With a team that knows what’s going on and how to utilize Crypto is top notch. They’ll know your defenseless so the wont push to far from you. As well as, wait to get the Intel before blindly running around looking for the enemy. And the ability to grab banners and res with out putting (possibly the last person alive) yourself directly in front of the enemy is one of the biggest clutches. Have won a few games do to this. And also have lost a few do to the “i died and i was the best on my team so im leaving” people of apex (still trying to figure out why they dont just solo que).
It'd be great if these changes got through. -Automatically notify crypto when drone detected a change of nearby amount squad on banners. something like if we send out the drone and the banner is in its sight then some squad gets in the range the drone will automatically notify crypto. -Auto-pilot drones will be a big change. maybe just simply flying ahead of crypto. or it can be send out in a straight line and get back to crypto afterward.
Forgot one super duper important tip: you can heal and even use ult accels in the drone. All you gotta do is hold the drone button and then quickly hit your heal or ult accel button and you can multi-task. Ult accels come in handy when you’re at or close to 70% and you get an instant EMP as you position the drone. Hope that helps!!
One VERY OP trick i don't see many guides talking about is the fact that you can leave your drone inside trees or other enviromental objects that can hide your drone from the enemy. That can be a real game changer when they just give up on braking the drone witch means you will have infinite scans throughout the fight (forgive my horrible english :D )
Sometimes the leaves or branches of the tree will stop the drone from scanning but this tip works very well if you leave it behind the zone. The buzzing sound will cover the sound of your drone muffling it's position and the red color of the drone can make it confusing to find it also

I like the idea of giving him a passive that avoids scans. I know it’s been talked about, I think a balance would be to show like a glitched notification on the enemy side so that they know they hit a crypto, just don’t know where he is
He's got the pathfinder situation where his passive isn't much of a passive. A scanning characters passive is being able to scan... that's a bit dumb. It'd be like if bloodhound was the only one able to see the people he scans
i think a better passive, is to put all the utility he has on his drone onto him. like he can scan beacons and pick up banners and rez mates with no animation its instant, and he can see squads nearby on banners always etc.
@@eepiest if he could scan banners without his drone he would have a constant 200 meter scan with no drawbacks, having to use your drone to check banners is the balance trade off. As far as being able to do everything instantly with his body that would be cool, BUT the beauty of his drone is that he can tuck away in a corner and do all of that without being in real danger. As long as your time in drone is short then you’ll be fine.
Love the video! Crypto has been my main since his launch so I know most of the tips. However, I never thought to plop the drone down next to a beacon or banner as a way to constantly check the ring/players. I also want to share a tip for the emp. Remember that it takes time to activate and if it gets shot down you cancel ult and the drone so only emp if you know it’s safe. Or you can also activate the emp in safety and move into the area you want to emp giving them less time to react.
You also can't overstate the EMPs usefulness regarding placeable destruction. Gibby in the open throws a bubble? EMP and beam Caustic/ Wattson is camping? EMP and beam Lifeline healing in a corner with the drone? Maybe EMP but definitely beam Loba looting, Mirage ulting? Maybe just beam but still, it's Caustic's other counter apart from himself.
I'd honestly argue that a really good crypto is more useful to the team than a really good bloodhound. I'd love to see more people in ranked really learning crypto cause I think it's a meta changer.
Hes definitly a changer. as i use him more, i definitly find myself loving him more and more for his usefulness with the sqaud i run. Ash valk and crypto🤟
I always liked crypto but was never good at quick deploys in fights, so this change has made crypto exactly what I’ve wanted. The dude is straight wall hacks 😂

Crypto main here. This is a great guide. One thing that is important to add is the drone when opening pills counts as crafting so on rotation while you are pinging important loot in the way for your teammates it's a great way to rack up crafting to craft meds or hop ups or guns you need. Overall this is a pretty solid guide. Great job 😁
wow i didnt know that,, could loot bins for materials and then just sit on crafter without having to get them, thats good on a hot drop or smth i think

