    The sax riff is iconic. And it’s crazy it popped in his head on a bus when he was 17. God given talent.

    It's not a good 80's bop without the sax Empress... Lol. This is one of my fav songs from him.

    The fact you're picking up 'guilty feet have got no rhythm' decades later is class. It's the most classic line in pop ever!!

    It would be hard to find anybody who didn't love this song in the 80's...we were all here for it! I remember this being a slow jam they always played just before the club closed...

    This was their Third Number One Hit in America but it really represented a major "Change" in The Group. Although Andrew Ridgeley Co Wrote It, to many folks it was the dawning of George's burgeoning Solo Career. In North America it was released as "Wham Featuring George Michael" but in The UK it was Released as a Solo Single, even then you knew that George was going to go on his own as a Solo Star. Andrew was also in the same boat that John Oates of Hall & Oates has been in in the sense that many folks looked at Andrew as The Man who rode on George's Coattails. Nothing was further from the truth because growing up Andrew was Mr. Popularity as Teenagers while George was in his Awkward Phase. Also it was Andrew's idea they start a Group. Since 1984 it is one of the biggest hit songs of the past 37 Years. Somewhere it's being played especially on Easy Listening Stations. It is next to Every Breath You Take and Nothing Compares 2U as some of the biggest songs to debut in the 1980's.

    Yeah but this is THE sax of the 80s. Also George write this song when he was 17 years old… 17! Such a perfectly structured pop ballad. He admitted that when he wrote it he had no idea about love and romance and that kind of betrayal, but man you wouldn’t know it to listen. Huge talent.
    Guilty feet have got no rhythm ✨🎷✨

    George Michael was wonderful, with a bunch of fantastic, amazing music.
    P.S. 80s saxophone is one of my favorite things in the whole Universe.

    Oh that is when we all fell in love with George and his guilty feet. Speaking for myself, I have loved everything he did after CW. I agree with others that you should watch A Different Corner as your next GM song. However, I would check out his live version of the song on the Parkinson Show. It is pure perfection. Thanks for the reaction and keep the GM and/or Wham reactions coming.

    This version was the radio edit, because the original version have a running time of seven minutes. THe opening was cut for the released in radios . I heard the complete version in radios when i was young and the debut was so smooth and calm. In fact, the first verse in lyrics and vocal of the original version was the same of the second verse used on radios. It's was a masterpiece and also a touching ballad of this duet. I heard when i was young and like this song.

    George Michael was genius gifted singer and he reached the same MEGA STARDOM as Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Whitney Houston he is in the same realm.
    I realised it big time during the 1989 MTV Music Awards Show when Madonna stood next to him and was kinda in awe of him.
    Please react to his LIVE PERFORMANCE at Wembley Arena 1991
    Killer/Papa Was A Rolling Stone.
    His vocals are just hypnotising!!!
    The song was later released as a single in 1993 and became a huge hit!!!

    This was written by Andrew and a George and was on a Wham album so I never got why it’s a solo George track. It’s pre his debut solo album Faith which had I Want Your Sex. George really needs a full Madonna style journey from you he’s that good 😂

    • @lamusiclover2264
      @lamusiclover2264 3 роки тому +4

      It's also a solo video because Andrew doesn't do anything.

    • @danielhennessey4282

      @@lamusiclover2264 I meant why is it credited as a solo GM track instead of Wham when Andrew wrote it and it’s from a Wham album. Andrew was never prominent on any wham songs.

    • @veddyveddygood
      @veddyveddygood 3 роки тому +3

      @@danielhennessey4282 yeah kinda strange when CW was one of the very very few songs he co-wrote with GM. 95% of their songs was written by GM alone.

      Andrew says he wrote the minor-chord based progression for Careless Whisper while George wrote the lyrics when they were 17, although George said he came up with the sax riff when he was getting on a bus. Then in 1983, George recorded Careless Whisper with a producer in LA but didn't like the result, came back to London and re-record the song and produced the whole thing himself. That was the version that was released in 1984.

    • @lamusiclover2264
      @lamusiclover2264 3 роки тому +3

      @@danielhennessey4282 I know what you meant. But it should be credited as a solo track because it is. It is being sung solo, with only George in the video. Just because someone co-wrote a song doesn't change the fact that it is performed solo. Andrew really didn't do much of anything in reality. He gets a co-writing credit and that's all he deserves.

    I can not believe you never heard this song before,...OMG!!!!! This is voted as best song ever by the BBC Radio. It is a classic masterpiece. The sax solo is voted most recognised most iconic sax performance in a song ever. There is a nice version of George and Smokey Robinson singin this song together. I am so glad you heard this song. I really thought this song was known to you. You just listened to a masterpiece. I was 11 yearold when this came out, we were in the south of France on Holiday and I played this non-stop on my walkman. So this song is linked to the Cote D'azur in france to me.( to make it even more iconic) . I think from now on you will suddenly hear this everywere you are, in background music in shopping malls etc etc.
