    Sorry my question is not about offspring. I have read and heard on you tube that pine cones and other cones of conifers are not safe in shrimp tanks. I was interested in using these types of cones as botanicals. I have not found any information as to why these cones are not safe. Do you know of any information regarding the use of these types of cones as botanicals. Thanks Fred O

    Subbed ! Great channel. 👍
    Question: Does Purigen and/or Activated Carbon strip the BioFilm from the tank ?
    I know shrimp really need a well established tank full of BioFilm to munch on.
    I'm trying to set up a small home-show-tank with cherry shrimp. Not breeding.
    Would also like clear water...
    90 litre tank (24"x16"x16"). Planted & Scaped. Nano Co2 dripper & lights 8 hours.
    Oase Biomass Thermo 250T & Matrix. Mini Lily & skimmer. 2 x mini air-stones. 25% WC very week.
    Happy to let it settle in for a few months before adding the shrimp.
    Don't want to strip all the good stuff away for the little guys... Any advice ?

    Hi. I’ve been having troubles with my neos. Had them for around 5 months or so in a 20 gallon long with guppy grass and dwarf Sagittaria which provides a lot of cover along with a piece of drift wood. They aren’t breeding and I began with 20. Couple weeks ago, I started to lose them one by one each day. I lost about three and then I did a water change. The losses kept going. I lost around 6 or 7. Since then, I got some Bacteria AE and it seems to subside. Additionally, i put two very young guppies inside with hopes that they can help provide more of a food source. The tank is ran on a large sponge filter and has a very thin layer of eco-complete gravel. My water comes out of the tap at high ph and hardness. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and am a college student. I’d love to get an Ro unit and the shrimp additive salts but i cannot at the moment; the shrimp alone were a big investment that i had to wait for. But until then, I’ve been using my tap and dechlorinator from a local fish store. Ive recently switched to prime but have not used that yet. I, in the beginning, tried to feed around every other day as suggested by the seller. I fed sinking pellets from hikari, got some snowflake pellets, bee pollen, and some other various types of fish pellets... an unrelated topic is i have guppies that fail to breed in a separate tank and I’ve had those for about 9 months. ALSO, Is there anyway I can contact you via an email for help? I appreciate any help you van offer!

    • @SooShrimpBreeders
      @SooShrimpBreeders  4 роки тому +1

      They sell ro water at grocery stores. I would suggest if you have only a few tanks to buy that. Like 3 bucks for 5 gallons or less