Crypto Must Know Tip #1 You should practice sliding at the very last mili seconds when going into your drone. This is as soon as Crypto opens up his device animation horizontally. This give you enough time to scan a banner to tell how many enemies are around and come back to your character all in one slide while following your team so that you dont fall behind. #2 in a close quarter fight (if in cover) send your drone above your head facing your enemy's position and instantly recall it the very moment you pressed the send button. This will give your drone enough time to scan your enemy's position giving you an idea where to aim and 50% chance your enemy will be aiming upward thinking the drone will stay up while you get out of cover and rush them out of their's if possible you can even throw your drone a 2nd time (since you recalled it) behind their cover on your way to them giving you a small advantage.
Ever since his buff, I've been using him much more often than last time. Such a small change he got was really useful. In tight corners I throw my drone to get some scans on where the enemies are, I use it as a distraction sometimes mid fight because enemies will aim at it while its using an emp, or they will still get a stun and shield damage.Also, the horizontal flight for crypto makes his drone much more easier to control. sure his normal flight is good to move around and confuse but usually the drone is going downwards whenever you move it in front, so it does make it easier for me to use the drone for me. but Now he's my second main to octane because he's become so much more fun to use and learn.
He's pretty fun and definitely much better than he used to be. I used the drone on a door fight the other day, it tanked a center mass mastiff shot for me and allowed me to clutch up that fight.
After being a crypto main since i joined apex legends (2 years) i realize that in end gain as a crypto main you always need to have respawn bacons in your survival kit cause you can insta respawn them in end game it's like keeping your team alive much longer allows you to be more of an asset . The snipers part caught me of guard cause i use car,r99,wingman,eva 8,flatline and sometimes the volt (now in care package) in aggressive crypto plays. You don't have to play back all the time i play up front most of the time and the key is not to get kills but to stay alive longer than anyone on the team and do more damage to enemy teams like life line.
As a crypto main this is a really good tips the only thing I would add tip wise if I’m ever being followed I would self emp Nd immediately start a bat Bc it’s takes a good second to go off and then the two second slow down so by the time they get to me I’m fully batted and they lost 50 and it gets me a big advantage I do this all the time and it works well
That drone really is a distraction, and the way that EMP melts shields is brutal... Might actually put horizon down and main this dude for a while ✌️ Solid guide.
In my personal opinion I think crypto is a really really good character. He allows the team to see the enemies way longer than bloodhound can. He can scout places out without putting himself or his teammates in danger. Not to mention when bloodhound scans you can kinda guess the general direction in which bloodhound is in. Nobody knows where the drone came from unless you literally see it leave a building or something. The drone is SNEEEEEAAAAKY man.
A cool buff to crypto would be to add what vantage does to her bat. Makes it easier to contribute more to fights if a single input can reposition the drone.
It’s so funny to me since I’ve mained Crypto since I unlocked him and people kept thinking Crypto was a meh legend, only to try him out and instantly make him one of their mains CRYPTO IS INCREDIBLE
crypto would definitely be top tier if they can make the drone more autonomously like following crypto or command to move to a point and maybe give it "randomized" movement pattern
The main reason I prefer crypto is the constant, relatively more quiet scans. Bloodhound gets a quick peek at enemies and beacons his location to everyone, people know to rotate or just shift location after a bloodhound scan. I feel that the downtime on Bloodhound scans is a huge detriment to his kit compared to Crypto as well. A crypto drone better forces them out of cover or is (at least) a better distraction due to the constant nature of the scanning. Crypto practically has wall hacks with a well placed drone, and can manuver more stealthily when the drone is in use. Though admittedly the drone being targeted and downtime on a killed drone makes Crypto a useless grunt haha. Like you mentioned in the video the drone audio is broken and silent at times too. A really good Crypto is arguably a better asset than a good bloodhound. Love the video, thanks for the tips and insight!
Great guide Tim ! Tbh I didn't really learn anything new since I'm a Crypto main since S5 and I already watched your old guide, but it's really complete and a must watch for new Crypto players. Only issue to me is the ranking at the end, while he's definitely not top tier, the new buff makes him high tier imo, especially in ranked... If any of you guys are wondering why you'd want to play Crypto, I'd say he's kind of a jack of all trades with the recon and support aspects of his drone paired with the assault aspect of his ultimate, meaning you'll be able to adapt your playstyle to any situation. Also the fact that he's so hard to play makes it ultra satisfying when you master him and win with him. (Btw his heirloom is amazing) Anyway great vid 👍
I agree that Crypto is powerful in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. I remember in my recent games that it was thanks to Crypto's banner tracking passive that me and my team were able to get picks on isolated teams. And with good communication, Crypto becomes much deadlier compared to other legends in my opinion.
I am a Crypto Main and always playing Master Lobbies with him. I love to play him, he is somehow a challenge and it makes more fun to me. But I already meet a lot of people that asked me why I play Crypto because he is the worst legend...

