Great video! I shot my first buck ever yesterday in a tree climber about 15 yards from a scrape here in South Carolina. As a first year hunter, this information is so helpful.
So cool!! Congratulations! I'm glad it is helpful 🙂
This vid is great IMO! It ties beginner/basics into proven/advanced approaches. Nice job & thank you!
Thank you!!
Love this channel!! Finally, a channel that talks about Mid Michigan im in mid Michigan/ thumb. Great video. I love the content you guys put out!!
Thanks Jason! We're in Montcalm county. Good luck!
A lot of good information here! Nice B roll
B roll is key!
Great video n summary .. Truly enjoyed the Buck scrape videos .. waiting for a temperature drop here in Pennsylvania.. was 79 degrees today ! Ugggh lol !!Continued Success 😎🇺🇸
You should be getting one soon! !
Great video! I learned that the bucks definitely use the wind to check doe bedding areas. Perfect time to hunt edges of thickets and hardwoods.
you got it!!
Alot of great tips. Cant wait to get out here this comming wkend in ohio. Nice front moving in thursday the 24th
good luck this weekend! Hope you see one of those big ohio bucks!
@@whitetailevolution ive got a few im after
Just found your channel. Great info. I also live in Michigan. (Lansing) I hunt Dansville state game area. Look forward to more great videos.
Thank you sir! We're near Greenville and hunt a few other counties as well. Good luck this season!
Excellent video!!
thanks! good luck when you get out!
Love the channel, thank you! I have property in Iosco County that borders state land, Thursday and Friday morning's cold front looking great for a hunt! Good luck all!
Thank you! Good luck this week! Like you said, should be good with the cold front coming through!
I need all the luck I can get. I’m on my 2nd year hunting and still haven’t successfully harvested a deer. I’ve almost lost all faith in myself as a deer hunter. I’ll never quit because I really enjoy it but I suck.
Outstanding video thanks for all the great information. 👍 🫡 🤜🤛
thank you sir! Good luck out there!
Awesome video!
thanks 🙂
5:20 into bucks make rubs along the paths they take. you can follow rubs like a straight line if you find is scrape line.
thanks for the tips!
Pretty rut in okla is now. Does will start cycling in a week or 2 the most. Yes main rut is about thanksgiving but does start cycling last week to end of January. I actually have a august born set of fawns this year. Means she was breed around the first week of February
thanks for sharing! Good luck!
Thanks😊
any time!
Good stuff and I appreciate the information. In my area, the big woods and foothills of the Ozarks, rope or grape vine licking limbs are a waste of time. I've attempted to use the for years. Also, and I am out a lot in the spring, I don't see scrapes being hit all year. I'm not taking issue with your information. I do wonder if things are different regionally. Deer bed any and everywhere here...even in open woods that are secluded. I know many places to find bedded deer but I don't know anywhere to consistently find bedded does. Terrain features seem to be the best pre and rut places to set up here. Again, thanks.
Maybe try to use a licking branch that you see the deer using naturally. Here in michigan that would be grape vines, oaks, basswoods and beech trees. There are others but those are the top licking branches for sure. Having a mock scape is huge, hopefully you can get one started!
Grapevine work great in ohio
Great info as always, one question I have a scrape that appears every late October in the same spot but the size is only about the same as a basketball not a huge one ? Every yr it opens up, it’s in cover not wide open
What's the question?
@@2wheeladdict12 as I said , if it’s a community scrape where it opens every October usually there the size of car goods where I have one of the those scrapes not far from this small one I’m talking about , my question to the person making the video is why is it so small, is the bigger one in the open better or the smaller one , I’ll wait for there response
scrapes come in all shapes and sizes. some are larger, some can be smaller. Big ones in the same spot every year are easier to find but some perennial scrapes can be smaller as well. If you notice that the scrape is consistently there year after year, it's near / within cover, that's one i'd sit over when the weather is right.
@@whitetailevolution thanks I enjoy your information
Thanks for the great advice! Now I am thinking like a buck!
😂 think like a buck!
Good video
Thanks!
Man we lost so many deer in Kalamazoo area from EHD im curious how the pre/full rut will even look like this year😮
Yep, I've been seeing more buck cruising activity on camera. Had two fighting in daylight on the 21st. Too bad I was at work.
Isnt that how it always goes!? at least thats the case with me haha. Thankfully we've got a week left in octover. Good luck!
How do you feel about putting one of those scent drippers that only drip in daytime in front of your stand?
I dont think it would hurt anything but i havent had much luck with those in the past. I dont think they brought any extra bucks. the best scent is the natural scent left by the herd
You know your stuff
appreciate it, but I'm always trying to learn more each year! there is always something new to learn in the deer woods. happy to put these videos together
Made a mock scrape last night and had an 8 pointer hit it about 3 hrs after I left
it's crazy how fast they find those scrapes! Good luck!
@@whitetailevolution hoping to take him on Thursday gonna be 18 degrees cooler than the rest of the week
With the cold front coming, what time should you head into the woods? Before light or a bit later?
depending on your stand location. If you're headed close near cover and accessing away from food, I would try to be in the stand well before first light. However if you need to access a stand that's closer to food, sometimes its a good idea to wait until the sun starts to come up for the deer to clear the food plots, then sneak into the stand. this way you don't spook deer off the plots. different stands / different access routes will have different timing..
@@whitetailevolution thank you. early before light it is! Good luck to you, hope you have a great season
This is all great advice. But what about to new hunters who are hunting public land they have never hunted before.
Hunting public land is similar to private in what you're looking for. Private does have the advantage of being able to regulate pressure and improve habitat, but we're still hunting the same type of setups. On public, you would need to find those areas through scouting. Start with a satellite map, locate a few areas and then scout them. Pin the ones with the best sign and start there. It's still bedding to food, edges, pinch points and funnels :)
80deg here today, shut down movement in the daylight hours. Bucks showing up in AM dark.. Hopefully next week we'll get things moving in the right direction.
cooler weather will promote more daylight activity. hopefully we get some soon!
Are you in Ga
Are you in Arkansas? sat from 6 am to 1 pm near oaks dropping acorns heavily. tall pines with lots of mushrooms and juniper berry's. 4 ponds in a 200 yard range and a lake half a mile away. Thickets nearby. I know their eating at night but still no midday movement
Yes for me. This weather is breaking me. The acorns even felt late. @henryrainey9540
23 Oct SE PA
good luck!
What if you find 8 scrapes in a row on a filed edge?
Me personally wouldnt put as much stake into a field edge scrape because theres a good chance those were made at night. BUT those are great camera locations for inventory. Hang a camera and you'll likely get most of the bucks in the area, if theyre primary scrapes. to find the daylight scrape, move back off the field a bit towards thick cover.
You should have added that if a rub is at bottom of a tree then that means the buck was laying down when he did it
lol what
maybe in the next one!
How does the hunter know when the pre rut ends? When does the rut actually happen? What changes?
The pre rut is a slow build towards the rut. once the does become receptive, the pre rut is over and the rut begins
It's based on the amount of Daylight Photoperiodicity triggers the Does to go into estrous.. look at your area Amount of Daylight usually happens same time every year !! Here in Western Pennsylvania it's typically Halloween n you will see lots of Daylight buck activity n chasing of does !! Based on weather get out into the woods 21st to 25th of October thru 15th or 20th of November depending what state you reside! Good luck n be safe !! 😎🇺🇸
Point and hope 😂
let it fly!
No new educational information here unless you are a greenhorn, very basic common sense information.
I'm sure you're a blast at parties.
Sounds like there might be opportunity to create your own channel 😉

Lol lol lmao 🤣 .. Right !!! 😬
