Yes and yes, again -- back into a spot as you arrive at your destination; park next to an island strip and never, ever use the space next to a car with a child's safety seat or a 2 door coupe--we abhor dings! Maybe you can use the carpet protectors from the car in the storage area in the truck. They will add to the resale value of the car to have them rather than throwing them away.
good taste on the chargers colors ,get a product called scotch guard, spray a bunch of layers on the carpet where u said salt collects

The white stuff you get on the carpet is snow melt..if you don't remove it. It will ruin the carpet..buy some carpet protection which is a clear plastic the sticks to the carpet and protects it..auto detailers use it alot.

Why back a car into a space? Most drivers can’t get it straight, I have to wait for them make several tries. Backing out of a parking space is easier, safer, doesn’t tie up traffic, and is safer.
Cry more!
If you can’t reverse into a parking space consider you need to improve your driving skills.
When it’s time to go you just drive off, safer ,use less fuel and your away.
Always park like a “Bank Robber.” 😀
You ALWAYS back into a parking space, never back out! That way you are in total control of the situation when you arrive as well as when you leave. I can't even believe that someone would disagree about that.