I bit of help with the horizontal flight, occasionally taping/short holds of that button (whatever your playing on of course) can make a confusing flight pattern. If your team is fighting while you're giving constant info, this confusing movement can really disorientate enemies :] Sincerely a Crypto/Mirage main since season 3 ;D

Great tip that I've learned is to keep a drone outside a room with a window when in a fight. Squads can't shoot it and it will constantly track that squad.
It would be cool if they added a feature where you can move the drone without entering it. Maybe they could combine a button that doesn’t do anything with the movement button or they could do it like newcastles shield where he just pings a spot and it goes there, of course there would have to be a draw back so maybe make it go slower when you arent in it or make it so there is a delay.
Great Video! I'm a main crypto since this season because I stopped playing Apex at the start of season 2. I started again and purchased crypto and loved him from the beginning! I knew all the tips from the video but great content for not so experienced players. My greatest memory was 3 days ago while playing crypto a random dude on ranked called me the best crypto he has ever seen and with this game I ranked up to diamond the first time ever! Crypto is a niche pick but if you are good with crypto he is a viable pick for ranked!
Crypto is such an underrated legend. He was the first legend I unlocked and he's still my highest win rate legend. I've tried the other scanning legends but nobody can match him for versatility and resourcefulness in my opinion.

if you know youre going to push a building, you can fly your drone over the building and look down at it (so you scan any of the exits) then hit the emp to hit everyone in the building. catch anyone escaping or running around to another door
A cool way to use the defensive EMP is to start a shield battery right before you do it. You’ll continue to use your battery while you fly the drone and you can usually time it so that your battery goes off right after the emp does putting you at full shield against slowed and lower shield opponents
Woke up this morning asking myself if I should buuy the crypto heirloom and said "I wonder if their is a timprovision guide for him?" A few hours later, my prayers have been answered 🤣
Crypto is also the only legend that can effectively respawn an entire team while a heavy fire fight is going on around their death boxes. I've been using him for ranked almost completely to bring back an entire team from situations no other legend can. I won multiple ranked games last night when I was the only one left alive and if I was using any other legend I'd be ratting it out.
A tip I can give as top 600 Crypto in the world is Crypto can mainly get you a win instead of kills, his scouting abilities are truly the best in any game so try to avoid teams and positioning is key for efficient EMP's. P.S. enemies get paranoid when they are scanned
As a fairly new crypto player, that was a great help. Didn't know for the banner or the trident nor the caustic / wattson defense destruction. But since im kind of new on this legends, I tend to play with more defensive comp so I can stay safe in a house that i've been change into fort knoxx as I play the role of a security camera^^
As an Apex Legends Mobile player I feel privileged because I seem him easy to play with and as an ultimate helpful for my teammates. I just go all the way scanning for opponents everywhere.
I am a Watty and Crypto is my bain. Today though I played Crypto for the first time and did'nt want to leave the game. It was a new experience. I think Crypto, like Wattson, is for thoughtful players who care more about support than attack. I am about to get my next heirloom. I was set on Loba, but now considering Crypto.
I have a question for you (Tim/Crypto mains) Since the drone attaches and turns around on walls/rocks/etc. Can you do this vertically? Like on the ceiling and it’ll turn around to scan a radius beneath it? Great guide! I’ve been messing around with Crypto recently b/c of his buff and then the heirloom dropped and it is insane. Crypto was my first ever bought legend in the game so it was a big learning curve. I had some of these I'm mind when playing him but this video definitely brought it to my attention more. I'm a really passive Crypto player so I have to get into the fight more
im plying crypto very agressive and in close cobat, its just amazing to know were the enemys are, and if you time ur emp at the right time, you can teamwipe with ez
Idea for a new crypto passive because his tactical should alr be included with his drone Off the grid Any enemy that scans crypto can’t accurately identify him( scans are glitched and just show multiple of him or a vague area of where he is and map reveals from his takeover don’t reveal him)
As a crypto main with only 1k kills, there is a extra 'glitch' with him as u can heal like using a pheonix in a safe spot or battery while being in his drone by simply holding down the L1 or Q then as you see your screen go from cryptos POV to Hack's, use the consumable and you'll be able to heal while maybe getting a respawn off turn the tides of battle. It's kinda sad as I see a lot more cryptos around yet so many, especially teamates, still sitting in their drones while me and my duo are 2v3ing most of lobby(and dying horribly)
Im enjoying crypto so far. Most of the time when playing you get breaks where you just scope out a team and that is when i like to use his drone. Or to head into a fight i go a bit ahead of my teammates, get some cover, and toss my drone out to check it out or emp them so we can head in with an advantage
Idk if im different in the brain but whenever ive put my drone near or in Bangalores smoke, my drone doesnt scan anyone being blocked by the smoke. Am i trippin or did you misspeak?
i was thining of crypto changes while watching, i was thinking thats annoying when your drone is broken, so u gotta reduce that and i came to the idea that would be his drone would make no sound (apart froml ult) but this would be too power full so as an exchange ive been thinking maybe crypto should have to get his drone before having a new one like repairing it. this would buff him or not actually, and would make thing more realistic as i like it ;).

