Small-scale projects, right. As long as you get it done. Not being precious on things. Also being economical. Really love the theme on constraints (and how to work your way around it) with your videos so far.
I def want to try making lower stakes, more fun and short animations. It's a great way to experiment with different styles and try ideas you might not normally think of trying.
Some of my favourite work I've done has been ones I've felt were really low stakes, whether its a stupid joke game for a 1 week game jam or trying to make a video project in under a week. it can be so freeing and inspiring to do smaller projects. been wanting to get more into animation and i might try some smaller stupid projects to get into the swing of things!
I re-watched em a lot, something about your artistic style and comedy, the pacing and overall vibes really was impressive to me! I would definitely watch a full show with these characterizations!
Highly detailed paintings and paintings with good squint read are indistinguishable to most viewers. That's what's good about your shorts. You're focusing on the squint read.
for someone like me who's been out of practice for a while, making stupid and-dare I say it-*lazy* animation helps me build more confidence and stamina for my dream projects. humor definitely helps relieve the pressure of doing something top-tier and professional-looking, but I think this principle applies to just about every kind of animation. animation memes come to mind, for example. thanks for the video! my perfectionistic mind really needed this reminder. P.S. please stop saying "blowing my wad." /j
ok wait, now hold on. I might actually do that Green screen thing. Cuase I spend a lot of time with storage management and it'll probably be better if I just did that render with the Greenscreen instead. I never thought about what could be lighter on the render pass.
Will you show how you import your 2d image sequence animations? It looks like some things changed in blender and the 'image sequence option doesnt show up anymore.
When I was a layout artist, my job was to create files for each shot of the episode, and import the background, the props, the characters (it was puppet animation), the effects, add the piece of animatic and sound track for each. I had to also place the characters the way the storyboarder intended in the animatic, and sometimes put the right posing at the right moment in the shot. I don’t know if I’m clear enough (I’m French 😅), but in a cartoon show the layout is the step after the animatic and before the animation, by placing the characters with the right posings, at the right spot and the right timing, makes the workflow easier for the animators because of the tight schedule 😊 Hope it helped!
It’s just 2 dogs failing to be sigma. They’re like the classic disaster duo from cartoons
i dont really like how u phrased that but i completely agree
i like how you phrased that
i love how thou phrased that and i agree
A short not doing well is what kills it for me, every time. I'm much less bothered if I didn't invest a whole month into it.
I love your "stupid shorts" Toniko please crank out more when you can
The drunken fist of animation, these shorts are genuinely inspiring every time I watch one, even if it's 2 dogs enjoying their sketchbooks too much
I love these "stupid shorts" need see more.

When you mentioned that this process allowed you to not be so insecure about your work that stood out to me. “Have your moment”
Short projects are how we learn to do bigger ones.
8:03 The file sizes when dealing with transparent image sequences is insane for me so I might actually try the chroma key method.

2:00 that poor college dudebro was getting ragdolled for a minute straight
The stupidness in these animations is what makes them so great and funny, I love them all and they're still great nonetheless
Your dog characters are my favorites! I hope to see more short stories about them!
See, what *I* learned from your stupid shorts was that I'm NOT crazy and other people have noticed these stereotypes too! 😂😅
At the end of the day I watch Toniko because I find his perspective insightful. Thank you for sharing!

The thumbnail: It's the pervy art bro dogs! 😂
Your work is so god damn beautiful. Youre part of why i started animating.

Have you ever tried ToonSquid on iPad?
5:32 what do those things in the top right do, i'm pretty curious
Make a show of that stupid dogs and sell it to cartoon Network, that can revive them😂
I have one question. What is layout? I heard that word from everywhere and I tried to look for info but that confused me more
Yeah and all the books on the subject are always sold out.

Maybe I should do the same
Why the characters are dogs🐶? And the cats😺? And the rabbits🐇? And the dragons🐲? .... 😂🤣
Take a swig of tea every time you hear the word "stupid" 😌
you are making me waterlogged
