I'm not gonna lie. It's hard to watch MKBHD not even because of the speeding because he's been completely silent as far as I'm aware to mention Elon Musk at all. Also he has a history of selling low quality products like his shoes, the app, etc. Undisclosed ads too. I know he's meant to be corporate friendly but with the amount of influence he knows he has, he decides to play it safe and just ignore every controversy. Again, I don't care about the speeding. But like the products, it's just a history of entitled behavior (dude did get pulled over like 6 times in 1 year for speeding in arguably more dangerous situations).

It was very nostalgic seeing this. I have been around since the green attic, hearing about the mandarin ranch, watching the original skits (volunteer cop, and other ones with Wyatt), the mkbhd cameo in your video (why is your wall soo green?), the two office spaces. I came in for Apple content but definitely stayed because of your excitement and ethics when trying to transmit your thoughts. We don't see much of that on UA-cam anymore, as things get more _corporate_ I also genuinely think your non-tech content overall is really interesting, and greatly shows your personality: I really liked the og Tailosive channel with the skits, and really enjoy your vlogs with Louise on Tailosive Talks (I remember seeing videos of you two dating, then getting married, then buying your home, and it is awesome seeing you so in love). The channel may not be growing more, but it has been really cool seeing you grow with it :)
Although my interest in consumer tech, and even EVs to some extent, has withered away by this point in favor of other interests, I’m still going to continue watching your videos till the end. You still provide informative, entertaining content. Also, you and your channel is part of the reason why I personally make my own content now. So all I can say is thank you Drew for all of what you brought to UA-cam over the years, and I’ll continue to support you in whatever ways I can do well into the next era of your YT career.
As of right now, I’ve been getting into riding bikes and tinkering with them. Not only are they interesting as a form of exercise, but I’m especially interested in them as a form of practical transportation. In my view, bikes are incredibly useful and underrated as a tool for people, and I believe they can revolutionize transportation if people give it a chance. Other interests that have overtaken tech for me include history (of anything) and animation (like cartoons, anime, and animated movies). To be clear, I’ve always been very interested in those general topics, but I’ve been especially interested in them now with consumer tech for me stagnating in terms of change.

I have noticed that a lot of my viewers like Apple products but the good thing is they also like older Apple products so I don’t have to encourage consumption via buying new devices constantly. I work a 9 to 5 so my tech channel is more of a creative outlet. Congrats on the new EV channel. I’m definitely going to subscribe. I was planning to attend the car show tomorrow so this is motivation. I’ll grab some footage while there. Definitely leaning more on the car tech side! Much success to you!

I remember watching a video where you were talking about being content with your older devices and not being forced to upgrade. That was so honest, and I greatly appreciated that someone was saying that.
I watch all of my videos in the Subscription feed. But then when I get caught up and have extra time, I'll browse around the Home tab and look through a bunch of random suggested videos and see if there is something interesting to check out. Usually there is if you dig in long enough.
I watch as many as possible. Lots of my tech channels are repeating what others are saying. So I don’t watch many. I do watch Drew as his content is different. I probably watch his EV channel more.
Gotta say 8 years ago when I started following Tailosive I wouldn’t have imagine I’d keep watching you but not MKBHD and here we are, you actually care into making each of your videos unlike having a studio churning out a video of a 10 minute feature talk