You can use to get an idea of the enemy level, if they completely ignore the drone most of the times the are low level players and if they try destroy it while on movement You can tell how good their aim is, compare to yours and get the Best approach
I love his buff but what I think they should do is that his drone only flips on a wall or object when you throw it out. But if you want to go into it, it shouldn’t flip when it touches an object. I’ve had many fights where I throw out his drone to fly in it and I mess up where I’m flying because it flips and touches a wall. So i think that’s a good but valuable change
If you're fighting and your teammates are getting pissed on DO NOT THROW YOUR DRONE that cool down time is ass Run away and rat save your drone until they get finished if they don't know they are fighting a crypto chances are they won't camp the box You can pick your teammates up from 200m away thats extremely powerful and reliable Playing crypto means saving your life and everyone else's so it's ok to stay back You don't wanna have to wait on your drone to come back while your teammates banner is ticking Also stay close to your teammates bc you have no movement or escape. Carry accurate weapons youre comfortable with and keep your distance.
I'll say yes and no to some of these. The cooldown on your drone is 40S. So even if you throw it while your team is dying, you'll have it back way before their cards are even close to expiring.
Respawn needs to give us the option to set a default mode: remote or pilot. The season 12 changes made it take longer to get into pilot mode and use an aggressive EMP at mid-range. I had to change the way I play him and I'm not doing any better with him than I was before the changes. The wider detection angle is nice as well but ppl underestimated how powerful an aggressive EMP was

What’s a good Crypto gun combo? I saw you using Wingman as a primary weapon with a shotgun as a secondary, but I usually use Wingman as secondary with R99 or smth as Primary
Another thing inside a cave right abouth the entrance or in a house fight right abouth the door for some reason people don't shoot the drone although it's abouth their head. When I start to fight them and loosing shield the first thing I self emp and immediately take a bat while my emp not even launched yet. In that scenario I'm the first one who got full shield back.
I think he should get a tiny rework, his drone should be capable of grabbing crafting materials from harvesters, which come in clutch if the harvester is outside the ring or if you need to get a quick craft off in combat.
I have been thinking of getting Crypto, but one thing that concerns me is that... well, although the drone can make noise (wouldn't be TOO worried about that, as gunfire could potentially "drown" the drone's noise) AND, like you said in the video, enemies that I tag will be alerted, but... visually narrowing down it's location, that is what I'm unsure about. Though I'm guessing that in the pilot's skilled, they're hard to hit anyway? (long enough to recall it) Like, if I "accidentally" fly past, and in front of another player, how easy is it for the enemy to see it? AND, (around) what range? (if that's relevant)
Just a comment, but when I use Crypto drone I sometimes will just throw it out in a fight, it distracts and marks enemies. This works amazingly when doing it behind cover.
I always throw it get info and depending on the enemy the situation i take it back. So they dont break it, if the enemy is above me and close so i know my drone can get shit on i just throw it and bring it back right away

You don't lose EMP if it doesn't go off, unless they changed that last patch.

