This is a part of a gig they did in Koln, Germany, a couple of days ago. I watched the whole performance, Damiano's vocals are insane! And, of course, the instrumentals are raw and beautiful, as usual.
Regarding his accent: they wrote this album while living in London for a few months and attending lots of concerts there. They said the London rock scene influenced them greatly and I think probably his accent too. Speaking he has an Italian accent.
It definitely has a very classic UK grunge rock feel! I love their sound and I'm super excited to check out more of their stuff! Wish I had more screens so I could pull up the lyrics while I'm watching the songs in Italian and I might actually check out a couple of their interviews soon.. thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment 🙏
Sid Farmer I LOVE your reaction of Maneskin! ❤️ LOVING 💞Hallo I'm a French girl and I love Maneskin! Yes, Maneskin are a ITALIEN Band from ROME! And Damiano is the frontman and Write yours songs and his's the BEST Voice of Europe at the moment. They were in EUROPE NOW for their promotional tour! On the Europe's people Damiano is a very CRAZY and passional feeling! Damiano it's a Spirit of the scene! THANKS for this video. Moore Maneskin!
Hello Sid thanks for this good reaction. You are very smart Actually after they recorded their album IL BALLO DELLA VITA they moved to England for a little less than a year to look for new inspiration, so I am pretty sure that Damiano took this opportunity to improve his English and get the beautiful British accent
Thanks so much for leaving a comment! You're too kind 🙏 Appreciate all the info, it's nice finding out about this group from their fans as I check out each new song ✌️
Sorry for the double comment, but Harry is actually one of their inspirations! They actually cover Kiwi a lot in their concerts, they also covered bury a friend in Belgium yesterday. (They are currently touring I believe)
Thanks for the info! There's so much to learn about this group and so many influences, covers and performances people have shared in the comments! I have a feeling I might end up making hundreds of reactions to their entire career 😂✌️
@@SidJFarmer It's exactly the same as many other reactioners. There are some who reacted to any song, video, interview, concert, reaction of a reaction, etc. It's practically 3 months, from Eurovision Song Contest, that UA-cam is booming with hundreds of videos a day dedicated to Måneskin. I believe that combining all the views on their videos, concerts, reactions, etc. we easily reach 1 billion views.
Your reaction was great and thanks for your comments and thoughts. Each time I listen to a reaction of a Maneskin song it makes me feel better to know I’m not going insane because everyone else seems to be thinking the same way I am…..these guys are incredible and Damiano’s voice is so soothing, you want to just keep listening to him sing over and over. I haven’t enjoyed listening to a rock band like this since the 70’s, honestly. I know I’m pretty old, but, listening to Maneskin makes me feel young again.:)
I never thought of the Pete Doherty comparison for Damiano before but I definitely see it now. I definitely hear a 70s punk inflection in his delivery of the English lyrics too which I love.
The more I listen the more I hear it 😂 I used to listen to The Libertines and Babyshambles every day when I was younger.. Pete's voice is so unique but so is this guy's and the punk energy really shines through in the songs I've heard so far 🤘
@@SidJFarmer totally agree, I was a big Libertines fan back in the day and something about Måneskin has the same energy and spontaneity that I enjoyed in all the early 00s rock coming out of the UK but they seem to have so many facets to their talent to discover. Enjoying your reactions a lot! Please keep them coming 🤟
You should watch the videos of their concert yesterday in Belgium, on their insta... insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I've never lived in the 70s crazy rock era but now I can say I understand the feeling lol
Nice, Sid. It's really nice to see someone who is struck by the same lightning that struck those who saw them at their first audition at X Factor Italy in 2017. When they were 15 to 17 years old.
Ciao from Italy! Who said that rock is not popular in Italy? If you don't know him, listen to Vasco Rossi " C'è chi dice no" ("There are those who say no") from Live Modena Park 2017. He has the record for the concert with the highest number of paying spectators (225,000) in the world. Vasco is a divinity in Italy ... 😉
i haven't liked a band this much since those bands from the early-mid 2000's you speak of, the libertines, babyshambles, the rakes, special needs, the paddingtons, the cribs, etc. makes me wanna cry
Damiano manages to sing in the same way in both Italian and English. He also manages to rap perfectly in English! To get an idea of this I suggest you listen to the Beggin cover in the full version ..... it's spectacular !!
