  • If you follow the Melbourne street scene then you would have seen this 9-second HSV that we’ve featured previously on fullBOOST. Currently the quickest LSA powered GTS in Australia, we caught up with owner Brett and Steve from Vision Automotive as they were fine tuning the Gen-F at Dynohouse after a fresh round of upgrades including a Harrop TVS2650 supercharger.

    Amazing power in a TRUE street car, full weight, full exhaust, stock running gear.... unreal... pretty hard to beat VF HSV platform thats for sure.

    OMG, the pulls, 😱, this car is a "Fullboosted LSA sleeper". Over here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, the boys would go abso nuts over this car. Animal is not the word for it, I have to say "Dragon Beast"

    HA - when I turn the subtitles on --- it shows it as 'MUSIC" playing during the dyno runs -- HA - that is one smart subtitle software -- HA - certainly sounds like 'MUSIC' to my ears from that blower whine and engine noise. Have a nice day all -- CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.

    I tell you what that engine was blueprinted to race full stop, every single moving part is either coated with ceramic heat protection and also balanced every single moving part even the bolts or studs used were checked that the weight of everything and thread was perfectly made to measure full stop, if you have a engine that has over 1,200 hp at the rear wheels day in and day out all night long, thats spending money and guys that know what they are doing, now he just needs to race it and get the tune done just right for each gear and hopeful she sticks to the ground and lights up the world with the first 8 second VF Holden HSV GTS, then she will be the quickest vf gts in stock trim so to speak in australia if not the world, well she was anyway, especially when she had the LSA in it ,with the 427 and 2.650lt supercharger its not a VF HSV anymore in a way as its got aftermarket engine in it?
    I hope she does 8's a 8.90 would be mint?

    Dont be a %@$@$ and respect th build. I dont think any falcon could handle over 1000bhp with a stock driveline. Not dissing the falcons at all but let's just be logical, they are both aussie and they are both great

      Total and utter bs ,what 2k with upgrades to a barra engine and you saying its factory turbo driveline will handle over 1,100 HP at the rear wheels your dreaming buddy, its would break straight away ,first thing the auto will go and then the tailshaft and also the diff ,with in a couple of runs the track would be full of il full stop? also anything running over 600 hp at the rear wheels needs auto, tailshaft and diff upgrades just to handle the power for dragh racing its all mathematical certainty full stop? the Fg ute they blud in less than 10 days had those upgrades i am talking about to go to the states, yet all up if you have to pay for it all your looking over 50 k easy, thats with top end engine trans and diff and then computer fuel system and everything else smaller rear tyres and breaks etc etc, get your facts right buddy before commenting, also the LSa had over 800 hp factory driveline and still did 9.50's, tell which factory FG barra has nothing done to the drive line upgrades and only engine and turbo upgrades which has over 580 hp at the rear wheels and does 9.50's all day everyday with out breaking anything. The stock fords 6 speed auto max tongue fingers are 600 newton meters thats it, no wonder so many of them had problems for the turbo versions and the same with the diff and worst thing of all the computer in the auto will not be able to be used in any other car or auto, you have to use the same ECU from your auto and engine ecu all the time, you can fix and do up the auto, but still have to use the ECU unless you spend a lot of money on a heltech or some other brand ECU engine auto ECU etc. :)
      NONE thats the truth, dont get me wrong but sure the barra engine as far as cheap upgrades will get you a lot more power for bang for the buck, but for street and drag use, you still have the auto and diff issues from the factor and Scotty from carnage will tell you that for sure ?

    427ci 8 more psi? Frankenstein heads basically one of the best cylinder head guys in the world.... camshaft change.... better inter cooling.. not hating on harrop but you probably done the least here mate... maybe the clean up on the Frankenstein heads? Lol don’t touch those heads with your Polly roller bud u wouldn’t know the first or last thing that’s gone into developing those heads.. probably made them worse than the way he finishes them to begin with.. Nice car mate

    Your tuner should put a 3 bar map in and rescale the VVE table for 315 kpa so he isn't running out of cells.. badass car tho! I'm installing this 2650 on my g8/ VE right now😎

    Update Harrop have made the 2650I which is to suit the LSA and looks stock so to speak ( but instead of the 1900 its a 2650 supercharger with a Harrop lid) and produced even more power, around 1,170HP, all they need to do is tune it to run perfectly based on the gears and the right boost and power to come in at the right mark and Brett will need new plates does8's, cant wait till she does 8's even a 8.99 its still a 8 second car, good luck to him i hope he sends it soon and makes it to high 8's. :)

