I just bought a second hand Hymer B544 very. Low mileage, well kept, 22,000 private sale. Very happy. Beautifully made. Not paying more for the dogs to bounce over!

I do love looking around new motorhomes. Ours is a 2010 tag Chieftain but we love it. Prices nowadays are just bonkers. Was hoping you guys would have seen the hymer ml crossover, freedom of a 4x4 but the luxury of motorhome.

I live in Stafford and went to the opening day in February 2019. I went round all the big beautiful motorhomes and I couldn’t find anything that was massively superior to Madge. Some of the beds were too high for Steve to sit up in. Most of them didnt have a microwave or electric hot plate. The habitation door is not on my preferred side and they were all out of my budget. Great thing about the day I met Julia Bradbury and tasted wine with Jilly Goolden. Loved looking round the vans. Take care Gill
Hi and thank you for your comment , the problem is, is that that they are designed for the European market, so no coolers etc as they cook mainly outside

Hi Rob and Lynn I am absolutely amazed and happy that you have fully booked your meet up , my mum died of dementia in October last year and hope you raise lots of money for your charity a race against dementia, that horrible desease aged my mother so fast she just didn't stand a chance and I am still greiving her. Loss , keep up the good work Rob and Lynn and supporting our armed forces also is a big support to a reservist veteran serving 24 years, unbelievable, you always look very pretty Lynn and your videos are great , I hope you raise lots of money for your charity at your meet up and stay safe, xxxxx

At that dealership the cheapest van there was over 80k 😳, hopefully we can have a look at cheaper ones at the next dealership 😊😊
We love our Dethleffs. You certainly pay for the step up in quality from Swift etc.

In the late 1990s to 2017, Linda and Myself both worked for a Mercedes Benz commercial dealership in Edinburgh and we also sold Hymer motorhomes back in the day as part of the dealership, the older Herman hits the road shape ones!, Hymers were / are good quality motorhomes although some can be very bland inside for the money, anyway hopefully you’ll find the right one that suits you in the future ( a nice kon tiki tag 😉)

Nice vans, but I would have looked in that Carthago first in front of the last niesmann Bischoff you looked in, and you also missed the tag axle knaus to the left of it, both cracking vans👍

We have just sold our 5 year old A class for almost the same
price as we paid for it when we bought it new - the only additions fitted were air con and an inverter - prices have gone mad and we now have to wait it over a year for our new one 😮😮 good luck on finding “the one” 😊

Dealers hiding number plates is absolutely ridiculos and only tells me that they do not want you to compare the original price with what they are currently ripping you off with now. Great video guys and thank you so much for sharing. 👌

My van is coming up for two years old, when I renewed the insurance I left the value as the new price, the insurance company said due to van price increases I should consider increasing the insurance value of the van. We live in mad times.
Hi Rob and Lynn. Great video again. Surprised you hadn't seen a slide away toilet before. We have one in our Malibu 6.4 metre camper van. It's a great idea. We only slide the toilet away when we want to use the shower which then gives us a much more spacious showering area. I think I'm right in saying that all the Malibu camper vans (even the 5.4 metre vans) incorporate a sliding toilet.

@@RobandLynnontour The other big plus is we have folding screens for doors rather than a shower curtain. The Malibu and Carthago range are certainly worth a look if you are seriously thinking of changing your motorhome

We bought our Hymer BMC-T690 from there in 2019. Love the van but the add-ons by Travelworld caused problems which took nearly 3 years to sort out.

Hope people are not going out on a limb to buy these vehicles. Have heard about people taking equity release on their homes and cashing in pensions to finance vans. Hope they don’t get stung.

All these vans were nice ,overpriced but had nothing really different to what you already have ,and in my humble opinion you have one of the best vans on the road,keep your money and enjoy 🤩😍

Just a thougt Rob Lynn I brought a new tag axle in 2012 from aeg mothormes Stourbridge 65k at the time they ordered it in for me was cheaper than any dealer around at the time give um a try atb both

You have to remember when comparing german motorhomes to British they are chalk and cheese.
The build quality of a hymer compared to example to a swift or autotrail is a massive difference
Hence the money.
Get yourself an a class german motorhome if your serious about upgrading.
You wont regret it

You can get the age by looking on the side of the tyres there are 4 numbers in a row, first two states the week, last two is the year example 4716 is the 47th week 2016.And them motorhomes don't look that old so they will have the original tyres on them.Happy Bloody Holidays

Sliding toilet,how do I get in there. 😂Eye watering amount of money for some of those vans but they are lovely. The Dethleffs are the ones I like. 👍

It’s because they are starting to offer the vans on contract terms at some outlets so you only rent them.

I love looking around motorhomes but I don't like Hymer. For that money, I'd want 3 gas and an electric plate on the hob, an oven and grill that's not so high it's an accident waiting to happen, a bed that I wouldn't have to have mountain climbing gear to get into and proper sofas to relax on. There are far more motorhomes out there with great spec and a fraction of the price. Great video though guys. It sure was an eye opener!

I think RVs are twice as expensive in the UK than here on Vancouver Island but one design difference I’ve noticed is the UK does not seem to use bump outs on their RVs.

@@RobandLynnontour Yep same, you guys have a great van and is probably worth more now than when you got it. But what to change it for better for the money. Ours is 2006 and owes us nothing and we get away that's the main thing, Full time van life why not but there would have to be a limit. Still hopeful we can swop next year but no good if we are stressed paying for it. Off to meet my brother in Lincoln tonight and I will spend an extra pond on the wine to feel posh lol.

Hello to you, must say the prices now have increased far too much.
Our van is a pilote fgj new auto 2020. Cost with many extras, gas lo system, full alarm etc. £65000
Now £84000 excluding the extras.
We estimate £87000 plus

@@RobandLynnontour hi , yes they are but maybe many will buy on credit. Having seen the interest rates over 10 years iam amazed. We fulltime so when we sold the home we bought the van outright. Just had massive solar and lirhium fitted which is a game changer for us .

Adria said they can’t supply some of the parts, but it’s the van we want, so we just have to wait. Latest update says delivery between March and June. Fingers crossed.

I’m definitely in the minority but really don’t like the European layout vans.
I love the proper lounges of British vans like your swift and our Autotrail. Also there was hardly any worktop space and decent sink in any of the very expensive vans you saw. A lot of them don’t have proper ovens either. I do like the bedrooms (the height wouldn’t bother me personally).
I mean all those vans you saw would be out of my price range anyway but even if money was no object I wouldn’t have one. The only one I’d make an exception for is that amazing carthego that the extreme motorhomers reviewed. Mind you that was a quarter of a million!!
I’m in the minority I know but I MUCH prefer our British vans. :)

Please please do not buy any type of Motorhome to far from where you live…. Other companies will not undertake any warranty work that may be required. Don’t get caught out like I did… I purchased a new Elddis 150 which had several defects… I had to go back to the dealership where I purchased it even though I had a reputable Elddis dealership just up the road who said there would complete the work but changed their mind later.. grr