I wonder if you edited the skits into Shorts if you’d get more exposure, could even post some of the old ones. I appreciate that you’ve always prioritised being honest and respecting yourself, not just sucking up to brands etc. And you’ve been really smart to make separate channels for all your different types of content. A shame Tailosive Food never took off… I’m falling out of love with Apple generally and I guess a lot of viewers probably feel similarly, it’s not an exciting brand for me to keep with anymore, but I do still enjoy hearing your takes. I really appreciate your honest take on this. It's exhausting watching my favorite UA-camrs struggle to make interesting content about what has become a kind of boring industry. It stinks because I love watching these kinds of videos. It's been therapeutic at times. With that said I'm glad you're doing well with the other channel. What I’ve always loved about this channel is the commitment to calling balls and strikes. No punches held. You’ve also shifted with the times. Tech is plateauing if it isn’t AI related (which is a whole diff can of worms). Also people are becoming more weary of spending on frivolous upgrades.
Another thing that is happening that could account the appearing trend of declining views is focusing only on larger channels. We seem to be in a creator renaissance where many smaller channels are getting recommended and more and more people are watching from many smaller channels, rather than only a few large ones.
I've never been on your channel before this vid. I'm a tech content creator too and the topic resonated with me so i clicked. There's a lot of value in your experience. In the end you talked about the apple dry season... have you considered making vids about budget apple options during these periods? Like you mentioned not much changes productwise YoY, just a thought on a segment of the market you could differentiate yourself with...
as a smaller creator (under 5k subs) I think the biggest blessing is that ive never been invited to events or sponsored outside 1 sponsor segment for $500. while it would be *cool* I think it's helped me keep my channel the way it is. however, there is a ton of pressure to have high production value, videos every day or week and it can definitely lead to some significant burnout. in any case, I like that the biggest privilege I have is that I can make what I want, when I want and never really have to worry about revenue cause my channel really doesn't make money and doesn't affect my income in any way.
I used to watch every video in 2017-2019 watching this feels so nostalgic because this is your first video l have come across in a long time. One video l vividly remember was you visiting your wife's family/country
I’ve watched you for 6 years. A lot at first and less over the years the algorithm hides you occasionally and then I’m back. I tried tech videos myself and then full time work got in that way. Gaming has become my new focus. My channel goal, have fun… and allow me to set aside time to enjoy a hobby I often push aside.
Been watching your videos for ages. I like your healthy skepticism of products. Makes me question whether I need to upgrade to the latest and greatest in a good way.
This is easy. How many viewers heard, this is a must get device only to find every year, it’s the same phones, same interfaces, OS versions that 95% look the same, the “I was wrong about the (fill in the maker and model) videos, click bait crap, bashing devices that they end up buying anyways, early access to products which would make any logical thinker with the IQ of forest gump would raise an obvious eyebrow at. I had about 5 channels that I enjoyed. I rarely watch any of them any more to include Mr who’s the boss and Marcus. The phones are boring. And you content creators are so repetitive every year.
I am one of those who is definitely consuming less tech content at the moment, it has nothing to do with the creators, I just frankly don't find the tech that is coming out very inspiring. No one I know really cares about AI so with every tech company quadrupling down on this makes for very bland products/news. I am still very. much consuming your content though, keep it up! and maybe even more ranting? very relatable
I have been following you since the beginning. At that time I was amazed at how such a young person could have such a good and mature perspective. Now I believe you are way above average. I am not an Apple fan (although I buy some Apple products, but my main phone is a Samsung and my main platform is Windows, although I am writing this from a Mac) and I have kept following you because you are objective and you give a valuable perspective on anything you talk about. I am glad you didn't try to do your ETA prime or your iJustine and saying everything is good so that brands keep sending you stuff. I have nothing against them and sometimes I watch them, but we need people like you

I have been a follower of your channel since the days when you had the blue thumbnails and worked at the farm and have watched every single video. Since then you are one of the first channels I ever subscribed to and will always watch every video your perspective on technology of all brands mostly aligns with mine. I actually think you did a very good job covering the Samsung and Google devices in the past and although you are no longer on team pixel, I would definitely urge you to reconsider making videos about other brands of devices again because this is Tailosive tech after all and not just an Apple channel & I think you will do well. Long time viewer of the ev channel as well.
The problem with tech channels and why I mostly don’t watch them is because they look at latest phones for example from a Tech perspective as if that is what the general public care about, when the general public don’t.
The last part you covered is not necessarily True in my niche. I do other type of tech reviews, such as a thermal imaging scopes and firearm accessories. For my channel, it’s better for me to actually say if I think you should buy this product specifically or not. That is what gives me my credibility, my expertise, and the opinion that I give knowing that I’ve used it extensively.
7:05 - We really need to try prevent that future from coming where everyone gets used to 5-30 second videos and people’s attention span etc. is really downhill. Imagine a whole film in like 20 years time just being like 20-30 mins long due to very low attention span 😅. We need it so we can appreciate reels but also short-long in depth videos.

I started watching you back when i was a freshman in high school and i graduated in 2020. I always come to this channel for apple opinions and i now actually work for apple lol, I didnt know you had an ev channel! I also consistently watch car content so to me this news is quite exciting
Like Halo Star Wars, Star Trek, Funko Pops, and Comics channels. If the companies are messing up their brands, it leads to fan channels crashing. Apple keeps pushing thin over function and forcing everyone to only buy their stuff like Visual Pro power banks. 😮
I like how drew always keeps it real it makes me excited whenever a new video is posted but I get where you’re coming from a lot of what you say I agree with in general tech is more of what caters to me and not EV simply because I can’t afford any EVs.