In tight corners I throw my drone to get some scans on where the enemies are, I use it as a distraction sometimes mid fight because enemies will aim at it while its using an emp, or they will still get a stun and shield damage.Also, the horizontal flight for crypto makes his drone much more easier to control. sure his normal flight is good to move around and confuse but usually the drone is going downwards whenever you move it in front, so it does make it easier for me to use the drone for me. but Now he's my second main to octane because he's become so much more fun to use and learn.
He's pretty fun and definitely much better than he used to be. I used the drone on a door fight the other day, it tanked a center mass mastiff shot for me and allowed me to clutch up that fight.

After being a crypto main since i joined apex legends (2 years) i realize that in end gain as a crypto main you always need to have respawn bacons in your survival kit cause you can insta respawn them in end game it's like keeping your team alive much longer allows you to be more of an asset . The snipers part caught me of guard cause i use car,r99,wingman,eva 8,flatline and sometimes the volt (now in care package) in aggressive crypto plays. You don't have to play back all the time i play up front most of the time and the key is not to get kills but to stay alive longer than anyone on the team and do more damage to enemy teams like life line.
As a crypto main this is a really good tips the only thing I would add tip wise if I’m ever being followed I would self emp Nd immediately start a bat Bc it’s takes a good second to go off and then the two second slow down so by the time they get to me I’m fully batted and they lost 50 and it gets me a big advantage I do this all the time and it works well
That drone really is a distraction, and the way that EMP melts shields is brutal... Might actually put horizon down and main this dude for a while ✌️

In my personal opinion I think crypto is a really really good character. He allows the team to see the enemies way longer than bloodhound can. He can scout places out without putting himself or his teammates in danger. Not to mention when bloodhound scans you can kinda guess the general direction in which bloodhound is in. Nobody knows where the drone came from unless you literally see it leave a building or something. The drone is SNEEEEEAAAAKY man.
A cool buff to crypto would be to add what vantage does to her bat. Makes it easier to contribute more to fights if a single input can reposition the drone.

The main reason I prefer crypto is the constant, relatively more quiet scans. Bloodhound gets a quick peek at enemies and beacons his location to everyone, people know to rotate or just shift location after a bloodhound scan. I feel that the downtime on Bloodhound scans is a huge detriment to his kit compared to Crypto as well. A crypto drone better forces them out of cover or is (at least) a better distraction due to the constant nature of the scanning. Crypto practically has wall hacks with a well placed drone, and can manuver more stealthily when the drone is in use. Though admittedly the drone being targeted and downtime on a killed drone makes Crypto a useless grunt haha. Like you mentioned in the video the drone audio is broken and silent at times too. A really good Crypto is arguably a better asset than a good bloodhound. Love the video, thanks for the tips and insight!

Great guide Tim ! Tbh I didn't really learn anything new since I'm a Crypto main since S5 and I already watched your old guide, but it's really complete and a must watch for new Crypto players.
Only issue to me is the ranking at the end, while he's definitely not top tier, the new buff makes him high tier imo, especially in ranked...
If any of you guys are wondering why you'd want to play Crypto, I'd say he's kind of a jack of all trades with the recon and support aspects of his drone paired with the assault aspect of his ultimate, meaning you'll be able to adapt your playstyle to any situation. Also the fact that he's so hard to play makes it ultra satisfying when you master him and win with him.
(Btw his heirloom is amazing)

I agree that Crypto is powerful in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.
I remember in my recent games that it was thanks to Crypto's banner tracking passive that me and my team were able to get picks on isolated teams. And with good communication, Crypto becomes much deadlier compared to other legends in my opinion.
I have a buff idea you can pick-up 2 items with the drone and drop when wanted. And you can pick up death boxes and team mates
I am a Crypto Main and always playing Master Lobbies with him. I love to play him, he is somehow a challenge and it makes more fun to me. But I already meet a lot of people that asked me why I play Crypto because he is the worst legend...

