Poor little Gizmo 😢. So lucky to survive such a horrific injury. Your amazing skills and expertise ensured that, although now with only one ear he’s happy and healthy again and can carry on enjoying his life with Irene 👏🏻🐶❤
They are tough little dogs. Ours had 6 thoracic disc disintegrate and she never let anyone know she had pain. She was still running, refused to use her stairs to get onto the couch and was playing with the cat. We didn't know until we xrayed her for another issue she had anything wrong with her back. The Vet couldn't understand how she could walk.
Poor Gizmo. What a horrible thing to happen. I hope Gizmo goes on to lead a long, happy life with Irene. I cannot imagine the terror that lady felt when her little dog was being attacked. It doesn't say if the attacking dog was with an owner or if it was running wild on it's own. If it was with an owner, I hope the owner is prosecuted for allowing a dog to get dangerously out of control and is made to pay for Gizmo's treatment.
Poor little Gizmo endured such a horrific attack and injuries Very traumatic to think what he went throigh. Thankful he is safe now and recovered..Gizmo is a little warrior ..❤🙏
I’m so glad little Gizmo survived the attack; he must have gone into complete shock when that happened. Thank you Dr. Scott and team for looking after him.
Horrific! Poor Gizmo 😢 Dr. Scott, you made the right call . He will be handsome and loved no matter! Thxs. Dr. Scott for your compassion and expertise ❤
I had a 4 pound Yorkie attacked by a pit bull. She survived but only because the dog didn’t have a chance to shake her. 3 broken ribs, nerve damage to her right side. Bruises everywhere.
@@Lauren-vd4qe Would have but the fella who owned the dog lied about his name and gave me a wrong phone number. I had to get my little girl to the vet so I was pretty distracted. We didn’t have cell phones to take photos back then and the laws around pit bulls didn’t exist. I knew where the guy worked (a construction company) but his boss hung up on me when I called him to find out who this guy was. I used to drive to construction sites looking for him but no luck.
What a situation to have to go through! For future reference, look for witnesses and call the police. Then report him to animal control. Personally, I would wait around for his car registration number. It's always been the easiest way to trace someone and we've had vehicle recognition devices for over 20 years. The police would have followed up with his boss.
A greyhound attacked my Cavvie puppy and nearly killed her. Her jaw was broken, with a part actually missing, and she had to have a graft from her hip. She spent 6 weeks at the Cambridge University vet hospital, with her jaw wired and braced, and a feeding tube in her neck. She healed thanks to the dedicated skill of those vets, but her jaw was always misaligned. She only lived for 8 years and I will always wonder if the attack as a puppy shortened her life. If you have a little dog, always try to be aware of the danger of bigger dogs. Thank God Gizmo has survived and that his mum still has her darling Earth Angel.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Gizmo is a lucky dog to have survived such a brutal attack! How traumatizing for both him and his owner, Irene. Thank you, Dr. Scott, for taking such good care of him. I am sorry that he had to lose his ear, even if it was for the best. Also, I hope that the owner of the dog that attacked Gizmo was held responsible! They should at least have to pay for the vet bills.
Gizmo is so lucky to have such a wonderful vet doing their upmost to give him the best treatment possible 👏🏻👨⚕💓 Taking his ear off was a tough decision but made with Gizmos best interests at heart and he’s now happy and enjoying his life and 🤞🏻 not suffering from any long term trauma as a result of the horrendous injury 🐶👨⚕❤
What a horrible thing to experience, every small dogs owner's nightmare. A miracle that it ended as well as it did. Fantastic job by you and your team Scott, as always, and wish sweet Gizmo and his loving owner all the best in life, they are both absolutely amazing 🤗💖🇳🇴
For some of us, our dogs or any pet are more than that. They’re our family. Poor little Gizmo. I can’t imagine the despair of his mommy. So glad he made it
Poor little Gizmo 😢. What horrific injuries he sustained by this dreadful dog. Luckily, he wasn't killed. I do hope he isn't traumatised for the rest of his life with ptsd. What a great job, Dr. Scott, as always.
I have two tiny dogs, one is a rescue who used to be scared of everything and her baby daughter. Mum will protect her daughter no matter who she has to fight, My greatest fear is a bigger dog attack, honestly we have a big yard and I don’t take them out often.
I thought your poor nurse was going to vomit when you took the bandages off. If the owner of the attacker is known, then they should be sued for the costs of veterinary care and for the trauma inflicted upon both Gizmo and Irene. I’m sure they’ve both had horrendous nightmares. Prayers are going up for you and everyone else involved. Bless you for your compassion and care for Gizmo and Irene.
why was such a vicious dog able to do that? Did the owner have him off the leash? Hopefully the owner was able to place a formal complaint as such a dog can also do that to a child or an adult!
Watching this reminds me of the day my Patterdale was playing with her friend when their game turned into ww3. My girl ended up needing emergency surgery on her neck. She had to have 250 stitches her throat and chest! The other dog was also damaged, but being a newfoundland, her damage was much less. After she got back to herself i noticed my girl was afraid of her old friend & other large dogs. It didn't surprise me. I was so thankful for all the promt action by my vets & their team. Without them I wouldn't have my girl today ❤ thank you for all that you do ❤❤❤❤❤
Good grief. I wouldn't be watching this if I was squeamish. I wish they wouldn't just blur out all the useful interesting bits. A warning at the beginning should suffice. Bravo Scott and team
Oh goodness I cried all the way through this one. Soo traumatic for Irene & Gizmo. Incredibly lovely to see that gorgeous little trooper living his best life on holiday in Devon at the end. How terrifying that there's a dog out there who inflicted this attack.
I rescued my little Pixie after my husband died suddenly in his sleep. I can’t imagine what I would do if something like this happened to her 😢😮😢 Thank you Dr Scott for helping Gizmo ❤❤❤
i'm glad that you rescue all sorts of animals in need. keep up the good work, and ignore all those negative nancies out there. You do a wonderful ob at what you do.
SO SORRY GIZMO 😢 UOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS WITH THE KIND AND PATIENT VET DR SCOTT 😢❤ Hope Gizmo recovers mentally 🙏 Please DONATE to help with the operation 😢😢😢😢 Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺 THINKING of you GIZMO and Dr SCOTT .... also Wonderful Staff and other vets , with Dr Scott ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wonder how the attack occurred. Were they walking and a larger, unleashed dog attacked? Does Gizmo have antibiotics and painkillers for home? Amazing care from Dr. Scott.
Well done Scott. For those of us that aren't squeamish, can you give the option of watching the whole surgery without being hazed out please. Love watching your videos. Kim from Victoria Australia.
Dr. Scott you are truly an animals angel, you go beyond what I have ever seen in a vet. You are a rare breed of vet and I hope that never changes. I wish you luck, health and happiness for being a friend to the animals that need you.
Imagine going through the shocking loss of her husband and then your loved little companion almost dies - and to see it happen. It’s amazing she’s gotten through this. I bet mum kept him incredibly close - sleeping with him for both their comfort. Thanks Scott - you have such compassion and talent. You are amazing! Hey! Little Gizmo, be happy, sweetie. It’s all over and you’re one brave little dog :) 🐶🌷🌱
Poor little Gizmo! But you saved him Dr Scott. I'd be the same as Irene - doesn't matter what he looks like, he's still little Gizmo - well done! Heart-warming to know there are people like you in this world!
Poor Gizmo I am sure Dr. Scott will fix you up right. Scott, I love that you are where you are back out in the countryside where you wanted to be. I am so enjoying your videos. God bless you and your family.
I'm so glad Gizmo is ok- poor little guy! Luckily Dr. Scott to the rescue! The whole time I kept thinking about the dog who perpetrated the attack and hope that in the least he's muzzled/leashed, etc. My chocolate lab got attacked while we were walking- her attacker was not on a leash 😑Hearing my dog is screeching in pain was horrifying! So I can totally empathize with Gizmo's mom. I actually ended up breaking my foot trying to protect my dog, was on a knee scooter for 10 months! I think our fur babies get over it much easier than we do.
What an amazing man for rescuing such a beautiful little doggy. Gizmo was a little fighter and I hope he's doing really well today. Bless you all, and Irene for being so strong.🇬🇧💖🐾🌞