I think tech channels are not following what users want. You’re right in that “the camera is good. The bezels are small”. But lots of us use the devices for filming action sports. Many of us buy cases that improve on the phone features - devices that attach, water proofing, or remote access. Tech channels focus on what USED to change rapidly and think that’s what we still focus on.
I’ve been watching this channel since it had 3k subscribers and I’d watch it daily. I remember very well the days when Drew was trying to get the iPhone 7, and then the iPhone X. Also when he was mentioned in a Marques video 😅 How time flies.
I think your right smartphone has a kinda peaked along a time ago, so some of the big players on UA-cam switched to basically doing commercials for products and occasionally talking about phones when new ones come out and that's it . Long format videos are kinda done, like you said .
What I like about your channel is, you are like the budget Apple products. Not in a bad way of course. Apple Products are only getting more expensive, so be able to enjoy these products on a budget is still great. There are not many channels that are for the more affordable side. It’s all about bigger is better and get the Pros and the most expensive products.
Every time I wanna submit to the new annual iPhone; I remind myself you still happy years later with your iPh11. Keeping that through the years is also consistency. Respect to you----don't forget who brung you to the alter, lol. Even if winded down; this (channel)would be a respite for you from EV when Apple hits the airwaves.

I might be wrong but here are some problems i noticed with your channel 1. No generic videos- I guess that’s your opinion not to but you don’t do videos like what’s on my iPhone which generally get more views. 2. No collabs- Where there are UA-camrs collaborating left and right you generally stay away from it 3. Don’t cover main videos on any releases, you don’t review any new tech that come out, so why would your videos suggested 4. I used to watch your videos from when you used pour water over your head for super chats in your attic, I used to be your patreon supporter too. Might get hate for saying all this but loved your content even tailosive skits channel with your friends. Loved all of it. Not into EVs much so all the best for your future
I don't even use Apple products but I've been following you for years now. I honestly first followed you just because people told me that you were kind of a case study in an apple sheep. And I thought it would be useful in following tech to have some pro Apple channels since my interest is more in Android and tinkering and open source stuff and the like. But that was probably around the time they released the first apple silicon iMac is when I started paying closer attention and I really enjoyed the way you pivoted towards more socially responsible consumption and experimented with using older phones I absolutely appreciate the way you avoid conflicts of interest not only because of the conflict of interest but I imagine because you don't want it to deteriorate your aesthetic vision for the channel. I think the first time I really started to like your content was when you explain why you were leaving Apple music. It stood out because it countered your reputation at the time as being an apple sheep, it was incredibly lucid and coherent financial advice, and you were promoting less consumption instead of more. I mean if your channel's dying, maybe it's because of that. maybe the algorithm doesn't reward people for actually trying to keep money in the pockets of their viewers rather than those that are desperately trying to get the money out of their viewers pockets and into the hands of them affiliate partners or whatever. This is a consumption based economy and especially a consumption-based platform. Anyway I think you're very good at what you. Occasionally you say something that pisses me off but that's inevitable when you talk on the internet for a living right? But most of the time I think you give coherent lucid advice and are an honest broker
UA-cam needs live streaming and videos that can have two views at the same time. People should be filming everything in full frame so they can crop for different viewing formats. This is a solved problem. UA-cam needs to support it natively by just rotating your phone.
10:52 That’s how I watch UA-cam… I watch 90% of my UA-cam content on my big screen TV. Going to a Subscriptions doesn’t show what I want first. It’s a mess from every channel mixed together. On the road, I set it to Autoplay after selecting the first content. I thought this will tell the algorithm this is the subject I want to listen to while driving. Only, I plays two videos, then gets stuck on a random channel playing many videos on say Lex Friedman or all Phil Defranco stuff when I keep telling it to skip. I’m busy driving and can’t look down at the screen with the tiny controls to que or select something else. I can see accidents being caused by this glitch. 😮 Watch ladies t help because much of it is classes requiring me to watch the screen.

Drew i m here from your beginning. I’ve never missed one video. I’m 41 and i use apple products for at least 20 years or more. I’m not sure if I’m just getting old 😂 but to me Apple used to be exciting and now seems boring and super safe. I guess it’s a general thing, i guess Steve would do things DIFFERENT. While I have noticed myself unsubscribing and losing interest in tech channels over the years, I still keep coming back to your channel for your commentary. I feel that my thoughts on Apple have evolved over time and I appreciate you keeping it real and being honest.
My tech videos have been definitely dying but it's so much fun so I'll never stop making them. It's also nice having companies send things for review
I really appreciate your honest take on this. It's exhausting watching my favorite UA-camrs struggle to make interesting content about what has become a kind of boring industry. It stinks because I love watching these kinds of videos. It's been therapeutic at times. With that said I'm glad you're doing well with the other channel. I am now going there to subscribe, sounds like a lot of interesting things happening there.

