I’d describe this fragrance as slightly bright, warm and airy fruitiness. To me it’s absolutely lovely. No it doesn’t evolve, but then again not all fragrances should be complex. This fragrance doesn’t shy away from being what it is and I love that, since it’s not pretentious.

I’m glad I decided to get night vision edt instead of this. I still want to try it, thank you for your review as always. And I’m willing to bet your right, linear fragrances tend to nose dive on they’re value I’m gonna try to wait or sample if possible. How disappointing though I thought this was going to be awesome considering how good explorer was and they’re release before this Legend edp was very good.

I'm one of the few people who really like Ultra Blue. I notice some citrus in the opening, along with the amber.
Wow, what a great fragrance this IS. It is the perfect “bookend" to Explorer Black (my current favorite, period). Explorer Blue gives me a gorgeous ’reset" in a whole new direction, gives me perspective and appreciation for Both Black and Blue fragrances. BTW, Mont Blanc only sold these Two colors for their Ink, so I think both are "classy" and they are alluding to their ICONIC Pens by naming it Blue Also, the bottle (3.3oz) is a Masterpiece topped with the Best Atomizer on any I’ve tried. The Cap doubles as a Paperweight (don’t set it upside down - scratches). The Cap design and logo are absolutely classic MB.

Totally hating on tubers! Haha, agreed good sir. This is nothing like I had hoped. Very similar to overplayed invictus aqua scents. Too soapy and floral for me.

Not trashing Mont Blanc or anything, but the way they are discounted, it would have to be an awfully compelling fragrance to consider paying full retail at release. Thanks for taking one fir the team!
I own and have worn MB fragrances, and for the most part I like the house...especially at the deeply discounted prices you can pick them up
for. I would put them up there with Coach, Versace, Azarro as having high value fragrances that smell incredible fir the price. Legend Spirit, OG Explorer, Starwalker, Individuel are some of my favorites from the house.
What’s the best coach fragrance
I wish they had taken the original Explorer but boosted with vanilla. Maybe someday.

Lid appears to be pretty scratched up for coming out of a factory sealed box.

Dang... They should have just made a darker Explorer. Or maybe Explorer Blue could have been a unique kind of freshie. This seems like a total let down :/ could have even been more like Aventus Cologne....

I always wonder who the person or robot is that signs off on these products. I can't image the budget what THAT different from the original Explorer. Could this be MB's first major flop? If so, that's one hellova way to torpedo a line. Anyway, I'm sure the parfum or edt flanker is already in the works.
Sounds like Montblanc tried to do their own take on an Acqua Di Gio type fragrance and missed the mark.

Ultra Blue = Lots of ambroxan

Why does the new bottle have scratches on the cap?
It's loose in the box, so moved around during shipping. Some of it polishes off when you wipe it, but it does look like someone used it for luge in the warehouse

At least it doesnt smell bad, it just doesnt pop, especially when you can get other fresh smelling colognes that are cheaper and probably smell similar.

All the reviews I have seen so far are the same/ a sense of being underwhelmed. Of course some will love it or just want to collect. Noses are all different. But it is definitely a miss for me especially since I buy edp most of the time.
