to educate grown adults that no, this will not kill me. I get the concern but it could be very annoying when people tell you how to deal with your own disability.
nothing will ever compare to Hannah Montana ever again !!!!!! a truly indescribable childhood
😭😭🫶🏽🫶🏽💜💜 I believe I also had the Hannah Montana makeover head too.
i'm ready. take me on this 2 hour journey of a show i've never watched. thank you in advance for the trip
Unpopular opinion: I hate that they spent 3 seasons building up Jake and Hannah just to break them up. I was really rooting for them 🥲
I watched a video about Cory in the House recently, specifically about President Martinez.
Miley ending up with Jessie was literally my favorite thing growing up. I was rooting for them was so happy they were end game.
What about Phil of the Future, Zack and Cody, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, and also lastly Wizards of Waverly Place!
He already did a video on Phil Of the Future
I have to admit, I thought Quinton Reviews would've done this video, not you. Still, I'm going to watch it 😊
Jordan can give Quinton a run for his money!
@@ericfasold805 agreed, i do like him tho
@@cyborgqueer The only Thing I don't like about QR is that he tends to talk really slow.
My cousin and I loved Hannah back in the day! Watching this brought back so many memories! :)

That merch discussion unlocked vivid memories of playing with Hannah Montana toys that I haven't seen or thought of in over a decade
