- An angry man causes some excitement at Birmingham airport. Could a woman from Trinidad and Tobago be carrying packages for a friend? And suspected cigarette smugglers from the Canary Islands play dumb to questioning in Bristol.
In Gatwick and Bristol Airports in England customs agents check baggage and travellers to uphold allowances and prevent illicit activity and substances from entering the UK.

But it does not mean that they are no problems with racial bias in the world. I'm a male who used to have hair down to my shoulders. I fly a lot, and my friends and I always joked about how many times I got pulled aside and searched at airports. This happened at least a dozen times, but I never had anything illegal on me. Going forward, I cut my hair short, and ever since then I've never been stopped once for a search.
Maybe officers think: Longer hair males = Stoners? Even tho that would be super dumb if they see it like that ☠️
@@willoew7582 stereotypes often have cart loads of truth to them.
Tell me about it! I'm a Guns n Roses fan and around 2010 I had shoulder-length hair to try to look like Axl Rose (or Fabio.... yeah, I'm old fashioned) but I had no idea how I was actually perceived by my looks. I kept getting stopped by mall guards, the interactions with people were generally rude and a bus ticket seller in France kept speaking french to me even as I'm telling her I don't understand...
And then I cut my hair to ear-length and overnight I transformed into a pop idol, kind of like Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys. I was never stopped by mall guards anymore and shopkeepers became very friendly all of a sudden! All this discriminative behaviour just because of a haircut 🙄
I've had short hair most of my life and I've been travelling for the past 30 years. I am 67 and always wear smart casual or suits when travelling. Yet, I am consistently stopped on OUTGOING flights at Heathrow. I don't carry drugs or cigs or alcohol. Nothing sharp etc. Why am I stopped? No idea. Luck of the draw. I have always found officers to be polite and easy going. IMHO they are just doing their job and are protecting all passengers from potentially dangerous situations.
Do I find it inconvenient? Not really - I always arrive early and am prepared for delays.
Do I think I am being victimised? Nah. Maybe I look like someone who, in the past, has given officers to be suspicious?
Are there some officers who may be "over zealous" and not really suited to dealing with the public in a professional manner? Of course. But, they get weeded out.
Have I had disagreements with customs officers - In Australia - yes:- because SOME are not aware of their own rules. But, when one is calm and polite - it all gets sorted out.

US Customs - “we have to be on the lookout for fentanyl, bombs and guns”
UK Customs - “we must tax each and every cigarette coming into the country”
They say 200 cigarettes but what if you roll your own and make them huge?
You’re not really suggesting that the UK isn’t looking for those things, too, are you? It’s obvious that geography isn’t your strong point, and you haven’t taken the trouble to think what it must be like to have so many countries crowded together with competing interests and different laws and regulations. Countries within the EU agree on certain taxation on goods, but those outside of it can sell those same goods extremely cheaply, and since cigarettes are taxed extremely highly in the UK as a source of revenue, when people successfully smuggle cigarettes into the UK, about 1 billion pounds of tax revenue is lost annually and businesses who sell cigarettes also take a hit. So obviously Customs is going to go after people who smuggle them in! And, since you obviously don’t know this, either, the UK doesn’t have the climate to grow tobacco, but the US does....again obviously, bc of this, we don’t have a big importation problem with smuggled tobacco.

yeah it really does suck, I am also a magnet when it comes to "random" searches. There have been times where I got annoyed cause I was tired after a long flight. However, I always acted respectful and cooperative, because I understood that this was the job of customs and an occurrence that can happen when crossing international borders. When traveling through international borders always be ready to have either your belongings or person checked, that's just the way it is. And also a piece of advise, when wanting to enter another country for the first time, please do take the time to do a quick google search to see what items you can or cannot bring into the country, or what items have to be declared.

