Up to this day I still believe it would have been such a cinematically successful move to have made Negan go on a frenzy during that scene. Maggie's afraid, time slows down, Daryl shakes Judith, for the first time in a while visually shaken, and suddenly all you hear is Negan saying in an almost unaudible tone "no..not you..not you--NOT YOU!! NOT AGAIN!!" (making reference to his pain after Carl's passing); only to then start shooting and pushing forward, instilling fear into her and forcing her to flee in unregistered fear.
It would have made all of us cry to see him like that, even after everything he's done, and it would have made other scenes, such as the one between him and Maggie at the end where they finally begin to make paces for the past, all much more sense
Watching how everyone in the group, especially Negan, basically go feral when Rick's daughter gets hit is the greatest, old school Walking Dead moment in that final season.

It's getting annoying the amount of spoilers that keep popping up just because of AMC plus. I'm only one episode behind, yet spoilers for the next episode are always on UA-cam shorts with the Spoiler in CAPS in the title.
This scene was so emotional. Maggie being the one that delivered Judith and Daryl the first person to feed her a bottle and nicknamed her "little ass kicker" I for sure meant that was leading to Judith's character being killed off. So glad she survived 😥