Disc degeneration. I hate auto correct.

Exactly and he prob didnt pay either
Poor Giz. So bad he lost one ear, but he has a mum who loves him, and a great vet who takes such good care of him. So glad he survived.

Poor little thing. 😢
How sad, poor Gizmo. I cant imagine having to witness that. That's never a way we want our fur babies to go. probably why I have cats.
DR SCOTT I THINK YOUR AWESOME A D I LOVE YOU
That is my worse fair with my pomeranian, I only walk out in the country. Gizmo is a very lucky boy, awesome work.😊
The best of everything with your new channel. We have really enjoyed watching you throughout the years!
Such a wonderful story! ❤️❤️❤️. Dr. Scott is so extremely compassionate. ❤️❤️❤️
I always love your videos. You are such a caring man and vet.
HEY SCOTT I HAVE AUTISM TOO
So do my husband and I.
So do I. I do wish they wouldn’t blur things out.
Necrosis sets in quickly. Gizmo has a loving mother who will take good care of him. 🐶❤️

I’m in Canada & watch your videos. You are an AMAZING & SKILLED veterinarian. If all those animals could speak, you would get a HUGE thank you ❤❤❤

What an amazing man for rescuing such a beautiful little doggy. Gizmo was a little fighter and I hope he's doing really well today. Bless you all, and Irene for being so strong.🇬🇧💖🐾🌞
OMG .... poor baby😢😢😢
Thank you Dr Scott. You're one amazing vet. This fellow Aussie has been a fan for years. Love the new show.
What a great man ,what an exceptional vet !!! What a beautiful town , what is the name of this town ?

👋👋 from Midwest USA. Awesome job caring for people’s fury babes
i have not been able to watch this video for three days. forty years ago, my little dog was attacked by another dog. i witnessed the same shaken like a rag doll. many years and five dogs later, it still feels as if it was just yesterday. my dog was very lucky not to have this level of injury. i cried through the entire video. i am very happy that Gizmo and his companion are well and happy❤️

What a bright little dog! Thank you for saving him!
Poor gizmo, so glad u could save him ❤
Hey Scott, poor little guy 😢.
Thanks for fixing this nasty injury as best as possible ❤.
JO JO IN VT 🇺🇲💞
Was this little cutie off his lead. Poor thing. God love him. ❤

I couldn’t watch that. Just too distressing. 😢😢😢😢
I hope Gizmo recovers well. No one would blame him for not trusting other dogs after such a horrendus experience.
It would have been good to be able to see this surgery as the injury sounds like a unique challenge. Luckily I know of another vet channel on UA-cam showing uncensored surgeries.
Beautiful video and what a tough dog and owner, great work as always Dr. Scott! ❤