What I’ve always loved about this channel is the commitment to calling balls and strikes. No punches held. You’ve also shifted with the times. Tech is plateauing if it isn’t AI related (which is a whole diff can of worms). Also people are becoming more weary of spending on frivolous upgrades.
Another thing that is happening that could account the appearing trend of declining views is focusing only on larger channels. We seem to be in a creator renaissance where many smaller channels are getting recommended and more and more people are watching from many smaller channels, rather than only a few large ones.
I've never been on your channel before this vid. I'm a tech content creator too and the topic resonated with me so i clicked. There's a lot of value in your experience. In the end you talked about the apple dry season... have you considered making vids about budget apple options during these periods? Like you mentioned not much changes productwise YoY, just a thought on a segment of the market you could differentiate yourself with...
the Tech-Business content isn't dying, a clear example is your last video (Apple has become IBM)
as a smaller creator (under 5k subs) I think the biggest blessing is that ive never been invited to events or sponsored outside 1 sponsor segment for $500. while it would be *cool* I think it's helped me keep my channel the way it is. however, there is a ton of pressure to have high production value, videos every day or week and it can definitely lead to some significant burnout. in any case, I like that the biggest privilege I have is that I can make what I want, when I want and never really have to worry about revenue cause my channel really doesn't make money and doesn't affect my income in any way.
Your analysis is the best in the community keep it up.
I used to watch every video in 2017-2019 watching this feels so nostalgic because this is your first video l have come across in a long time. One video l vividly remember was you visiting your wife's family/country

I tried tech videos myself and then full time work got in that way. Gaming has become my new focus. My channel goal, have fun… and allow me to set aside time to enjoy a hobby I often push aside.

This is easy. How many viewers heard, this is a must get device only to find every year, it’s the same phones, same interfaces, OS versions that 95% look the same, the “I was wrong about the (fill in the maker and model) videos, click bait crap, bashing devices that they end up buying anyways, early access to products which would make any logical thinker with the IQ of forest gump would raise an obvious eyebrow at. I had about 5 channels that I enjoyed. I rarely watch any of them any more to include Mr who’s the boss and Marcus. The phones are boring. And you content creators are so repetitive every year.
I am one of those who is definitely consuming less tech content at the moment, it has nothing to do with the creators, I just frankly don't find the tech that is coming out very inspiring. No one I know really cares about AI so with every tech company quadrupling down on this makes for very bland products/news.
I am still very. much consuming your content though, keep it up! and maybe even more ranting? very relatable

I have been following you since the beginning. At that time I was amazed at how such a young person could have such a good and mature perspective. Now I believe you are way above average. I am not an Apple fan (although I buy some Apple products, but my main phone is a Samsung and my main platform is Windows, although I am writing this from a Mac) and I have kept following you because you are objective and you give a valuable perspective on anything you talk about. I am glad you didn't try to do your ETA prime or your iJustine and saying everything is good so that brands keep sending you stuff. I have nothing against them and sometimes I watch them, but we need people like you

6:40 It's not that teens don't have time for 10 minute videos, it's that youtube keeps shoving low quality 4 hour videos in my face, when I want to watch high quality 5 minute videos.

I have been a follower of your channel since the days when you had the blue thumbnails and worked at the farm and have watched every single video. Since then you are one of the first channels I ever subscribed to and will always watch every video your perspective on technology of all brands mostly aligns with mine. I actually think you did a very good job covering the Samsung and Google devices in the past and although you are no longer on team pixel, I would definitely urge you to reconsider making videos about other brands of devices again because this is Tailosive tech after all and not just an Apple channel & I think you will do well. Long time viewer of the ev channel as well.
The problem with tech channels and why I mostly don’t watch them is because they look at latest phones for example from a Tech perspective as if that is what the general public care about, when the general public don’t.
The last part you covered is not necessarily True in my niche. I do other type of tech reviews, such as a thermal imaging scopes and firearm accessories. For my channel, it’s better for me to actually say if I think you should buy this product specifically or not. That is what gives me my credibility, my expertise, and the opinion that I give knowing that I’ve used it extensively.
7:05 - We really need to try prevent that future from coming where everyone gets used to 5-30 second videos and people’s attention span etc. is really downhill. Imagine a whole film in like 20 years time just being like 20-30 mins long due to very low attention span 😅. We need it so we can appreciate reels but also short-long in depth videos.

