As I look back it seems that the church I grew up in had a fairly spiritually aligned message, and I'm grateful for that. My perspective on God widened as I studied science and began to see the miracles of creation. But I still believed God to be a separate albeit supreme being. As I entered recovery from alcoholism, I learned a lot about others' perspectives on a Higher Power and that individuals can have variable beliefs which are all valid. Then came the concept of Source and how each of us is an instance of Source knowing itself and that Source can be thought of as the fundamental Consciousness of all that is. Last weekend I attended a service at the church I grew up in, and there received a message about Christ Consciousness which sounded very much like the messages of some of my favorite spiritual teachers. This really felt like a profound synchronicity!

Thanks for sharing! I grew up going to a Protestant (Christian) school, and although I liked learning about the Bible/Christianity back then, deep down I doubted if it was actually true.
I always loved learning about various religions, worldviews, philosophies, etc., and so I could never go full atheist even in my college years, when I went through a period of rejecting Christianity in favor of a more pantheistic/universalist worldview. I always felt that the material world of the 5 senses couldn’t possibly be all there is; there had to be some deeper spiritual truth behind it all.
Long story short, various life circumstances led me to finally read through the entire Bible myself at age 23, so I could be exposed to it firsthand rather than always hearing about it secondhand from other people. It was at this point that I became a true believer in Jesus.
Basically what I believe is that God is a spiritual being (not an old man on a cloud like the pop culture cliche), but He is also a personal being in the sense that He has personal characteristics such as a mind, will, emotions, etc., and He created the universe volitionally as an intelligent designer.
I also believe that the biblical Christian faith is not a matter of being part of an institution or denomination per se, but knowing this personal God on a relational level by receiving His Holy Spirit within you. This happens when one approaches His Word (the Bible) with a genuine and humble desire to simply come to the knowledge of the truth as He has revealed in Scripture, and wholeheartedly believing the gospel of Jesus.
I know this will sound arrogant to many people, but I believe every person who is genuinely seeking for the truth of our world will eventually end up at Jesus at the end of the rabbit trail. I don’t say this to demean or to mock anyone, but simply as a matter of deep conviction and a desire to share this with whoever is at least willing to listen. How the listener responds is ultimately between them and God, and so I leave it at that.
Thank you as always for your video/perspective, and have a great day.

@codyreitsma5918 Thanks for sharing your experience and opinions, Cody! 🤍 I certainly do believe Jesus is a great teacher, but also not the only teacher. I honor your faith and belief in him, though I do not see him as the inevitable answer to everyone's path. Many religions speak of similar teachings beneath the surface, and so I am glad Christianity was your answer! May you be well, and much love! 🙏🏻🤍

it's cool to question if you want and it's cool not to if you don't want too. whatever you're ready for. I think the animism beliefs are ultimately right to my understanding but so are higher beings and types of hell. hell isn't real for some more "primitive" isolated pockets of humanity, there are gods and freedom for them. hell becomes real when you accept and play by its rules and there are benefits to that as well if you're willing. we're born into or captured into things. what I wonder is why men are circumcised, why did the gods of old demand the foreskins of slain enemy tribesmen. what are they doing with it.
