The Moss Park area is easily considered one the most “dangerous” areas in Toronto, due to the countless stabbings from because of the high density violent homeless drug addicts, who might try to stab you, which results in Moss Park having one of the highest assault rates in the city. Oh and on top of that, shootings are pretty frequent in the area due to the amount of gangs that reside in the area, which resulted in Moss Park seeing 7 murders in the area giving it a homicide rate of 31.52 per 100,000 people in 2023.
Since everything is so expensive there it's always confused me about where the poor people live. Toronto is very strange because unlike Chicago (which I feel is a good city to compare it to) where the bad areas are super noticeable Toronto is way more low key as a visitor. I did get Chicago vibes when I was on Jane and Finch though and even thought to myself "oh hey I'm in a bad area!"
I remember working at the old Wellesley and Princess Margaret Hospitals back in the day and I would walk those streets every day during my breaks and back then it was super sketchy with rubbies, druggies, hookers......lots and lots of hookers roaming around. Sometimes there would be shootings near by and we were locked down. St. James Town complex was also shady back then. I haven't been in that area in 20 years. I wonder what the night walks would be like now.
Hey I recognize that face. Though now you have a beard, and your hair seems to be missing unlike before. But you know what else is missing? You still owe me 2 dollars, WHERE'S MY 2 DOLLARS!!

I would disagree. America has a stronger and richer middle class than Canada and always has. Your comment must be an exaggeration, but I understand your sentiment.
@@TurfToursCanada the US has a lot more poverty, and greater extremes in poverty conditions. This neighbourhood has nothing on the slums I've seen in the US in and around several major cities. The US has a strong middle class that's been eroding since the turn of the century, and there's far more people at the bottom.
Welsley, Church, Sherbourne, that whole area of blocks is completely grimey I did deliveries in that area for years. Fun fact Kenny Vs Spenny was filmed very close to where your video started. 288 Sherbourne.

It's pretty similar to some area's I've seen in the United States. Especially George Street and the Moss Park housing projects, not as bad as what I saw, but certainly not Disneyland.

Poor people rent and live in subsidized housing. They don't typically own those houses, they rent from them.
@@TurfToursCanada but rents are so absurd how do they afford them?

The houses shown there are still over a million
The owners do not live there, however. They are either slum lords or low income rentals.
I would not live there if I was offered a million.

It's very well known as one of the worst neighborhoods in Toronto. It's not commonly disputed.
The houses are gutted with land lords running multiple illegal rental rooms in each house. City has a shortage on housing so they look the other way.
