Never in a million years would I have thought Rachel Luttrell could sing like that. What a magnificent, angelic voice. What a treat. Even to this day I get major goosebumps and chills while listening it. This was a total surprise. Thank you Rachel. Thank you for this wonderful upload Saurie.
^^ they put more effort into them . 2010+ has barely 100+ songs where as in 1999 i could fid nd a bad one and it could still be listenable to and i only have 8 that ive chekced 100% good for repeat 24/7 i repeat same music often n analize musics all the time. the cartoon themes are so nice electric.. I AM WHEESEL.. the girl voice singing there.. is suuuueper.. epic, TOTALLY SPIES theme is as good as mortal kombat and its only 29 seconds long..perfectly made. i analize how much tmperature we get, reactions from things.. musicsin the long run how much more motivation/energy to we receive from it than we lose, n compare musics n make such ways.. n remixes, that the best ones.. mm well ones that we can repeat 24/7.. actually prove musics using physics, whic hone is better for repeating more often, ur momentum condition doesnt matetr much coz it changes easily and then it remains in a same way in accordination/syncronizationWithMusic
Beyond the night, a rising sun Beyond the night, the battle's won The battle is won. Fear and shame now in the past Pain and sorrow gone at last Gone at last. Circle renewed, peace will be found Beyond the night on sacred ground. River flows, led by the wind. First new breath, our journey begins Our journey begins.
This episode has just been on TV...so here I am searching for the song. Beautiful...very Celtic, kind of Clannad or Enya..ish It speaks to our souls, about the journey we must all one day take.
So i have epilepsy and it has caused amnesia so im getting to rewatch this show from the start as fresh and i think that may be the only upside to amnesia that and firefly of course. thank everyone for there support and watching this video now if only i could remember making it lol i havent made it to this episode yet i cant wait!
Wow thanks and revel in the positive you get to experience these great shows, songs, etc many times over.... Curios have you heard of walk-ins? You may be one...
Teyla is fresh, imaginative, respectfull. An amazing singer, a great warrior and a wonderful leader. How to say this differently? She's perfect. Or she alreadry made her ascend. haha
Such an absolutely gorgeous melody performed awesomely by Rachel. It was a VERY pleasant surprise to hear in the Sci-show; quite unexpected, but MOST welcome. This song not only adds so much to the scenes power, but also greatly enhances the cultural realism of the fictional characters and societies represented on screen. It is beautiful cinematography.
This creaton is the best I have seen of Rachel Luttrell and Beyond The Night. I have looked for a recording with Joel Goldsmith the writer, but haven't found any as yet.... I just realized this song after watching this episode from my whole series collection, not the first viewing, don't know why I missed this from a previous viewing ! This song has a real Celtic Flare which I am very much connected with....
Sooo beautiful. when i first heard this i thought they had someone else do it. i didn't think an actor could have a beautiful voice like that. LOVE her dress.
+Tiffany Abramowicz this song is from the ep. critical mass. the scenes of atlantis being attacked and all the fight scenes did not come from this episode tho. in critical mass (while she is singing the song, how ever they are being threatened by the goa'uld, i just took out all those sceans and added some of my fav scenes and removed the talking between the lyrics.) i found this version (could be that im partial to it XD lol better then in the show. but LOVED it when i seen it in the show which inspired the video of course. this video was actually featured of taylas character bio on gateworld.com for a bit. was my stargate highlight fan moment XD
Simply unbelievable. The composer of this music Joel Goldsmith passed away yesterday. His scores really brought out the soul of all the SG-series. At one time there was talk of Joel bringing Rachel Luttrell back into the studio to make a studio version of this song for an upcoming Stargate soundtrack CD. That opportunity has undoubtedly slipped away.
I saw recently a replay of that chapter, but speaking about that amazing song, is it me or that song has some similarities with celtic music? Something to give a little think... Other than that, i love it.. Live long... and prosper..
Beyond the night a rising sun. Beyond the night the battles won. The battle is won. Fear and shame now in the past. Pain and sorrow gone at last. Gone at last. Circle renewed. Peace will be found. Beyond the night on sacred ground. River flows led by the wind. First new breath our journey begins. Our journey begins.
This song is Teyla - it brings out the feminine side of her personality which sadly we do not see enough of - added to favourites because I will be playing this regularly.
