@@ThePakistanExperience The fact that we still call ourselves Indian - a greek term, or hindustani - an arab/persian/turkic term - these are all internalized identities defined by outsiders. Even the local identities - e.g. the concept of bharat - is from the vishnu purana "from north the snowy mountains to the deep sea to the south - live the people of bharata" - that identity includes you guys, which is something you didn't want and discarded in order to create a completely new one. I prefer to use the term native american but native americans themselves have said they prefer to be called indian. It's all fine, I guess.

Mr. Haque complains about "our nation being this and that" and he is so flippant that the's stuffing his face for the 1 hour he had to talk to a thousand people. Terrible manners to say the least! Recently subscribed to channel ,felt this is one of the few youtube channels who talks sense but this guest of yours has literally led down in the first 15 mins itself. No doubt if these are the kind of economists in pakistan, this nation though we want see making progress, but it will not. Always Preaching doesn't help sometimes your actions speaks louder. Sorry but couldn't finish the show.

Nice discussion but that munching sound & utter unprofessionalism from Dr Haque was quite irritating.
Watched 15 minutes and then had to stop. He is a PHD but i can't hear someone who is munching during the podcast. There are many others whom we can listen with respect. Thank you

There are very few free thinkers like Haque in Pakistan, you cant fully understand economics which is a behavior as well as science IF you cant freely think (and not get stuck in ideologies). World is not discussing ideologies in the educated sector and personalities in the uneducated lot which is the case of Pakistan. We need to create markets which is possible, IF we create markets or atleast try to create markets by outsmarting the dumb systems we live in, our purpose is to take clues from ideologies not believe in it like religion and use it to out smart the unevolved mix of systems in Pakistan.

1:19:40 g, bikul barabar nai ho sakte, and i think Marx was the first among the communists to admit it, and therefore he advocated for a state, and personal property (at least for now) whereas others wanted absolutely no state and no property. and i can recall Dr Taimur also said that some level of hierarchy will still exist even in their organizational structure. And today, libertarian variants of Marxism, like Dr Wolff also agree that in their version of socialism, hierarchies will still exist, and according to him " the society won't be perfect, but better than what it is now". Anyhow, we should try to have a less hierarchies as possible, but they'll still be required at some level though

As a centre-libertarian a lot of his ideas resonate with me - both right wing (religion) and auth-left (karl marxallah) seem to have lost their ability to learn from developments in moral philosophy and economics in the last century. You need flexibility to absorb change. That said I think he's trolling just for kicks at this point, and his lack of empathy made you derail him every time he started getting into economics. I hope I don't end up like him as an old man.

@@prashantp2029 Hi, so I am not an academic but growing up in Pakistan, every other blue collar person I have talked too, house help, drivers, clerks, mostly govt job holders. They don't want to change, it's not about risk or security, it's about limited thinking. And then again the same folks take loans to spend on weddings, and dowry. Even the relatively educated ones. All they want is a plot, that's it. I am in no way taking them for granted, but a majority does not want to change.

He thinks that its ok to have 1 to 2 million people bonded labor! And he is economist! Thats 1% of population which means indirectly 3 to 4% families. Add to that those who are close to the same poverty or can fall into such labor. Then there will be similar 5 other bad systems, occupations or issues that can exist. This guy cant be an economist!
There could be some truth that people dont ask for change. But he is missing the point. All those revolutions happened when state had nothgin more than swords. Try it today uncle and state will pulverize thousands in fraction!

I think Nadeem Haque has very limited practical experience/understanding of how the establishment works in implementing the capitalistic mode of economics and how developmental economics are depriving poors.

I can't understand the chemistry of Pakistan. Thieves are blaming each other for thieving. One invite and other explained while the middle class of public haven't interest in these talks. Pakistan economy of middle class can't collapse easily because business class at every level looted to each others, upper class looted middle class, middle class robbed low class and low class collect money through charity channels from middle class. Such economy cycle continue in Pakistan which run Pak economy.
