- I fancied trying a couple of oldie games for a change so came across this Vector machine, it is actually quite complicated with a serious rule set requiring targets to be completed in sequence to get the best scores, surprisingly the rules are less clear than a modern game! Amazing amount of speech for a game of this era.

11 months ago I passed on a Vector. Last weekend one is now in my house. :)
This was the first techno track I ever heard 🤓
They had this pinball at Saltburn arcades and I used to play it first thing on Saturday mornings wayyyyyy back in 1982 easy!Sounded flippin' excellent back then, with no one else hardly in the arcade that early 😎
Great video Matt....This Vector is now in my collection! I would never have thought that while watching your video i was driving up to Leeds to collect it!
There is one of these for sale in the UK for £400 in excellent condition. This video has only served to tempt me even more...
Nice video and interesting machine Matt. It appears to have a lot of stuff going on and a nice layout. One thing I miss from these older machines is the drop down targets and this machine has a double row. Thanks for posting this video!
The speech in this game is amazing.
Waheeeeeeey!!! Not heard this machine since it was out in the arcades all those years ago >> used to get in early because the sound was brilliant and the rest of the arcade was still quiet...
had this machine for years, was too much fun but hard to maintain.
Thanks, its good fun trying to break through the double row and there is another set on the upper playfield that if you drop them all it drops one of the lower ones, good stuff.
Why the ball moves so slowly.
It was pretty awesome in its day!
My high score on Vector pinball is 757,390
Im starting to think passing on the Vector that was for sale locally was a huge mistake.
centaur is the Best
Are these the original flipper mechanisms? They seem too agile to be the original “linear” flipper mechs Bally built into this game.
Yes they are. They were all new linkages etc which probably helped!
@@tattyadams I see, thanks for the reply. I realized, when rebuilding the flippers on mine, that they are much more prone to coil plunger jamming than, say, Williams System 11 flippers. I am finally happy with the performance of mine after changing the lower right coil for a brand new one which may have helped the flipper fatigue (less power) after about half an hour of gameplay.
I wish this was was on the Pinball Arcade. Could you show your score?
I know a Bally Vector very close to me, but sadly its in the hands of a "Collector" the version who just vacuums up games but never sells. Probably have to wait for him to die before its up for sale.
I love the Intellivision like sound effects on this pin. Heh
PinBallReviewer ya...It seemed that my brothers and I played Intellivision 247 in the early 1980s.
Same voice in Centaur ^^
I was thinking more along the line of Medusa and Fathom
All the early Bally talking pinball machines with the exception of Xenon are voiced by the same guy.
Why the ball moves so slowly.
Hey what's up? Tell me something my friend: I've only played Stern pinballs, do you think Stern is a lot better than Bally...or it ain't that much as some people say?
Hey Larry, nice try but AC/DC is a classic!!!
What software version is running here? My Vector has the 5X lamp stuck on in Attract Mode. Running www.pinball4you.ch/okaegi/pro_soft.html Home ROM 5 from said link.
Only stuck after playing a first game I just observed.
Is this a wide body?
No! :-)
These flippers are so pathetic that I can tell from just watching the video!