@Christopher1290 Agreed. I thought the way that the shot of the 2 Wraith ships coming into orbit over the planet was matched to the sudden inclusion of drums into the song was beautifully done, as was the entire sequence of the team frantically trying to discover the traitor, get the code and stop the city from exploding, intercut with the funeral scenes.
@selena91130 If you look at the "Forum" on Joel Goldsmith's website ( f r e e c l y d e d o t c o m ) and search for 'Beyond the Night' - you will see that when they recorded this, they actually had to ask her to not sing it so well. It turns out she has a very pristine and accomplished voice, that was "too good" (too much clarity) for her 'Athosian' character. It makes you wonder what her real voice sounds like, when she is not 'holding back'.
Rachel was on broadway for a while in the cast of Beauty and the Beast. When she rehearsed this song, she had a very strong vibrato, but the director wanted a more smooth sound for the song. So yes she did have a past singing career. On Broadway!!
@Saiurie As part of the Trust's plan, a distress signal is sent out from Atlantis, attracting the attention of 2 Wraith cruisers, to add to the team's problems. They don't actually attack the city, as the team manages to trick them, but the shot of the cruisers approaching orbit is used during this song.
@Christopher1290 Actually this song was taken from critical mass, an operative of the Trust plants a bomb in Atlantis. their are no wraith attacking in this episode
In one of the Stargate Atlantis novels Teyla sings again in order to defeat an enemy they were facing. Sort of a human-Wraith hybrid. Anyway, Doctor Daniel Jackson discovered a cantillation (a Hebrew hymn I think) that seemed like it would stop these things. So Teyla sang and they all died. No joke. Doctor Lam later determined that the Ancient scientist who created them put it in there as a failsafe. Teyla was horrified by what her singing could do but it WAS necessary.
wait see that is one thing i dont care for on the books they do change stuff like you just said " Doctor Lam later determined that the Ancient scientist who created them put it in there as a failsafe" in the show they didnt create them on purpus it was an accident ware they populated a planet with the bug and they evolved. but sounds like a good read none the less.
Actually the Wraith in the show were GUESSED to have been created that way. The Legacy books give a more definitive creation story for them. It happened on that planet Atlantis landed on in those books too by the way.
@link38597 No - it's from Season 2, Episode 13: Critical Mass - just watched it on Sky 1 - they're repeating the series and it actually seems to be in order this time !!
DAMNNNN this was fucking epic. It reminded me of lord of the rings the return of the king with pippin singing lol. I was shocked when I heard her first sing I thought she had to have been lip synching lol.
@Saiurie @link38597 No - it's from Season 2, Episode 13: Critical Mass - just watched it on Sky 1 - they're repeating the series and it actually seems to be in order this time !!
cheaster cheeto Please email it to me as well if you don't mind. chris_robbins@bellsouth.net I love her singing this song and can't find it anywhere. Thanks
The beginning of this song suggests to Vangelis-L'enfant (from the film: A Year of Living Dangerously), but I like Rachel's song and this film. I think it is so much better than SG1. Ronon, Teyla, Rodney and J. Sheppard just like big family for the sake of their pectoral relationships between each other. I know, this film is only a TV series, not a big movie for cinemas, that's why it has it's limits, but it has a special emotional elation, what emphasizes from the other SG series. I MISS IT!
Thank you. this one was the hardest one ive done so far i had to match the song to her lip movment. because i didnt want everyone talking threw the video.
Myan women sang in this tone and tempo. I am speculating a little but I heard simular sounding songs on a Myan TV special documentary. Soon as I heard the singing I thought of Rachel Lutrell's rendition here.
@Blitzfire315 Yes, I suppose that was the producers' way of getting Jewel Staite onto the show, and being able to introduce a love interest for Rodney.
This show shouldn't have been cancelled. I'm still upset in 2019 about it.
It's 2024 and I'm still upset about it
I’m still upset also in 2024
Can we agree that SG1, SGA, and SGU were the best sci fi series out there? They need to be continued to continue the journey.
Don't forget Battlestar Galactica
The expanse started off great but sucked at the end.
I loved SG1 liked SGA but wasn’t big on SGU. The series was just too depressing and didn’t have the good feel of stargate
I also missed the positivity in SGU. Maybe i should give it a chance again
Never in a million years would I have thought Rachel Luttrell could sing like that. What a magnificent, angelic voice. What a treat. Even to this day I get major goosebumps and chills while listening it. This was a total surprise. Thank you Rachel. Thank you for this wonderful upload Saurie.
Glad I'm not the only one who loves songs from shows and finds them!

