Deceptively is the best fitting word for an over 23 ft of loa boat being called 218. I guess less is more nowadays in GW world, I hope they have improved on their fbg laying techniques because their 80s boats were soft floors and bad transoms all day. You can definitely tell is a 23 ft boat by the speeds that 4.2 250hp yamaha is pushing. One thing GW always been able to accomplish is looking flawless in the water, one of the best riding boat you'll ever get.

I really like everything this boat has to offer for a 21. Then I checked the price. $150K for a 21?? I know it’s a GW but wow.

Watch that width, my friend ended up with a 25 footer, as it was narrower than a 23--which was too wide to legally tow. Look up the maximum width you can tow in your state, be sure if you plan to tow this, it is narrow enough to comply with the law. If it is too wide, maybe the road people don't really care, but do look into it. Information is always good to have, as I said, it is why my friend went with a 25, this way he can tow without worry.

I would love to sew a Test on the 180 Fisherman from Grady White. I think for the quality of boat you get its a good Price.

Owned the 208. The 218 is to be the next gen but really Grady attempted to cram the 208 and 228 into one. The beam is wider but that doesn’t carry over to other areas. The cuddy is smaller than the 208, and the cockpit is tight, and still no windless. Grady need to bring back the 228 as the 236 with its 9 foot beam is a lot of boat. I’ve opted for the 216 in the mean time but will jump at a new 228 if Grady brings it back, as I prefer a walk around with hardtop.

Thank you for your comments You are a true Grady devotee! They're lucky to have you. We find that once someone owns a Grady they stay with the brand. Let's hope they bring it back!

Nice presentation, the one thing it seems that is a big NO NO, is showing any boat in serious seas. Don't want to scare off first time buyers, but in my view, if it is an ocean going boat (this is) sooner or later, you will get in the chop, and even more chop than you want. But, boat reviews don't want to touch that--I get it from the advertiser/boat dealer perspective, they don't really care if you regret your purchase later, but a "review" should include some sea keeping--not to scare people off, just to show them what they will face AND how this fine boat will handle those seas.

Very nice review. Enjoyed this new model by Grady very much, did get a chuckle at the hardtop height where Capt Steve makes it sound very high at 6'4". I'm 6'3", which means my head with a hat is touching, Capt. Steve is a foot shorter.🙂

Is there a Boat Test review or comparison of the electric steering vs bolt on steering applications? Is one more reliable than the other?

170k for a fishing boat with no built in fish boxes to keep your fish. The hull probably cost 25k to make.
