Now THIS is a review! This is a very thorough review. It sounds like it works perfect for you. That must be a great seat. Nothing else matters much if the seat is miserable after an hour.
You are absolutely right, if my butt and back start hurting after 2 or 3 hrs then my day is cut short ... gotta be comfortable thanks for watching much appreciated
Thanks for the feedback, I still have mine and still love it for lakes ponds and slow moving water lol 😆 the river scares me a little but I. Getting better
Gonna Say you made the right choice there. I've had my Bonafide SS-127 for two years and its an absolute pig to paddle. Got got a decent chunk of money knocked down on it from a Gander Mountain flash sale, but here I am two years later looking at the Sea Ghost. I hated paddling the Bonafide so much I set up a trolling motor on it and ever since then its been a decent boat out on the water, but the frequency I got out dropped probably over half, as no more quick after work trips or morning fishing trips because it was such a process to get it all set up to hit the water and then taken down. This past year I only time I made it out a couple of times. Thanks for the Info!
Nice review BIG-D!! After a 100 + hours the Yak is still performing as you would Xpect & is still in Xcellent shape which shows you've been taking care of the Yak!!
Very good review with a lot of viewpoints from many different angles giving an in-depth perspective that is often lacking. This review actually 100% convinced me to go with the 2019 Vibe Sea Ghost. I was considering the Bonafide one you showed early in the video but just like you I like to work within the budget as it allows me to have more mods to tailor to my fishing experience. Once again, thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching much appreciated, I'm glad it helped you I'm loving my sea ghost 130 , does awesome on ponds lakes , rivers are a little more sketchy but I'm still learning lol
I think that this yak would be a great choice for me. I'm 6'5" tall and weigh 370. I plan to use it as a camping kayak as well as to fish from. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this kayak.
I use a Jackson Coosa HD for the last 2 years, this looks like a great yak too...Glad to watch and support a awesome channel....posted a few new vids myself
Thanks for watching much appreciated, I looked at the coosa also I'm a big guy 6' tall and 360 pounds it was hard to find a large and stable yak Especially at 1k$
That's a nice yak BIG-D. Lots of features. I think you might be a little confused on that side bungie @12:30 though. I believe that's supposed to be your paddle keeps. I have them on my Hobie Outback too. Should be one on both sides of the yak. Real nice for keeping your paddle out of the way while you're anchored down and fishing if you do any anchor fishing. Doesn't help a lot if you're constantly paddling and casting like with bass fishing though. Probably just as well off leaving the paddle lie across your lap in that case.
Fishing_With_BIG-D yea man I saw the title and had to come check it out since I have the same kayak lol. Smaller 110 but still had to see what you had to say. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Big-D! I'm 6'5" and 320 lbs and looking for a reasonably priced paddler. There are two or three I was looking at, but the Vibe Sea Ghost 130 has a better price point. The savings will pay for the PFD and a nice paddle. You put this video out a year ago. Still like it? Upgrade to something else yet?
Glad I could help! and sorry I just saw your message but yes I still have my Yak and I still love it .. as of today I still dont see a better valued yak all-though I'd love to find a pedal driven yak that accommodates for larger guys everyone Ive tried has me feeling like my knees are in my chest lol.... My only complaint is that I still have trouble in the rivers , but it could just be me I get nervous and shaky when I get in shallow water and get hung up sometimes ... but most people say they do too
Nice!! I would’ve picked it just for the color lol!! Little B sure was quite during the video. She could definitely be the next Vanna White. Be careful out there
Thanks man for watching much appreciated, the better the seat the more comfortable you can fish and not let other things bother you giving you full focus on the fish
How much water do you get in the deck when you have the scuppers out? Does it drain well when you paddle? Thanks, and great review. I just bought my 130 today cannot wait to try it out.
@@FishingWithBIGD Sweet thanks for the reply, I am 6'4" 350 and I sure hope it works out for me, as good as it has for you. Just started watching your videos, and your doing a great job keep it up!!
Thanks for the video. Subbed your channel. I'm about your size and currently have a Jackson Big Tuna. I have been seriously looking at the the Sea Ghost 130. I like my Tuna, but it's designed to be a tandem kayak. It can be used solo, but things are not positioned as well when in the solo seating position. My wife has a yellowfin 100, and loves it. I saw in your other video you were concerned about the stability. Was wondering how comfortable you feel in it now after some seat time.
Thanks man for watching, I'm doing real well with it now I've learned a lot and I'm a better kayaker now, I'm 350 lbs and 6 feet tall the 130 has a 500 pound gross limit and holds me well it's long at 13 ft but narrow enough to still have speed .. it's still a little wobbly to me but only when im trying to reach stuff out the back, I've learned to set my gear up certain ways and areas to maximize my comfort, over it was a great investment under 1k only complaint is the center console for me I think I'd like the open floor plan better but I also like that console space
Great review! I am looking to get my first kayak, I don't know much about them but learning quick. I will do a little fishing, but mainly I'm looking for a kayak for camping. I was originally thinking about the nucanoe frontier 12. However this could save me $500 or more. Between the sea ghost and the frontier which would make a better kayak for camping?
Thanks for watching much appreciated and great question, I guess it really depends on a bunch of factors My decision was based on three factors 1. Weight capacity, cause I'm a big guy 2. Stability and width and comfort 3. Cost The nucanoe has better stability and deeper hull for more storage , I think they both boast 550lb compacitiy or more And both have a ton of features and comfortable seats and leg room So I'd narrow it down to price and hauling camping gear which is more important to you

Hi, so I'm a big guy too...i always had problem with grabbing things from behind me...how hard or easy is it to reach behind you to grab things out your milk crate? Also the side storage by the seat, will it fit plano tackle boxes?
Hello and thanks for watching much appreciated, I keep two planno plastic cases with me while fishing , they fit by your side in the molded slots pretty good, they are a little tight if your a big guy like me ... they also have a bungee rope to hold in place in case you flip As for the crate it's a little tough to reach and can make you feel wobbly I built mine so that the rob holders are directly behind me and with some practice I've gotten removing and replacing the rods downpat... but I use the rod holders built into the yak more than the crate , it holds them at a slanted angle and works real good
Still doing great the seat and handles and the hull all are in great shape still I recently took it on a rough stretch of river and had a heck of a time ... but it withstood the hard hits and rough water very well ... I still love it and it works great on calm lakes I'm still at 360 lbs you should be fine
