It's a structural stitch that is supposed to secure the layers of the lapel and prevent rolling, but is now often added for 'fomo', aesthetic reasons, or sartorial snobbery - for want of a better term.
Is pick stitching done after construction is complete or at some point prior. I'm trying to figure out if you flip over the lapels will you see the longer stitches of the pick stitching? If anyone knows please respond.
I think it's a 'flex' to show that you have a functional button hole, indicating truthfully or otherwise, that the suit is custom and was not made to be altered. It's usually only that last buttonhole that is functional unless you are paying thousands. - Known as a 'surgeon's cuff'.

Love this detail.
It would be excellent to have a pick stitch demo 👍
@Bespoke Edge is it possible to safely remove the pick stitching?
How does the quality defer if you use machine running stich instead?
Great video, a how-it's-done video is in order.
By the way, you are gorgeous and have a stunning voice!

Isn't 'silhouette' pronounced as see-law-wet, like how you pronounce 'baguette' as ba-get?
You're right, thank you!
Sill-oo-wet, not see-, unless you are speaking in French. Where does he use this word? 🤔
