Ik a lot of veteran fallout fans including me still sometimes are disappointed or don’t look that fondly at some aspects of fallout 3 but I still love fallout 3 it introduced me to everything I grew to love about the series
For me i got into fallout because of fallout 4, now its a ultra moded hellhole where anything without a human brain will most certainly try to kill you and me
Fallout 3, for all it changed, did certainly have its moments, I still remember that day when I first walked out of 101, I realized this is one of those games that opens a person's eyes. That was 7 years ago, and I wouldn't change it at all.
The ending were you get to see your dad and kid you is what always made fallout 3 and it's story stand out to me, made his death feel more real and not like other games were you've lost parents. He was a good father, a good roll model and in the end his child followed his example which made the picture speak with more words to me then Ron Pearlman's ending monologue. It was an honour to have this be my first fallout game. Great edit even 1 year later, will be back here even 10 years later. Take care all!
For all the flaws this game had, may it be mechanic, storytelling wise, and whatnot. It still holds a dear place in my heart. The atmosphere, the wasteland horror, the bleakness, the hours spend with mods, exploring the wasteland, being happy to meet a person with a name to talk to for a bit before fighting through super mutants and tainted souls. It was a good ride. Wonderfull edit, you're one of the few to make meaningful edits
It is by no means a perfect game, but it is a very meaningful one in my life, I don't think I'd be as dedicated of a gamer if I hadn't played that when I did.
This was a great machinima for Fallout 3. Running Up That Hill would be a good song to play for a machinima of Knights of the Old Republic 2's plot and cast as well.
The only flaw I give Fallout New Vegas is that because of that game people started giving shit to Fallout 3, this game is easily a solid 8/10 for me it had a lot of errors but for every mistake it made it made up for it with plenty more good things, sure Fallout New Vegas evolved the mechanics this game had but Fallout 3 deserves more recognition.
Just imagine our Lone Wonder just sitting in class going day by day having their ups and downs feeling somewhat bleak living in the vault but was grateful for the peace and quiet like their father taught them so they figured nothing would ever change much around the vault as the lone wonder grew into a young adult until things did and life would never be the same for the Lone Wonder... Betrayal, Unimaginable Pain and Horror, Faith and Hope.
This game made me feel more than any fallout game, fallout new vegas was my first fallout and it let me create my charecter and choose my own path but fallout 3 made me FEEL, i felt when james died and when the lone wanderer sacrificed himself at the purifier but nothing hit me like it did until i was playing point lookout and had just finished the dream sequence, i grabbed some beer for the lone wanderer and went to the top of the lighthouse and just listened to the radio as i felt the emotions of how utterly alone he was, no father, no mother, no home, no friends, no love, and it was one of the best moments ive ever felt in a game without the game even telling me anything, yet through all of that pain and solemnes the lone wanderer stood up and finished point lookout, and he returned to the capital wasteland to do good and help those around him, no matter how hard it got.
Aww, the image of the player with their father at the end always makes me feel some kind of way. The Lone Wanderer just wanted to have a familiar and loving face with them. Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son." Revelation 21:5-7
Despite the flaws this game have, and how far from perfect it was, it still holds a dear place in my childhood. The story, whilst could of been told better, was beautifully tragic. A story of father and child changing the fates of countless, and eventually paying the ultimate price.
It does bring a tear in the eye, to see all those in game locations and characters, I was in 7th grade when I first played it, feels like a lifetime ago.
Despite all the flaws that this game has, I will always love this game and all it's expantions. This was a fantastic video that gave me a big grin the entire time.
It’s always great to see projects with so much passion in them. Especially when they turn out this good. Also here’s an idea if you would care for it to making videos like this about individual characters really bring emotions and light to there stories.
Glad you like it, I might do that in the future, I am still holding on to hope that the games will get a remake or that those remake mods will come out soon so I can make videos in the newer engine.
I'm glad I made you feel anything at all! Glad you enjoyed it, my passion for this game has been a big factor in my overall life decisions..most importantly, wanting to study and make films. :D
Great tribute, fallout 3 is one of my all time favourite game of all time and will always hold close a place in my heart. after my father suddenly passed away recently, i just think back when James died back in the purifier. thank you for this great tribute.
You know I've been replaying 3, going through all the DLCs for the first time and man...Fallout 3 is just sad. Maybe more than any ohter Fallout protagonist, the Lone Wanderer loses the most. Lost their mother at birth, lost their home, their best friend, their father. Constantly used and tossed around and abandoned by everyone around them. To the point I'm planning on writing a fanfiction, following thje events of the game from the perspective of my Lone Wanderer, because Bethesda actually struck a good balance between giving you enough to care without railroading your backstory.
when people say fallout 3 isn't a good story. from now i will share this every time. i love fallout 3 and NV but F3 the second game i had every played and my first fallout was F3 it is so much better then people give it credit for. and yes like everything it has flaws.
This was my first fallout. I also bought new Vegas but didn’t play it for a while. I remember my younger self not even knowing what fallout was. And just picked it in GameStop just because I liked the power armor on the cover. Fallout series are always going to be my favorite.
I absolutely love this edit--it gave me chills to watch along with such a good song choice and definitely gave me lots of inspiration for fanfics I've been working on LOL always great work from you!!
Hey! Thank you for the feedback on this! Just yesterday I uploaded a small analysis involving Fallout and Starfield if you'd be interested in something like that. More Cinematic stuff like this will follow on the channel too!

excellent videos my man! I wish there was a subfaction of the Enclave that opposes the BS of the leaders and actually fights to protect the people and cares about the people... and not this faction of fanatics bent to kill everyone not "pure" enough.
Nice to see you still going at it Kshow even after all these years. It is sad though that Bethesda are driving fallout into the ground or already have.
Ohh I am going strong and plan on making many more videos in the future, you could say I plan on growing the channel as I can balance it better with my work now. Glad you liked the video! I hope that the next Fallout...which is probably like 5 6 if not 10 years away - will bring back what we all loved in the franchise..Also hoping that that Amazon Tv show will be better than the Halo adaptation...but that's not exactly setting a high bar. hah
@@CouchPatroll I'm glad you're going strong. And yes I hope so as well and hopefully that TV show will be nuka break level. And oh yes the "Halo" TV show. I expunged that from my memories lol.

I know I'm the minority but between 3 and NV , 3 has always been my favorite. Their both amazing games and I like to play them once a decade or so. But 3 is the one I tend to go to. However I've been playing fallout 4 since far harbor was released and I play in fallout 4 every couple years. Same character
Despite the flaws of 3 it was still a fantastic game, I miss when games were good and not miserable, depressing and not fun to play with no woke shit in it.