Maybe you might like enya I want tomorrow
Lyrics are something like a sacred ground devil's pass movie is not bad a song from that is Les mecs unrest and I think it's amazing Les mecs unrest
@@kirstylouwoo30 I find this sound legendary
Beyond the night, a rising sun

Beyond the night on sacred ground.

Normally I hate it when they sing in TV-shows. But this kills it! Love her voice, love her character and love to Misses Lutrell!
My God she sings like an angel
Never forget the first time I heard this... Blown away
I too want this song sung at my funeral. I love her voice!😍
re-watching atlantis atm and this song has been in my head for days.. beautiful
She sings beautifully.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
SHADOWWOLF77
If Atlantis existed or its still there in water or space we dont know but from what I hear, the Atlantians would love it soo much!
This episode has just been on TV...so here I am searching for the song.
Beautiful...very Celtic, kind of Clannad or Enya..ish
It speaks to our souls, about the journey we must all one day take.
waynester71 only if it would be real .... If this ascension would be real. you'd love so but these heaven and hell stories are boring.
This was absolutely by far my favorite scene....its beautiful, she's amazing. This show is awesome!
I'm watching SGA right now and this Song blow my mind! Thanks for sharing!!! 👍👍👍
So i have epilepsy and it has caused amnesia so im getting to rewatch this show from the start as fresh and i think that may be the only upside to amnesia that and firefly of course. thank everyone for there support and watching this video now if only i could remember making it lol i havent made it to this episode yet i cant wait!

well you are one very lucky person which i could forget watching it to get to re-watch it afresh

+Ale20000X tell me about it! it should've went as far as SG1. And to think they cancelled it for stupid Stargate Universe.
Sooo beautiful. when i first heard this i thought they had someone else do it. i didn't think an actor could have a beautiful voice like that. LOVE her dress.
Had this randomly wander into my head today. Glad I could find it hear and listen to the full thing. Love this
Thanks
Gave me goose bumps on the show.
This has always been one of my favorite episodes because of the scenes they show while atlantis is attacked.
I don't watch the show but watched a five minute short on the making of this episode and fell in love with this song.
All of our shared moments, the first meeting, the first touch, first kiss, i thank you ......

It is almost the same with "The song of the sea"

I love Stargate

Love this song!! It gives me chills it's that good
Thank you very much for this, I have been looking for a version without the dialouge in it. I appreciate this very much, 5 stars.

Ich schau mir gerade wieder alle 5 Staffeln an. Schade das sie keine neue rausbringen. Stargate Atlantis forever♥♥♥♥♥♥
I love this. Yes she was a trained singer by one of her parents. She has a Album out which is Jazzy. She is married to a stunt man Lloyd Batemen.

Very nice edit .. I was thinking about doing just this. You got it done 13yrs sooner

At first thought Rachel was lip synching a Loreena Mc Kennitt song. Love her voice and this song!

love the song she is a great actor and a pretty lady
Beatifull
I'm so sad this series finished. I loved it so much.
Nice.
this song is so beautiful
so I've listened to other songs she had sang and for some reason this is her only style that i like. Amazing voice for Celtic singing.