I started watching you back when i was a freshman in high school and i graduated in 2020. I always come to this channel for apple opinions and i now actually work for apple lol, I didnt know you had an ev channel! I also consistently watch car content so to me this news is quite exciting

I like how drew always keeps it real it makes me excited whenever a new video is posted but I get where you’re coming from a lot of what you say I agree with in general tech is more of what caters to me and not EV simply because I can’t afford any EVs.

I think tech channels are not following what users want. You’re right in that “the camera is good. The bezels are small”. But lots of us use the devices for filming action sports. Many of us buy cases that improve on the phone features - devices that attach, water proofing, or remote access. Tech channels focus on what USED to change rapidly and think that’s what we still focus on.
I’ve been watching this channel since it had 3k subscribers and I’d watch it daily. I remember very well the days when Drew was trying to get the iPhone 7, and then the iPhone X. Also when he was mentioned in a Marques video 😅 How time flies.
I think your right smartphone has a kinda peaked along a time ago, so some of the big players on UA-cam switched to basically doing commercials for products and occasionally talking about phones when new ones come out and that's it . Long format videos are kinda done, like you said .

What I like about your channel is, you are like the budget Apple products. Not in a bad way of course. Apple Products are only getting more expensive, so be able to enjoy these products on a budget is still great. There are not many channels that are for the more affordable side. It’s all about bigger is better and get the Pros and the most expensive products.
Every time I wanna submit to the new annual iPhone; I remind myself you still happy years later with your iPh11. Keeping that through the years is also consistency. Respect to you----don't forget who brung you to the alter, lol. Even if winded down; this (channel)would be a respite for you from EV when Apple hits the airwaves.

I might be wrong but here are some problems i noticed with your channel
1. No generic videos- I guess that’s your opinion not to but you don’t do videos like what’s on my iPhone which generally get more views.
2. No collabs- Where there are UA-camrs collaborating left and right you generally stay away from it
3. Don’t cover main videos on any releases, you don’t review any new tech that come out, so why would your videos suggested
4. I used to watch your videos from when you used pour water over your head for super chats in your attic, I used to be your patreon supporter too.
Might get hate for saying all this but loved your content even tailosive skits channel with your friends. Loved all of it. Not into EVs much so all the best for your future
I don't even use Apple products but I've been following you for years now. I honestly first followed you just because people told me that you were kind of a case study in an apple sheep. And I thought it would be useful in following tech to have some pro Apple channels since my interest is more in Android and tinkering and open source stuff and the like.
But that was probably around the time they released the first apple silicon iMac is when I started paying closer attention and I really enjoyed the way you pivoted towards more socially responsible consumption and experimented with using older phones
I absolutely appreciate the way you avoid conflicts of interest not only because of the conflict of interest but I imagine because you don't want it to deteriorate your aesthetic vision for the channel.
I think the first time I really started to like your content was when you explain why you were leaving Apple music. It stood out because it countered your reputation at the time as being an apple sheep, it was incredibly lucid and coherent financial advice, and you were promoting less consumption instead of more.
I mean if your channel's dying, maybe it's because of that. maybe the algorithm doesn't reward people for actually trying to keep money in the pockets of their viewers rather than those that are desperately trying to get the money out of their viewers pockets and into the hands of them affiliate partners or whatever.
This is a consumption based economy and especially a consumption-based platform.
Anyway I think you're very good at what you. Occasionally you say something that pisses me off but that's inevitable when you talk on the internet for a living right?
But most of the time I think you give coherent lucid advice and are an honest broker
UA-cam needs live streaming and videos that can have two views at the same time. People should be filming everything in full frame so they can crop for different viewing formats. This is a solved problem. UA-cam needs to support it natively by just rotating your phone.

I watch 90% of my UA-cam content on my big screen TV.
Going to a Subscriptions doesn’t show what I want first. It’s a mess from every channel mixed together.
On the road, I set it to Autoplay after selecting the first content.
I thought this will tell the algorithm this is the subject I want to listen to while driving.
Only, I plays two videos, then gets stuck on a random channel playing many videos on say Lex Friedman or all Phil Defranco stuff when I keep telling it to skip.
I’m busy driving and can’t look down at the screen with the tiny controls to que or select something else. I can see accidents being caused by this glitch. 😮
Watch ladies t help because much of it is classes requiring me to watch the screen.
