Thank you EA for your videos! I have identified what my natural swing is this last week by watching all your videos. After 2 different instructors and 17 golf lessons I was not able to get rid of my pulls and pull hooks. This video explained my issue exactly since I'm a side hand golfer. Will work on your drills and no more guessing on what to do!
Thank you, E.A.! I've almost identified my biomechanics. I'm feeling more comfortable with center-front anchor (75-25), side-on under (50-50), shoulder-torso plane (80-20), center-front linkage (75-25), horizontal hinge (100), body/roatary swinger and I'm still incorporating the rest. My question: why did the advice in this video help prevent my clubhead being delivered from the outside? After incorporating this, my hands now more easily return to the address position with the clubshaft right on the address plane at impact. My swing is now, suddenly, much more from the inside and it feels effortless. Thank You!
Alex Chin, that depends on a couple of things. The more tilt there is in the pelvis alignment the more the right leg will straighten as the hip turns. However if the golfers adds in some squat with the turn then he or she can maintain the knee flex. The more level the hips turn in relations to the ground the more likely the golfer will maintain right knee bend. Depending on the chosen swing technique some golfers will find a need for the right leg to straighten, somewhat, without locking straight. Those golfers that find the leg straightens too much with this action usually need a little squat in the backstroke.
