Frank Hall was a great presenter with a lovely personality..The less said about the present bunch the better..I just switch them off..Much better entertainment on YT even if it's 30 or 40 years ago.
Everyone smoked in those days...If you were in a pub at a session and you were a non smoker it was very uncomfortable. I remember the other great blind flute player Josie McDermott his right hand was almost completely brown from smoking..
@@marieboutin9054 Just observing as it's not a common sight these days. Also remarkable for a flute player. And no argument, he was a lovely kind man, and a fabulous musician.
Well it's fascinating to see this artist and his tradition and all but man, they give and take that flute among them like 8 times, not even wiping it down... I mean I wouldn't do it, not only because of hygiene but merely the thought of it... Ugh
Well, with the way one's lips sit on the flute and the way you blow, you don't come into contact with saliva even when exchanging a flute rapidly like that. Not to mention, with the silver insert in the headjoint, it'd most likely be less germ-friendly than an actual wooden flute.
Had the pleasure of sitting beside Fred & Peter at a pub in Boyle way back..What a night.. Lovely clip .
I played along with Peter a couple of times, at Charlestown and Feakle. He loved the bodhran, such a lovely man!