You've probably seen quite a few episodes of the US version of Airline.... (some episodes and clips are on the A&E YT account)
But many times the priскs just make it necessary..
10:15 “this guys is getting exited for no reason man”😂😂😂
At least in this Country they ask, "Has anyone is forced you to bring drugs with or on you" I've seen so many that just grab, search and jail. Lpl
Who's to say if they will give an honest answer though?
This bald agent folding the clothes is infuriating I don’t blame the guy
I wish one of them would say “I would have gotten away with it to if t wasn’t for you meddling kids” 😂
Officers are so calm and friendly
Have a BAD day, have a BAD day! 🤣
I love your little music!
Great job by customs for seizing contraband from the notorious Karen Cigarette Cartel.
Great job in molesting that poor woman, eh?
when he says have a bad day, say "you too" pull that reverse uno on him lol
A sanitary towel ? Sounds like Shark Week in the U.K.
“You wasting my time man” lol like he’s losing millions for standing there 5mins people are full of BS lol
I'd have done the same thing').
Either that or just wants to go home.
The hell you mean? That man time is valuable. Get out of here
This is a reposted video
Love your show
..
her suitcase was checked in Trinidad and it had high traces of coke arriving in the UK.
I would check the cameras in the luggage handling hall....
Have you nothing to declare ?
No no no no no man !!!
No weapons, drugs, illegal substanc....
No no no no no man !!!
Are you nervous ?
No no no no no no no no no (x 33) man !!!!!!
Why are you repeating it? We all heard it
I admire the patience and professionalism of UK custome and immigration officers.
If you talked to a border agent like that in Canada or the US you'd be face down eating asphalt
@@doiron12 ER... No, in the "US" you'd be 6 feet under it. And they'd send your family a bill.
question if anyone work as custom, does the machine get clean after every test? does the cotton/swab left any trace at the machine after use?
Such heroes
18:47 Perhaps dont start the topic of a strip search with "What I would like to do" lol
Amen
Def feel like the girl coming from Tobago had something on her or at the very least had been using quite a bit of coke on her trip. U don’t just say “I don’t think he’s a drug dealer” and “I hope he didn’t put anything in my bag” unless u know you’ve got something going on with drugs
My addiction is chocolate ice cream. That's bad enough!
And boom just like that he loses 7 years for smuggling stupid drugs 😂
Woman in blue needs to lay off the cigarettes and the tanning.
When I came back from Europe, I went through Atlanta. There was an escalator that ALL arrivals had to go down. Standing at the bottom was an officer who had a cute little dog with him. Just sitting there wagging his tail. I wonder what happens when someone comes down that escalator and has drugs on their person. Or even was smoking reefer the night before at the hotel. Yikes!
Dog alerts.
@@noaslater3757 and possibly just let through but the people watching on CCTV alert agents in the concourse who surround and lead away the suspect for a search and interrogation.
Years ago a guy who worked at the main post office at the airport told me that their drug sniffing dogs were addicted to the specific drug that they’re trained to detect. That sounded a bit harsh, is that really true?!😳
@@valarmorghulis2350 Usually such a thing does not happen often, but it has been more than once where I heard of a drug dog getting addicted off of a drug due to particular circumstances. Not sure what they do about that though.
I was going through an airport in Texas on my way to California. I came from EU. a guy and his beagle dog got an interest in me and he walked the dog around me a few times and then they left.
when I arrived in California I took out my laptop from my hand luggage and realized it had about 5 grams of hash stuck to the bottom of it. pretty lucky It wasn't found in texas
“…. If you come with me this way please I’ll search your body before you go to prison . Would you like water , coffee or tea !! ….” 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Officers are so civil !
As a black woman THIS is why I don't travel internationally. I deal with this BS enough on the streets of America.
Thank you for posting these videos 🥰
Which one is you
@@boomchannel3160 you won't catch me in an airport 😁
If i ever went to prison. It would be because I did something on my own. I would never go for someone else. Hell no!
The commentator said the guy forgot his actitudes in Dubai"
Lol
Love this commentator
Wish to meet him someday
I need that job. Week ends would be epic
Honestly the real drug mules are the grandmas
Can't live on the pension alone, you know? And walking the streets isn't as profitable as it used to be when your over 60! Lol
gotta admire the patience of these officers, I would lose it...
The drug smuggler's demeanor is cool and calm. He knows the deal.
I've flown into UK airports dozens of times in my life, never has a drug dog sniffed me or my flight, down.
They do it for the camera
They can’t be everywhere.
I’ve been sniffed by a drug dog. He didn’t “win the ball”!
I want to meet the drug dog!
@@M_SC I wanna meet the girl
