- Babolat Pure Aero 2023 Racquet Unboxing Review and First Impressions. We got our hands on the Babolat 2023 Aero thats used by Rafael Nadal (own paint) and Carlos Alcaraz (VS Version). In this tennis racket review of the 2023 Pure Aero we will look at the design, features and technology as well as updates from previous version of this modern frame. What do you think about it?

What do you think about the new Babolat Pure Aero 2023?
I love it. Easy access to spin and great on kick serves, one-handed topspin backhand, everything really. I am now able to hit kick serves that bounce over the racquet of my opponents on the backhand side.
I switched from the Pro Staff RF 97 to the Pure Aero 98 2023 back in March of this year and haven't regretted it!
Both great racquets! How does it compare to the RF97?
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 is great on slice serves, powerful forehands, slice and flat serves. Had trouble when my opponents hit with pace on my backhand side esp high bouncing balls on the backhand side and when on the run hitting topspin forehands. Started getting arm pain when hitting one-handed topspin backhands with the Pro Staff against big hitters. The Pure Aero 98 is so easy to use, hit heavy topsin shots off both wings, easily change and mix up the flight path of my balls even on the run. The Pure Aero 98 is great in kick serves, too. I almost feel like its cheating its so easy to use. Roger Federer said at Wimbledon that the Pro Staff is not ideal for playing on clay, and I agree. I use RPM Rough 24 kg/23 kg
@@hanseat7950 Yeah I found the Pro Staff RF to be very unforgiving and quite stiff, I wouldn't get nearly as much power and spin as with the Aero, it did feel great at the net though and on the slice
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial my sentiments exactly. Footwork has to always be on point with the Pro Staff and its very unforgiving. I wasn't getting as much spin on my kick serves and forehands and backhands with the Pro Staff.
Great review....Do you think speed pro n extreme tour are similar interms of precision and stability and I heard extreme is not stable for heavy balls...what is your thoughts on this?and how would you compare those with this one pa23 interms of precision?

Hi Alex!!! I've been playing with pure aero 2023 for 3 months and I love it!!! the tighter pattern is a success, I want to ask you, I am an aggressive baseline player, do you recommend me... the wilson blade 98 or this pure aero 2023 ring 100, thanks!!
I've opted for the pure aero rafa (290g) as I wanted a stiffer frame, and a more open string pattern and I was happy to add some weight to the handle to dampen the racket a little. Though I'm not a fan of the pink-themed paint job. I'll be interested to see if you would make a comparison between the 2 aeros at some point in the near future
Denser stringbed is for more control. Open stringbeds for more spin.
Exactly! This seems a strange decision to make a spin racquet more of a control racquet I felt…
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficialthe previous one string breaks too fast, it’s going back to the way it was before.
@@jonathanchen1026 thats for sure, because of that open string pattern, especially when you play on clay!
Hi Alex..do brand new rackets there in UK always come with a box? Because all the rackets that I've bought did not come with a box..just a simple synthetic leather cover only..
Hi no that racquet was part of their promo campaign that why it came with the box, usually just the synthetic cover 👍

What’s your take on pure aero 98 vs pure aero?
Actually found the 98 alittle more unforgiving. What are your thoughts?

I tried the pure aero 98 and I was shanking my serve for a while. Now I switched back to the normal aero and its better now. Also the 98 has less power
When is the review coming?
I’ve been testing this new pure aero 98. I don’t like it. I feel like this is holow. I don’t feel to much control. I prefer Medvedev’s Tecnifibre

Was waiting to find this comment. I switched from 2016 pure drive to the 2023 pure aero about a month ago. I strung both with solinco tour bite at 55 lbs.
I absolutely loved my play with the 2023 pure aero and noticed more spin and balls dropping in deep (some that land a foot or so out with my PD). HOWEVER, towards the end of matches I felt tension in the elbow and shoulder. I typically play 2-3 times a week at USTA 4.5 level. I didn’t have these issues for the last several years with my pure drives. I sent back the pure aero 2023 (luckily tennis point accepted for store credit), it was a no brainer as the elbow pain did not seem worth the risk.
My stringer mentioned that pure aero is known as a stiffer racquet compared to the pure drive version I have. He noted the new pure drive is even better on the arm. I believe my arm just wasn’t ready for the switch to pure aero.
Just my 2 cents! I know this racquet will be great for some and wish it didn’t come with the arm pain for me.
@@wolfpacknation69Well that’s a very high tension, especially if you used a poly string. The trend in tennis (even on ATP Tour) is to string much lower because of arm issues and more power, spin and forgiveness
@@Tennis214 the recommended tension is 50-59 lbs, so I’m right in the middle of the recommended amount. Last time I experimented with lower tensions I lost significant control and balls sailed, so there is that downside to lowering tension
@@wolfpacknation69 The recommended tension is very general and doesn’t specify what type of string. For a polyester string, mid to high 50’s is very stiff. That kind of setup is becoming increasingly rare on the pro tour for that very reason
