It is certainly a choice. Not an especially good one though. I think it's supposed to be ADR as a reference to the bizarre audio of dubbed Italian horrors in the 1970s... But that reference seems to have nothing to do with the plot.

There are fun little *details* showing it was a demon: The name of the street: CHURCH STREET. The fact that the clerk is stacking 'LIL HEAVEN ALE' on the shelves when she walks in. This film was really clever, I loved it.

Good story, no creepy ghosts or entities needed to create suspense. Just a misterious lady. It's for the viewers imagination if she's a psycho murder or something else. Personaly i think she has something not human/e.t. lol. Btw the other client/man who enters the store his reaction is hilarious when his greeting is being ignored by her 👌🤣

Let's all just do a creepy first ten minutes of a horror short and then end it any place with some silly props and say, THE END!
