Thank you for the thought provoking video! Love allows us to empathise with those that hurt us. Usually it's misguided intentions that cause the hurt. Our parents are a product of their parents and society. They sail within the comfort of conformity and to deviate from that course is to recognise the hurt they have inflicted on the most precious monument to their existence, their child. So most parents do the comfortable thing and blame their child, rather than steer off the comfy course into the greatest storm of regret. My advice to people is that if someone hurts you, don't pretend they didn't, but if they recognise that they did, they're genuinely sorry and trying to change, recognise that fact. Resentment may pressure you to avoid recognition of that fact to punish them for the hurt they inflicted. Resentment can trap you into punishing people for doing the right thing and trying to change, that's why love and empathy ultimately need to rule.