Tip: when doing a defensive emp you could pop a bat instantly to be full armor after it pops, you have to be aware of where the enemies are tho :)
I bit of help with the horizontal flight, occasionally taping/short holds of that button (whatever your playing on of course) can make a confusing flight pattern. If your team is fighting while you're giving constant info, this confusing movement can really disorientate enemies :]

Great tip that I've learned is to keep a drone outside a room with a window when in a fight. Squads can't shoot it and it will constantly track that squad.
It would be cool if they added a feature where you can move the drone without entering it. Maybe they could combine a button that doesn’t do anything with the movement button or they could do it like newcastles shield where he just pings a spot and it goes there, of course there would have to be a draw back so maybe make it go slower when you arent in it or make it so there is a delay.
Or being able to change direction without being in the drone
Great Video! I'm a main crypto since this season because I stopped playing Apex at the start of season 2.
I started again and purchased crypto and loved him from the beginning! I knew all the tips from the video but great content for not so experienced players.
My greatest memory was 3 days ago while playing crypto a random dude on ranked called me the best crypto he has ever seen and with this game I ranked up to diamond the first time ever! Crypto is a niche pick but if you are good with crypto he is a viable pick for ranked!

Crypto is such an underrated legend. He was the first legend I unlocked and he's still my highest win rate legend. I've tried the other scanning legends but nobody can match him for versatility and resourcefulness in my opinion.

if you know youre going to push a building, you can fly your drone over the building and look down at it (so you scan any of the exits) then hit the emp to hit everyone in the building. catch anyone escaping or running around to another door
A cool way to use the defensive EMP is to start a shield battery right before you do it. You’ll continue to use your battery while you fly the drone and you can usually time it so that your battery goes off right after the emp does putting you at full shield against slowed and lower shield opponents

Crypto is also the only legend that can effectively respawn an entire team while a heavy fire fight is going on around their death boxes. I've been using him for ranked almost completely to bring back an entire team from situations no other legend can. I won multiple ranked games last night when I was the only one left alive and if I was using any other legend I'd be ratting it out.
A tip I can give as top 600 Crypto in the world is Crypto can mainly get you a win instead of kills, his scouting abilities are truly the best in any game so try to avoid teams and positioning is key for efficient EMP's. P.S. enemies get paranoid when they are scanned

As a fairly new crypto player, that was a great help. Didn't know for the banner or the trident nor the caustic / wattson defense destruction.
But since im kind of new on this legends, I tend to play with more defensive comp so I can stay safe in a house that i've been change into fort knoxx as I play the role of a security camera^^
As an Apex Legends Mobile player I feel privileged because I seem him easy to play with and as an ultimate helpful for my teammates.
I just go all the way scanning for opponents everywhere.
I am a Watty and Crypto is my bain. Today though I played Crypto for the first time and did'nt want to leave the game. It was a new experience. I think Crypto, like Wattson, is for thoughtful players who care more about support than attack. I am about to get my next heirloom. I was set on Loba, but now considering Crypto.
I have a question for you (Tim/Crypto mains) Since the drone attaches and turns around on walls/rocks/etc. Can you do this vertically? Like on the ceiling and it’ll turn around to scan a radius beneath it?

