After your hints the new SE is SPECTA. Instead of discontinue older drones they sold the license to go on. It’s a win/win situation because owners will still get batteries. DJI is not in need to care anymore but there’s still an income. Nothing chances, drone-owners are still suggesting to go with DJI if you intend to buy a product of quality.

I would like to specta use different colours in their drones, like maybe have the new specta mini in a darker colour gray, like the DJI Mavic 3, this would disginguish them better from their counterpart DJI, I do wonder what mini they have produced? is it the Mini 2 frame or the newer Mini 3/4 frame?
Most people know that Autel is most famous for its vehicle scanners. A while back a sub company under the name "Otofix" that uses the same familiar Autel scanner software started up. I can't say if the hardware is the same. I suspect this is something Chinese companies are doing to sell some products at lower prices. I hadn't thought of the tariff angle but that may be at play too. I think your take on this is sound Jack.

Firmware in craft and controller is the same as dji, most of file names, even programming notes are largely identical to those found in DJI craft and controller firmware. Bans, tariffs, and a way to get around WTO rules on dumping, state financing, etc.
So it must be a clone of the Mini 2 if you think it will be 300 or less. If it was the Mini 3, it would have to be 400-500 since it still gets close to 700. I hope you do more on the specta air 3. ;-)
I think you hit it square on with DJI probably has a few of these lying around. Probably like many, when I upgraded from my Air2S the Air3 wasn't appealing enough. I bought the Mini 4 Pro which other than the double camera and higher top speed is everything the Air3 is except quieter and more portable. Honestly I'm hoping for an Air3S with a killer camera that I will buy when it comes.

The only thing that makes me nervous about buying this drone is that I can’t buy the Care Refresh on it. It’s still a lot of money for this drone and having the insurance gives me a little more confidence when flying it.
I sure would like it to have SDK capabilities. The only drone that DJI has(that has this), that’s affordable is the Air2 S and this is getting very old. The next one up that does this is $5000.
Currently the batteries are not swappable with each the "other" drone. Air3 batts don't work in the Specta, and same the other way around. They fit, but throw an error saying it's not a compatible battery in software - won't launch. They will both fit in the same charger and that works fine.
I'll wait for Potensic to release a non-geofenced alternative the Air and/or Mavic. Geofencing will be the deciding factor for people like me and there are many.
Do you by any chance have another clone this time Mavic 3 called Anzu Robotics Raptor T? I saw it in another video and I thought it would make a great review as well. This one looks like it has American address. This would be pretty interesting because it looks like dji is finding ways to circumvent tbe ban in the US by introducing these look alikes through other companies. These companies will be able to sell the drones and dji will be selling parts or complete drones to these companies therefore making money still!
Cheaper Cogito mini (D JI). Maybe it'dji's way of dealing with the fimi mini and protensic atom. Those not quite there yet alternatives might find it hard to compete against a new drone as polished as Cogito...umm dji.
My take. This will be a American based company soon, as DJI knows it's going to be ousted from US skies. Think like a TicTok with American holdings and location.
I think if it gets more drones into more peoples hands it's a good thing. Drones are really great therapy tools for the right people. For myself I find when I fly my drone my heart picks up abeat or two and I feel like I'm on full alert and freeking out coz the drone cost 2g with the batteries and stuff so yeah I'm freeking, will it come home ? Yes. So I'm happy still got the mini 4 pro and can't wait to fly again 🏴☠️🚁
Since July, 1997 when the UK returned it to China. Hong Kong is nothing like it was though. People there are so unhappy now. It's bland and boring now too.
I believe DJI is moving the Air 3 sideways in order to bring out an Air 3s or Air 3Pro. I think they are slowly learning their lesson about quick releases. One example is the Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro. The 3 Pro got left in the dust. This way they are able to deplete their stock of earlier versions without undermining their price structure. IMHO.
The lower/cheaper version theory doesn't really make sense, because as you said, it's basically identical to the Air 3...why would they sell the same drone at a cheaper price when it's already selling like hot cakes at the higher price?
DJI may be more worried about the possible ban of their drones in the US. Specta could fill that void being made in Malasia. I think DJI have more interest in this company than we will ever know.
This is a great drone, but beware: they struggle with parts and batteries. You can wait for weeks or months to buy an extra battery. That does not give me a lot of confidence.

The air 3 has 4g lte but dji wont unlock it for us. This locking us out and geo fencing us really pissin mosy of us off. My drone cost more then my car and my car dont lock me out of speeding or not wearing a seat belt

So then, is it actually your drone itself that locks you out of geo fenced locations? Just like your car’s travel speed is limited by highway speed limits and road laws, not by your car itself. Sensing a pattern here? Just because you buy and own something doesn’t mean you can do anything you want with it and take it anywhere it could possibly ever go. Simply owning a car/drone/plane/boat/horse/dog doesn’t mean you can drive/ fly/ sail/ ride/ walk absolutely anywhere and everywhere those things can potentially go. With all of them you are controlled and restricted in traveling with them one way or another. Oftentimes it’s those pesky fences of all kinds , other times it’s the local laws restricting your freedom of movement with your whatever, rarely is it that the car/drone/ boat/horse/dog refuses your commands without a good reason, malfunction or a fence in the way. 👌

The only proposed bans on DJI are for governmental use. That's entirely within the bounds of an Executive Order (from the POTUS) when it comes to Federal agencies. Any bans for state agencies have to be approved either by said state agency, state legislature, or by an act of Congress. As a private citizen you are free to own a DJI drone without restriction, until and unless there is a law passed through Congress and signed by the POTUS. Please be informed so you can be a better citizen.

DJI is striving to be the market leader in all areas of unmanned aircraft. Taking away those lucrative markets would be a serious hit to their bottom line. Plus MY goggles will work....lol.. Goggles make the hobby so much more fun.. I do fly DJI drones TOO.. or is it they fly me.. dang robots

I think that its unlikely that dji will be banned because dji is about to launch the avata 2 and it got FCC approval so yeah may be right may be wrong
The FCC and Congress are two separate entities. Congress makes law, the FCC follows law, or least that's the way it's supposed to work.
