      Try to teach more songs of hope and faith and love like the old fashioned folks songs that Christian people would sing 100 years ago. Songs found in early Southern Christian Churches like FARTHER ALONG.

    This is useful. I was finally able to play this song thanks to this video and the elaborate explanation on the rhythm and swing in general. Thank you. The rhythm is always a struggle for me as a beginner, and most of the lead youtubers don’t talk about it.

    Salu Lauren, a very good Lesson for Beginners. The Original is a little bit to complicated for Beginners, cause you have to use Drop D Tuning and the Harmonics on the 12th and 7th fret for the beginning of the Song. To spice up the Song I'm using the Emin7. Sounds wonderful.
    Keep on rocking Lauren and have a happy weekend. Greets from your northern Neighbor ☺☺🎸🎸

    Not a song I'm familiar with Lauren but a great lesson. Have you done a lesson for Willie Nelson's version of Always on my mind? I'm trying to learn it currently but none of the videos I've seen or the chord sheet I'm using clarify how many beats each chord is played for and it's not obvious listening to the song. The way you break the songs down would be perfect for that song! Keep up the good work, always enjoy watching your lessons 👍

    Class sounds coming from the new Taylor, how are you finding it compared to your other guitar? thanks again for showing us the actual intro as done by Mr Young, I'm working on it at the moment on the 12 string guitar, which I keep tuned down a full tone,a bit easier to sing for my baritone voice.

    • @LaurenBateman
      @LaurenBateman  2 роки тому

      The Taylor definitely has a warmer sound than the Crafter. I'm still partial to the crafter because I like the placement of the strap tab much better and I also like that my crafter has a built-in tuner. 🤣 Sometimes it's about the ease of use. But I think the tailor sounds much better on these finger-pickings songs. A much more balance tone.

    Hi. ...Been watching your videos for a while..Brand new subscriber. I very much enjoy you. I've taken an online basic guitar lesson course...can comfortably play a dozen or so chords and have three or for strumming patterns that I'm competent at. BUT HONESTLY what I enjoy most is trying to improvise over backing tracks.
    I can competently navigate 5 different 3NPS scale shapes...but I'm not very good at making those scales sound musical over the backing tracks. ANY advice on how I can improve? Thanks.

      Sounds fine to me. Are you one of those music purists that prefers to make things harder than they need to be VS making them easier to understand and fun?

    • @wayneholmes6656
      @wayneholmes6656 7 місяців тому +2

      It's not about being a purist. This instruction is wrong in a few areas pertaining to this song. The comment is correct but your reaction to an unfavorable comment is wrong. There is no E minor and B minor? He may be a purist but there is an element of fun in expanding the skills of the student beyond his or her ability. This is what separates a teacher from an opportunist

    • @aaronjademusic5197
      @aaronjademusic5197 7 місяців тому +2

      I think this is just a basic idea of the song so the student can get the gist of it. Later when you’re more comfortable, you can get a more precise tutorial, which are available. That’s what I do. In the 10 years I’ve been playing live, nobody has ever come up to me saying, “you played it incorrectly!” lol!
      Thanks for sharing the lesson Lauren