I've added all three to my list and will try and film reactions when I get the chance!! There have been so many suggestions it might take a little while but as long as people enjoy these reactions I'll keep checking out more of their music and performances ✌️
I love this song and this performance, and I' m so happy and proud you like it....I think all things you say about them....also Damiano' s english, the way he sing, their presence on stage...I suggest you to see and listen their live in Belgium of last days...
If you want to see their pure Italian rock energy you should watch their performance of In Nome del Padre also at 1 Live. But then if you want to see a completely different side to them you should check out their acoustic performance of Torna a Casa (the music video is also very good). I recommend looking up the lyric translations for both afterwards but the performances carry themselves even without the meaning of the lyrics- the lyrics just improve them even further. Oh, also, if you're looking for a good interview to check out you should consider the Nikkie Tutorials 'Doing Maneskin's make up' one. Has a lot of Damiano speaking but it's also a post eurovision interview because Nikkie hosted eurovision this year.
Gosh, I love this song. Others of theirs are more popular, but this is really a showcase of ability, as well as a panoramic over indie rock, as you said. And it's so heartfelt, too.
Thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏 glad you enjoyed!! More Måneskin reactions coming real soon.. people seem to like them so I'm planning to check out a whole bunch more of their music and live performances 🔥🤘
What a combination of voice and music. Damian to an absurd voice control. Victoria with the bass breaks, Thomas with the guitar an ecstasy and Ethan blends everything exulting a single name Muneskin.
their english is pretty good. Victoria De Angelis (bass) speaks very fluently) , Damiano also, while Ethan and Thomas are catching pretty good ( they were respectively in years 1999, 2000 and 2001.
Their interviews are so much fun to watch you should definitely watch one and react to it I just linked interview where they speak English but their accents are very strong and my other comment
In Italy there was and there's a lot of music rock from PFM in the '70 (the drummer was called for LED zeppelin) that was also in USA and Canada, to Maneskin today throu so many many many bands like litfiba, afterhours...it's not just opera, it's not just melodico, Italy is MUSICA. About Vasco Rossi, written in other comment: the Rolling Stones asked him for opening the concert in Rome but he said no.
Really glad you compared his vocal in this to Peter Doherty, Libertines is one of my favorite bands. I've read the English that's taught in Italian schools is British, so maybe that explains the accent?
Regarding Damiano's "English" singing sound. Yes. It's very English from England (you are correct, because when Italians learn the English language in school they are learning it from the (England - English) not American or Canadian English...so very well done there! Also Maneskin loves Harry Styles!
Hi, they lives in London For a long time, because Maneskin are Amazing and also very intelligent... Listen also Are you ready, an english raggae Song by Maneskin and covers let's get It started and Black Skinhead tic toc version, really Amazing...
It is funny how everyone always is so surprised they sound so english while for me it makes perfect sense. I started studying english from thirth grade and we learn british english. I image it is same in Italy. It is just mandatory in many countries to learn english and in europe it often is brithis way of pronouncing. 😂 Love your reactions!
Have you heard how Italians sound when speaking English?!? I have many Italian academically educated co-workers and when they speak English you can tell they are Italian! They also have specific way of ending the word…So yes, Damiano’s English is very non-Italian…
@@SandySuzie well, like I said, it isn't surprising for me, specially consedring the time they spend in London. Time I spend working in US shaped my accent more torwards American accent. So yeah, not surprising at all.
Mmm, I can see why they say that. These kids in particular have been in England and have been able to consume English media since a young age, but just some 10 years ago Italian kids didn't speak English that way. We didn't have Netflix and the Italian school system had the original sin of teaching every language like it was Latin - lots of grammar, zero conversation. It works best for languages like French, but the stereotype used to hold some truth. Things are changing of course.
