I'm socked at the thought of what he said: "Some of the things that you think will make you happy simply won't, and some of the things that you avoid sometimes will make you happy". Well, something like that. :D
The interviewer does a great job of keeping him engaged, but never interrupting him etc. Solid, simple questions for him, which lead to well-crafted responses. You can tell Moby was into this interview.
The most exciting person in the room is often the one who doesn't look like they belong there. I read this enjoyable memoir, and that's what it was. I love when people do that.
I was on the early rave seen during the time Moby is talking about in he UK. Hes right. It was purely magical. We knew that we were all on to a huge change in music. It was so underground and like the biggest special secret ever. (Love) Doves weren't called Love Doves for any old reason. Beautiful memories. Then in the early to middle 1990's changed and it became quite heavy.
He would have never made his massively successful albums without going through the process of making Animal Rights as well I think so it goes back to what he said about turning those dark moments into some of the best. People may have hated it initially but it's importance to his life and career as an artist is essential.
That Story of gentrification in citys could be told around the world! We hang out as kids in squated houses here in Dresden Neustadt, Germany, too. There was such a sweet comunity and the streets was just dirty, full of open places and so beutiful. But now its like, where to go?The rents are goung so high now that its getting harder and harder to life here, not to talk about places where we can meet like bars or clubs. And instead of a neighborhood full of artists, musicians, students and visionins we now just see more and more lawyers, businesspeople, tourists, Mecedises and rich people in the streets! I wished we would have fighted much harder for our comunity... SO if you still live in a place that is still like this somewhere in the world: Fight for it with all you have! If not, you will shure end up like New York, Dresden, Berlin or all the thousends of other citys around the world! But I'm afraid that sad story goes on and on...
One of the funniesy things I've ever seen, is the video of Johnny Fayva performing "Whole Lotta' Love" onstage with Moby, and tossing his shirt right over Moby's face, whenever he was stripping-down onstage. >X-D
Too bad he lost his faith... I'm his age and I don't see it that way, he just takes everything to the extreme, and I wouldn't be surprised to see he finds his way back to it...... And I'm not here to push anything, just my personal reflection
drugs make the music experience better?... wow. who knew? hahaha. seriously whatever the Proustian ghost is on during this interview i want in😊 God Bless the CBC
Jack Greendal if I recall that is an Eminem quote from the early 2000s. Moby only made like 2 techno albums... some of those songs weren't even techno.
was a fan but i learnt he is not a nice person at all,he needs to pratice what he preaches , hes very judgemental and insults his fans , he is not a nice person ,. loved his music and that he vegan but he really is not a nice person ,any abusive comments will be blocked.
the boss it's true. Many people with opposing opinions are seen as 'intolerable' today, especially to people like Moby. Unfortunate because his music was always good.
Α smart and polite host, brief questions to the point and does not interrupt his guest.
A rare sight.
Well done, sir.
more like it just seemed the host was interested. that's it takes sometimes.
Agree. What an interviewer!
Agree! Great interviewer!
very rare you come across great interviewers, ask the right questions, let the artist talk. nice one.
Whenever I need guidance in life I watch a Moby interview. Bless this man.
I named my cat after moby back in the 90's because my cat loved his music. no joke.
+KlipKultur5
I do to.
Did your cat also like (to tip over) porcelain?
I love how he starts every answer with "hmm". Great interview. One wants to learn more about Moby's life.
One of the most magical songs of all time
I'm socked at the thought of what he said: "Some of the things that you think will make you happy simply won't, and some of the things that you avoid sometimes will make you happy". Well, something like that. :D
As always with q, a wonderfully interesting interview. Love listening to Moby talk about stuff but especially his own life. Thanks!
really good and interesting interview
The interviewer does a great job of keeping him engaged, but never interrupting him etc. Solid, simple questions for him, which lead to well-crafted responses.
You can tell Moby was into this interview.
I enjoyed this book. An original.
Moby is such a great talker. I love hearing his spin on the world.
You are right, he is very well-spoken!
"Some times what you don't want is the thing that's going to deliver the most well-being" this really makes sense to me. Thanks Moby
The host is great. One of the best interviews I’ve heard

Outstanding interview on both sides!
Great interview. Much credit to you Shadrach Kabango

hmmm so New Zealand (where I live) is an example of "as far away as possible!"

Interesting interview, ironically animal rights is one of my favorite moby records, I just love the honesty of that record!
He would have never made his massively successful albums without going through the process of making Animal Rights as well I think so it goes back to what he said about turning those dark moments into some of the best. Excellent interview

Inspiring piece of human being.
what are those weird red sparkles that pops up in Moby's glasses?
Mobys a demon
Nice interview....respect. Subbed.
Too bad he lost his faith... I'm his age and I don't see it that way, he just takes everything to the extreme, and I wouldn't be surprised to see he finds his way back to it...... And I'm not here to push anything, just my personal reflection
Great book. Read it over Christmas.
Love you Moby!!
He’s got a lisp in this video and his teeth look different to how they did in his Ted talk, can someone explain please
A great interviewer.
Everyone else: “I’ll never be a multi million selling creative music artist / athlete / rocket scientist / president “
Moby “I’ll never be president “
Wow Now I'm in Moby.
Love Moby
It's funny, when you're sober and everyone is drunk or high or whatever, it makes you feel super-sober. Sober-er, if you will!
I enjoyed the Animal Rights Album.
Thanks Moby
drugs make the music experience better?...

happy 52th birthday richard melville hall !!!!
no idea he was teaching bible study nor he was Christian. woowwwwww I'm a fan but in a fan moreeeee . I thought he was an atheist. I assumed stupidly
if you listened to Natural Blues, you would know he is of religious nature. Listen to the lyrics ;)
Mark Christopher yeah but he's a hard lefty ;)
i do know, your'e not old let go, it's not over, everybody listen to techno...
YOU
Richard Melville Hall for president!
is anyone still listening to techno anymore?
Yes, actually. Most of pop music is dominated by EDM right now.
Jack Greendal I used to be a technomaniac, but recently prefer downtempo or deep house. Still occasionally listen to Aphex Twin.
Jack Greendal if I recall that is an Eminem quote from the early 2000s. Moby only made like 2 techno albums... some of those songs weren't even techno.
Moby sounds weak.
was a fan but i learnt he is not a nice person at all,he needs to pratice what he preaches , hes very judgemental and insults his fans , he is not a nice person ,. loved his music and that he vegan but he really is not a nice person ,any abusive comments will be blocked.
Why do you think so?
the boss it's true. Many people with opposing opinions are seen as 'intolerable' today, especially to people like Moby. Unfortunate because his music was always good.
Always cringe when somebody says “It’s an interesting question”
