- Today's system test on the Wheelock & Fire-Lite voice evacuation fire alarm demonstration board shows the significance of linear heat detection. For the first time during a system test, I have a Protectowire Type EPC 155°F fixed line heat detector triggered with real fire. The system also has a vintage Simplex strobe plate and a Siemens horn/strobe installed. Thank you for watching, subscribe!

Absolutely awesome setup, man! All the alarms all sound really good abd healthy! In NZ, we also use linear heat detection, too. I think we use them in kitchens in commercial restaurants! In fact, I ordered a System Sensor PA400R the other day, but it will take a very long time to arrive. Since i do not live in the US, the price was much higher, approximately $47! But this is my first true American alarm as American alarms in NZ are incredibly rare to find! Anway, really good video, man!

To be honest, Linear Heats are like Fixed heats where they can only be used once. I also find it cool that the linear catches fire and trips the panel.
08:02 And also another good reason to power down the system while replacing the protectowire is to prevent any SLC short circuits that can fry and damage the SLC as it can be easily short circuited while the SLC is still communicating with the addressable points and you can also avoid that by unplugging or disabling the SLC loops. You can also use isolater modules while working on a live SLC and replacing an addressable device to prevent damage to the SLC as well

I started watching ur videos a long time ago and I started my fire alarm collection when I was 8 and my first alarm was a fire lite BG12-SL bc it was single action now I am 13 going on 14 and have more fire alarms

I'm using my mom's tablet to do this im 8 years old and I wanted a fire pull station for Christmas but sadly I didn't get one but I still love your videos because every time I watch your videos it makes me wonder how many do you have and if some are old or new.
Imagine you're in the building and someone pulls the fire alarm. And it just says "Please leave the building on fire".
It sad that you can't use the alarm Because it needs a specific backbox

Nice! Just curious, how do you get the delay for when the NAC's go off in an alarm?
It's a feature called Pre-Signal, which allows a certain amount of seconds(which is selectable up to 60 or 90 seconds if I recall correctly) to pass by before activating the NACs. This feature is present on the MS-5UD, MS-10UD, MS-9200UDLS, MS-9600UDLS, and the ES-200X