Crypto was my first ever bought legend in the game so it was a big learning curve. I had some of these I'm mind when playing him but this video definitely brought it to my attention more. I'm a really passive Crypto player so I have to get into the fight more

As a crypto main with only 1k kills, there is a extra 'glitch' with him as u can heal like using a pheonix in a safe spot or battery while being in his drone by simply holding down the L1 or Q then as you see your screen go from cryptos POV to Hack's, use the consumable and you'll be able to heal while maybe getting a respawn off turn the tides of battle. It's kinda sad as I see a lot more cryptos around yet so many, especially teamates, still sitting in their drones while me and my duo are 2v3ing most of lobby(and dying horribly)
Im enjoying crypto so far. Most of the time when playing you get breaks where you just scope out a team and that is when i like to use his drone. Or to head into a fight i go a bit ahead of my teammates, get some cover, and toss my drone out to check it out or emp them so we can head in with an advantage
Opening supply drops can tell you if it's worth it.
And has saved my friend when I did and the enemy squad took the kraber

i was thining of crypto changes while watching, i was thinking thats annoying when your drone is broken, so u gotta reduce that and i came to the idea that would be his drone would make no sound (apart froml ult) but this would be too power full so as an exchange ive been thinking maybe crypto should have to get his drone before having a new one like repairing it. this would buff him or not actually, and would make thing more realistic as i like it ;).

You can use to get an idea of the enemy level, if they completely ignore the drone most of the times the are low level players and if they try destroy it while on movement You can tell how good their aim is, compare to yours and get the Best approach
I love his buff but what I think they should do is that his drone only flips on a wall or object when you throw it out. But if you want to go into it, it shouldn’t flip when it touches an object. I’ve had many fights where I throw out his drone to fly in it and I mess up where I’m flying because it flips and touches a wall. So i think that’s a good but valuable change
If you're fighting and your teammates are getting pissed on DO NOT THROW YOUR DRONE

Run away and rat save your drone until they get finished if they don't know they are fighting a crypto chances are they won't camp the box
You can pick your teammates up from 200m away thats extremely powerful and reliable
Playing crypto means saving your life and everyone else's so it's ok to stay back
You don't wanna have to wait on your drone to come back while your teammates banner is ticking
Also stay close to your teammates bc you have no movement or escape. Carry accurate weapons youre comfortable with and keep your distance.
I'll say yes and no to some of these. The cooldown on your drone is 40S. So even if you throw it while your team is dying, you'll have it back way before their cards are even close to expiring.
I just recently got crypto and he’s my main and so this guide helps a lot some of the tips I already knew but overall pretty useful
Respawn needs to give us the option to set a default mode: remote or pilot. The season 12 changes made it take longer to get into pilot mode and use an aggressive EMP at mid-range. I had to change the way I play him and I'm not doing any better with him than I was before the changes. The wider detection angle is nice as well but ppl underestimated how powerful an aggressive EMP was

What’s a good Crypto gun combo? I saw you using Wingman as a primary weapon with a shotgun as a secondary, but I usually use Wingman as secondary with R99 or smth as Primary
I take diamond with crypto with KDA 0.70. I just don't take fights, camp everywhere and constantly revive my teammates to get to 2 or 1 place.
Another thing inside a cave right abouth the entrance or in a house fight right abouth the door for some reason people don't shoot the drone although it's abouth their head. When I start to fight them and loosing shield the first thing I self emp and immediately take a bat while my emp not even launched yet. In that scenario I'm the first one who got full shield back.

I think he should get a tiny rework, his drone should be capable of grabbing crafting materials from harvesters, which come in clutch if the harvester is outside the ring or if you need to get a quick craft off in combat.
Sometimes i use the drone to spam open pills to get crafting materials if i need a little bit more to replicate :)

I have been thinking of getting Crypto, but one thing that concerns me is that... well, although the drone can make noise (wouldn't be TOO worried about that, as gunfire could potentially "drown" the drone's noise) AND, like you said in the video, enemies that I tag will be alerted, but... visually narrowing down it's location, that is what I'm unsure about. Though I'm guessing that in the pilot's skilled, they're hard to hit anyway? (long enough to recall it)
Like, if I "accidentally" fly past, and in front of another player, how easy is it for the enemy to see it? AND, (around) what range? (if that's relevant)

If the Banners tell you how many squads are near CRYPTO himself, then how come the banner says "Within Drone's range?"
Just a comment, but when I use Crypto drone I sometimes will just throw it out in a fight, it distracts and marks enemies. This works amazingly when doing it behind cover.
I always throw it get info and depending on the enemy the situation i take it back.
So they dont break it, if the enemy is above me and close so i know my drone can get shit on i just throw it and bring it back right away
