    Before the Rush critique, I didn't know Pitchfork.
    Then I got an idea of who they are by looking at what they like.
    They gave, for example, 8.4 for Best New Album to South Korean Parannoul's After the Magic and labeled it rock.
    If these are their tastes it is obvious that they do not like Maneskin.
    The fundamental point is that I don't need the opinion of a snooty journalist to make me like something.
    I will continue to love Maneskin and their music.
    Every time I listen to Rush, I can't sit still. Because it's a great rock album.

    Pretty sure the first guitar solo is Thomas Raggi, while the 2nd one is Tom Morello.

    Yeah I think we've all seen that review from Pitchfork. They've tweetted a link to it like five or ten times (shows how desperate they are to use Måneskin for clickbait ;-) )
    One thing I've realized looking at their previous reviews of rock songs, is that a negative review from Pitchfork, is the biggest possible compliment you can get as a rockband. Since it means you're real rock.

    Yeah hahahaha Pitchfork is obsessed with them at the moment, stan behavior, is becoming funny tbh
    Their album is awesome, and Måneskin are self ironic and self aware, but some of the critics take them really seriously lol or probably just enjoy the buzz.
    Meanwhile Tom Morello had noticeably a lot of fun playing with them here and there and keeps talking about how good they are 😌
    Their best lyrics are in Italian for the reason you said, but there are a lot of layers also in their English songs, they just don't like to explain themselves and like to troll the audience so ppl need to find out on their own. I think at them as a band of nerds for nerds, disguised as glam hot ppl lol

      If you want to take a look at their range, i suggest Gasoline, Kool Kids and Il Dono Della Vita, from the new album. They have great ballads in Italian and especially like to be silly in English, cause as the singer (the lyricist) said, he feels more free writing cringe lyrics in English since is a second language and he wouldn't write the same things in Italian lol
      As a person that isn't an English mother tongue, I think is relatable lol

      I think Rush is overproduced and oversimplified- it still sounds great live though. But one thing I don't get is how some people don't get the irony. They're sarcastic to the core and then some people take it at face value. It's really weird.

    Torna a casa with 163 mio. views.
    They are less American sounding. Peace.

    Pitchfork giving this album a 2, shows they know nothing about Rock.
    The album is not perfect, a little long and disjointed, with a couple experiments that were interesting, if not groundbreaking, and a couple “meh” numbers. There are some very good songs, and a lot of solid songs. Compared to the competition this is an 8 out of ten, if not more. Their last album was a solid 10, and it’s hard to top something like that.
    I will also say, having seen them live last winter, as well as watching several recorded live performances, is that they(unlike a lot of acts) are even better on stage, than in the studio.

    Why do you think that "so called" music critic from Pitchfork was so harsh? Is USA's music establishment so scared of Måneskin because they are outside the control of the anglosaxon world? I am curious why a "so called" critic is so evidently biased

    • @liliaeth
      @liliaeth Рік тому +6

      Clickbait.
      Pitchfork, based on their reviews, already doesn't like rock.
      But when you give a negative review ( esp one like that) of a popular but polarising band, you get clicks from both fans and haters, which is all they really care about.

      @ShaqPlaque Рік тому +2

      There's artists that Pitchfork will trash viciously on a regular basis because they just don't like the approach the artists take to music. Read some of their reviews for The Mars Volta - a popular eclectic prog bands of the 00's.