    Just wondering if the spacer under the supercharger is used in this combo, as it helps produce around 20 to 30 hp at the rear wheels, if not, maybe thats why it cant fit under the bonnet? Or maybe it does, dont know for sure, but my guess it has got it, only needs a A?C gas interchillert set up and bang for buck more HP easy especially in summer hot days when its 40 degrees and you have temps around 3 to 4 degrees c inlet temps. compared to standard coolant type interchillers goes, which is around maybe 60 to 80 degrees c, plus with air ,then down to maybe 40 degrees c ? Total and UTTER BEAST of a CAR. :) cant wait till covid is over to see how quick she is. :)

      On a power run with the chiller the intake temp peaked at around 45c on a 15c day which is pretty good considering how hard the blower is being pushed.

    How do you like the otr intake? Im making around the same power but im worried that the filter in that intake might be restrictive. Any info/thoughts would be appreciated.

    What is the massive AN fitting and line at the 10:15 mark, going to the OTR and then back to the what looks like a extra air filter on the right, just behind the left hand headlight on the right of the screen if anyone can answer that one for me?

      I'm guessing oil /air separator breathing back into the intake.

    Dont know why they had to weld those two coolant intake parts, they could have totaly made them one peace via CNC machined up, no need to weld them at all, not saying its a little weaker, but any weld in any alloy is the weakest point full stop. :)

    Accordingly to absolute sick *%#!*% on club FG all you need is 275 drag radials to handle anything above 1000whp and you can hit 1.005 60fts as well, yeah sure, maybe a gutted tin CAN drag car. you need big F off tyres and a well tuned suspension and drive train to put big power down. AWD is preferable

    totaly unreal, but in saying that, if there's no computer to run things, you would not get it off the line, like in the old days, air lynco 2 speed or turbo 400 9" and throttle or feather the throttle i should say and then see how she runs down the 1/4, no way over 1,000hp at the rear wheels impossible unless you have done it so many times before, but congrats this car is the beast from HOLDEN /HSV, with new torque converter , now new fluid, lol :) Its should be doing very low 9's now if he can get traction and change to a haltech computer and there you go just to see how easy it will change things for the 1/4 mile times, you can always put the HSV ECU back on? . :)

    I wonder what external trans cooler he has the OE HSV or police pack cooler or aftermarket larger with built in fan and the same with the diff oil cooler, which is a option for the HSV's and also the engine oil cooler as well. :) Better safe then sorry i say, especially if you have removed the auto to put the new convertor, why not change the trans cooler with a hi qulaity unit with a fan, so when the auto fliud get above a point the fan kicks in, so on really hot days your safe the same with engine oil cooler and diff oil cooler, plus why not run the real A/C gas through the intercooler as well on the supercharger line, that way on really hot days the intake temps will be so cold its not funny, cheers and keep up the great wrok cant wait till the car is runin at the drags days.:) I hope she hits 8's. :)

      The Chevy SS is a rebadged Holden Commodore SS. This car is the higher spec GTS with a factory LSA engine. The GTS model was never sold in the USA.

      YTFB is most certainly slower than this.
      On the only dyno vid I could find for YTFB... they're 150hp behind (dyno difference could make some of that).
      But that was LSA vs LSA and about a year ago (for both).
      Show time slips or GTFOH...
      Both VIC cars.... if YTFB ever went to the drags, instead of powercruise or or just doing street burnouts... *they would have run into DOES9S* .

      @@fullboost yes this is true but there comes a point where anymore power won't make any difference. I forgot what the figure was from engineering lecturers but for example, if you have a 800hp car and then had the option of increasing power to 1,600hp (double ) or increasing grip by 10%, the grip mod will be far more beneficial. Engineering Explained has a video on this.
      Maybe I'm just not that into drag racing and like circuits more but i reliably have 800rwhp, and it's more than enough.

      adam I never said anything about the driveline.. but there’s a barras in the 8’s still running the ZF, albeit a built ZF though. I must admit, that’s very impressive that the 6L90 is still standard! The diff is the same as the ford though.

      adam There’s an Orange FG F6 in Melbourne that runs mid 8’s. It’s got rods, pistons, heads studs, turbo, fuel system, cooler and a built ZF, rest is complete stock with a full interior and built in the owner’s garage... also, I never said anything about money, I said “WITH far less”, not “FOR far less”.
